Abstract

Fenomena pandemi covid-19 telah mengubah kebiasaan umum manusia dalam segala aspek, termasuk dalam mekanisme proses pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan oleh guru. Menghadapi situasi new normal dalam jangka waktu yang belum pasti bukan hal yang mudah untuk dijalani oleh seorang guru. Tujuan studi ini adalah untuk menganalisis kesiapan dan kompetensi yang perlu dimiliki guru untuk mendukung berjalannya pembelajaran yang efektif dan bermutu pada era new normal di massa pandemi Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan dengan menganalisis penelitian-penelitian terdahulu yang telah dilakukan. Temuan dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa guru harus mempunyai kesiapan dalam melakukan metode Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) di era new normal. Guru dituntut untuk mengubah metode pembelajaran menjadi lebih fleksibel dalam mengembangkan berbagai metode pembelajaran yang tetap akan berujung pada pencapaian standar kompetensi yang ada di kurikulum sekolah. Kesiapan guru dalam melaksanakan metode PJJ dapat menjadi kunci keberhasilan dalam mencapai tujuan proses belajar di masa pandemi covid-19.

Abstract

The research aims to describe the effect of Continuing Professional Development (PKB) on the competence and performance of elementary school teachers in learning innovation, and analyze how much influence PKB has on the competence and performance of elementary school teachers in carrying out learning innovations. Quantitative research method with simple random sampling technique. The population is 116 people and the sample used is 90 respondents. The resulting instruments include: PKB planning, self-development, scientific publications and innovative works with indicators following and implementing training, workshops, seminars, making innovative works and scientific publications in teacher performance. While learning innovation is measured through learning programs, classroom management, mastery of teaching materials, use of methods, media and evaluation of learning. The application of reflective actions and the results of Classroom Action Research reports on a regular basis become a benchmark for more professional teacher performance. Statistical data shows that: 1) there is a positive and significant effect of the PKB variable on teacher competence by 9.28%, 2) there is a positive and significant effect of the PKB variable on teacher performance by 4.84% and 3) there is a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. Simultaneous PKB variable on teacher competence and performance is 14.12%. Continuing Professional Development has a significant influence on teacher competence and performance which can be designed, tested and measured by the relevant agencies and has a broad impact on the innovative culture of teacher learning during the pandemic.

Abstract

School Operational Assistance (BOS) is an Indonesian government program that aims to provide funding for operational costs for basic educations as a part of compulsory education programs. The research was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of the BOS program in improving teaching performance and education quality. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach by using informants, including school principals, school treasurers, teachers, and school committees. Informants were selected by using purposive sampling technique and carried out to obtain data and produced an analysis of the field phenomena regarding the BOS program using the GOEM (Goal Oriented Evaluation Model) evaluation model. Indicator instruments include the preparation, structure, distribution, use, monitoring, reporting. The results showed that: (1) In general, the effectiveness of the implementation of the BOS program in the Kedu sub-district was appropriate in accordance with the BOS technical guidelines. (2) The effectiveness of the current use of the BOS fund program was less effective in improving teaching performance in pedagogic competence because BOS funds were not well targeted. In conclusion, innovative strategy is needed to improve learning programs as a the main targets.

Abstract

This study examined the implementation of online learning that took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. The goal was to unravel and straighten out various doubts and complaints in the community who think that the implementation of online learning caused problems rather than an alternative to the practical mode of learning. The study utilized a literature study (library research), that is integrative review. It was closely related to the semi-structured review aiming at assessing, criticizing, and synthesizing the literature on the related research topic in a way that enables new theoretical frameworks and perspectives to emerge. Additionally, the process follows four phases: design, conduct, analysis, and finally structuring and writing the review. The study showed a broad misunderstanding in society about what happened during working and studying from the home period. Many people suspected that what happened was online learning. However, it is not online learning but an emergency remote teaching instead. This implied that most online learning in operations did not meet the standardized requirements as it was established. Furthermore, not using the intelligent flexible learning model (the Fifth Generation of Online Learning Mode) resulted in significant complications at the operational level. Moreover, what factually happened did not meet the characteristics of online learning systems and services. Above all, most online learning institutions still ignore the use of appropriate pedagogics. This study also demonstrated the importance of utilizing a complete instructional design so that the learning experience as a condition for the learning outcomes effectively achieved was equally present in the learning process. Comprehensive planning that was arranged systematically and structured will allow dialogue for students in the implementation stage. The dialogue space must occur not only between students and teachers as well as students and students but also, more importantly, self-dialogue for each student. Some insights for future consideration were also formulated and recommended for better online learning implementation

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of students' independent learning based on indicators of independent learning in terms of the process and management of students when they were studying. When students learn independently, it plays an important role in learning success and helping students obtained optimal learning outcomes. This research was used analytic descriptive research methods and survey techniques, used four indicators of independent learning in terms of the process and management of students when they were studying. The results showed that most of the students had independent learning in high to very high categories on the indicators of having initiative and motivation to learning, able to diagnose learning needs, able to determine learning targets and learning goals, and able to monitor, organize, and control learning. The results showed that almost all students had a level of independent learning in the high to the very high category on those three indicators.

