Abstract

This paper describes the use of ChatGPT in learning. The research is a qualitative descriptive study with a case study at SMA Negeri 1 Sukabumi in West Java Province Indonesia. The research begins with a survey, which involves the distribution of questionnaires to 13 learning subject teachers in grade 10 and 69 tenth-grade students who were selected randomly. The questionnaire results were analyzed as a basis for further research, including in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. Classroom observations were carried out on two teachers who have implemented learning using ChatGPT. To deepen the results of the observations, interviews were distributed to the two teachers and three students who were randomly selected from the observed classes. The research findings indicate that learning using ChatGPT can assist teachers in preparing and directing students in the teaching and learning process. With teacher guidance, students are expected to gain knowledge more comprehensively and deeply by asking specific questions that align with learning objectives. The teacher’s competence to guide students in the use of ChatGPT in terms of n achieving learning objectives determines the achievement of learning outcomes from each student. ChatGPT, as one of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, offers new challenges in the field of education. The research in this paper provides insights into how this AI technology can be utilized in classroom learning

Abstract

This paper discusses the effectiveness of Experiential Learning on the Jelajah Alam Sekitar approach (JAS) on the ninth-grade students’ cognitive learning outcomes and activeness at SMP Negeri 6 Semarang on the function of soil for life and its component learning material. The research uses the Static Group Comparison method by involving two classes. The control class (9H) uses the lecture method and the experimental class (9G) uses the JAS approach based on Experiential Learning. The cognitive learning outcome data were obtained from multiple choice objective tests (summative assessment), while students’ activeness data were obtained from observation sheets. Data were analyzed by using an independent T-test. The results indicate that the JAS approach was effective in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes and activeness. It is evidenced by a significant difference between the average score of cognitive learning outcomes in the control class at 89 and in the experimental class at 96.3 with a p-value of 0.043. In addition, there was a difference between the average score of students’ activeness in the control class at 12.3 and in the experimental class at 13 with a p-value of 0.116. Yet, the differences were not significant. Based on the results of the research, it is recommended that teachers can use the JAS approach as one of the alternative learning methods that can improve students’ cognitive learning outcomes and activeness.

Abstract

This paper discusses a type of Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is based on the low students’ Math learning outcomes of students in class V.B SD Negeri 112 Palembang. The purpose is to improve students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-based Learning model. The research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, which are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The techniques used to collect data were observation, tests, and documentation. The initial condition of the research showed that the percentage of students’ learning completeness was only limited to 10.34% (Very Less), which subsequently increased in the first cycle to 55.17% (Sufficient). The students’ learning outcomes increasingly improved in the second cycle with the percentage of students’ completeness, which reached 89.66% (Very Good). The results indicate that the application of the PBL model in learning implies a significant effect on the improvement of students’ learning outcomes in class V.B, especially on the volume of cubes and beams that have been studied. Thus, the PBL model can be said to be one of the effective learning models that can improve the student’s learning outcomes, which will be more effective if it continues to be examined as long as keeping up with the times.

Abstract

Good mental health requires the ability to manage emotions, thoughts, and actions in a healthy and adaptive manner. Parental upbringing and family support are crucial in maintaining the mental health of adolescents, as they are the closest individuals within the family. Emotional support from the family and access to mental health resources like psychologists or mental health clinics can assist adolescents in overcoming stress and pressures in their lives. This paper uses a literature review methodology to explore the family’s role in adolescent mental health. The findings based on the literature review indicate that the family has a significant influence on adolescent mental health. Parenting styles demonstrated by parents have a significant impact on the mental development of adolescents. The social support provided by parents to their children is likewise crucial. With strong social support from the family and the surrounding environment, adolescents can build positive relationships with others, effectively overcome challenges, and achieve desired life goals.