Abstract

Kajian filosofis atas berbagai sistem belajar atau pendidikan secara umum menjadi penting sebagai dasar dalam menilai maupun mengeksekusi berbagai kebijakan dalam pendidikan. Termasuk dalam pembelajaran terbuka dan jarak jauh, dimana landasan filosofisnya perlu dijabarkan agar proses pembelajaran di dalamnya dapat berjalan dengan lebih maksimal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menjabarkan bagaimana perspektif filosofis berupa ontologi, epistemologi, aksiologi, dan juga etika diterjemahkan dalam pelaksanaan sistem pembelajaran terbuka dan jarak jauh. Artikel ini disusun dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif yang ditunjang dengan pengumpulan data dengan metode studi pustaka. Dari hasil pembahasan diketahui bahwa secara filosofis, sistem PTJJ merupakan upaya yang dapat memungkinkan terpenuhinya kebutuhan pendidikan yang berdasarkan pada hakikat manusia, berupa keberbedaan, baik minat, kebutuhan dan kondisi kemampuan individu, serta menggunakan asas kesetaraan sebagai nilai filosofis di dalamnya.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak signifikan terhadap pembelajaran mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Adanya Covid-19 yang berdampak pada berbagai bidang kehidupan dapat mempengaruhi ketahanan mahasiswa untuk kuliah di UT. Selama ini strategi pembelajaran, faktor sosiodemografi, layanan tutorial, kemampuan akademik dan kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap layanan UT telah mempengaruhi resiliensi mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi daya tahan mahasiswa Universitas Terbuka selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa kondisi sosial ekonomi pada masa pandemi Covid 19 dan strategi pembelajaran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap resistensi registrasi mahasiswa. Tingkat resistensi (mahasiswa registrasi ulang) dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan mengatasi kendala sosial ekonomi pada masa pandemi (Sosvid, 0,49), kemampuan akademik (0,38), kondisi layanan UT (-0,16), layanan tutorial-praktikum (-0,20), dan strategi pembelajaran (-0,44). Keluaran dari penelitian ini adalah rekomendasi perbaikan dan inovasi layanan FST UT selama pandemi.

Abstract

The crisis of community identity reflects the neglect of the world of Education and culture to develop civic intelligence. Education emphasizes individual intelligence by ignoring efforts to link emotional intelligence diversity with collective citizenship intelligence. As a result, many people are unaware of their obligations and rights. In addition, many behaviors do not reflect politeness in society. Recently, blasphemy, insults, insults, and even threats are so easy to find in various places in public spaces. Therefore, civil intelligence education is the best solution for shaping public civility. Mental intelligence development is essential for a nation. It is necessary to develop literacy that can lead to a more noble and civilized life, namely human literacy. Human literacy is the estuary of data and technology literacy for 21st-century students for a more noble and civilized life. Distance Education has a significant role in building the quality of Education in Indonesia, especially in developing human literacy. The method used in the analysis of this discussion is a literature study. This article discusses civic intelligence as a challenge, distance education as a solution to the civic intelligence education process, the development of civic intelligence through human literacy, and the role of human literacy in shaping public civility in distance education.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a reflective learning program that can be applied to the online tutorial for the final project to improve students' reflective thinking skills. Through a series of phased activities, a reflective learning program using discussion as the core of activities followed by reflection activities using the Gibbs’ reflective cycle has produced a reflective learning program in an online tutorial that is ready to be tested. The test was conducted to measure the students' reflective thinking level before and after using the program using the Kember reflective thinking level instrument. The study show that the program has the main characteristic of sharpening students' reflective thinking skills.  After using the program, students' reflective thinking skills showed an increase in the highest score at the critical reflection level. The program has the advantage that students will get used to doing reflection and can practice higher-order thinking skills through discussion activities. Program limitations occurred because of the effect of program characteristics, namely, students must have high motivation, discipline, and independent learning, students must have sufficient computer and IT skill.  The program has the potential to increase the ability of reflection to support a change/shift towards a higher level of reflective thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students feedback to the application of online learning on practical courses in the Education Technology Study Program. This research is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research instrument used in the form of questionnaires and interviews. Of the 104 respondents who filled out the questionnaire, as many as 88 respondents (86.3%) still wanted a synchronous meeting in the form of a webinar tutorial. The results of the interviews showed that the application of online learning in practical courses received a positive response from the majority of respondents, but the implementation time and learning assessment received a negative response.
