Abstract

The Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) is a trade agreement that aims to facilitate market access and considers aspects of economic cooperation and development initiatives between the two countries. The trade agreement between Indonesia and Japan is Indonesia's first bilateral trade agreement covering trade in goods, services, and investment, and entered into force in 2008. The development of the service sector is an important factor in supporting economic growth. This study uses panel data regression with the estimation method used by the gravity model with Difference in Difference (DiD) to see the impact of the IJEPA. The study results show that the interest variable is not significant to the dependent variable, illustrating that the existence of the IJEPA agreement is statistically unable to explain the relationship that occurs with the value of exports and imports of the Indonesian service sector. Implementing IJEPA in Indonesia still does not have an impact and has not provided benefits, especially for service trade.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze and examine the effect of job effort, job insecurity, task-oriented leadership on job performance and organizational commitment. Using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling Method (PLS-SEM). This research involved hotel employee respondents from various big cities in Indonesia. Data was collected through an online survey that used a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the PLS-SEM analysis show that job effort has a positive and significant effect on job performance. Job insecurity is proven to have a negative and significant effect on job performance. Meanwhile, job effort and task-oriented leadership are proven to have a positive and significant influence on organizational commitment. However, job insecurity is not proven to have a significant effect on organizational commitment. The results of this study can be used as a guide for managers and organizational leaders in designing strategies to improve employee performance and commitment amid the recovery situation from the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of service quality on satisfaction, with the research focusing on Perum Pegadaian in Malang City, East Java. The sampling technique employed involves multiple sampling using accidental and purposive sampling methods, resulting in a sample size of 100 pawnshop customers. The analysis method utilized is multiple linear regression. The t-test results for each service quality dimension reveal the following outcomes: (1) Physical evidence (tangible) does not have a significant effect on satisfaction, (2) Reliability does not significantly impact satisfaction, (3) Responsiveness does not have a significant effect on satisfaction, (4) Assurance significantly influences satisfaction, and (5) Attention also has a significant effect on satisfaction. Based on the F-test, it is concluded that all dimensions of service quality significantly affect satisfaction.

Abstract

This paper is presented in response to the issue related to the impact of the COVID-19pandemic on the trade sector at the Entikong Border in West Kalimantan. The author uses cross-border governance to explain the dynamics and import-export activities during the pandemic. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and literature studies. The results of this article show that export and import activities will continue during the pandemic. In 2020, it was found that freight shipments were recorded on both routes alone with 44.03% import-export activity through Supadio Airport amounting to US$193,668,243 and the Ports of Kendawang and Pontianak contributing 29.10%. In addition, there are oxygen import activities for pandemic mitigation and electricity imports to meet the needs of people at the border. During the pandemic, there was a change in international trade procedures impacted the depreciation of exports from Indonesia in early 2020 and started to stabilize in mid-April 2021. The Malaysian government's oxygen import policy took place as a result of the issue of increased oxygen demand during the Covid-19 pandemic. The activity of opening the two national borders between Indonesia and Malaysia can only be carried out for the importation of oxygen tanks (liquid oxygen), as well as the repatriation of PMI and the repatriation of motorized vehicles.

Abstract

Choosing the right suppliers is important for companies to provide raw materials for production in the long run. The sustainability of production activities is tightly controlled by suppliers in the manufacturing industry. A company in Mojokerto that manufactures PVC pipes falls under the plastic pipe industry sector. Raw materials for PVC resins must be ensured through assessments of suppliers. This study was conducted to determine which resin supplier was the best based on predetermined criteria. Variable include: price, quality, delivery, quantity accuracy, and service. To determine the order of preference for resin suppliers, this study uses AHP, which gives the individual a probability score for each criterion, and TOPSIS, which gives the user an indication of which supplier to choose when selecting a resin. As a result of data processing, suppliers are ranked based on their preferences. The preference values for each supplier are: supplier 1, which is 0.927; supplier 2, which is 0.739; supplier 3, which is 0.091; and supplier 4, which is 0.267. There are five parameters used in this study, and quality is known to have an influence of about 47% on the four suppliers. However, the delivery and service parameters only contribute 5%.

Abstract

Delivery services are going through a transition phase globally due to changes in the market dynamics and growing e-commerce industries. As the delivery services of public logistics organizations have a lasting impact on customer behavior, logistics organizations are using innovative, customer-centric, and cost-effective strategies to offer customers convenient, attractive, and effective service solutions. The current study has been undertaken to analyze the effectiveness of each element of quality services of delivery services. Qualitative and quantitative research approaches were implemented based on a hundred respondents in identifying the critical issues based on the SERVQUAL method, heterogeneous customer satisfaction index (HCSI), and mapping out prioritizing the most critical problem. The study results reveal that customers are susceptible to the responsive, assurance, and empathy dimensions. These three of five dimensions are adversely influencing the satisfaction of customers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine carbon emissions in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-6 (ASEAN-6) in achieving Sustainable Development Goals using the Kuznet environmental curve analysis approach. Used panel data regression method with carbon emissions as a dependent variable and Gross Domestic Product per capita, Squared Gross Domestic Product per capita, population, energy consumption and Sustainable Development Goals as independent variables. Used panel data from 2009-2018, samples taken from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam. Results are the suitable random effect model, with per capita Gross Domestic Product and energy consumption having a positive and significant effect on carbon emissions. In contrast, the squared Gross Domestic Product Per capita, population and Sustainable Development Goals have a negative and significant impact on carbon emissions. The Environmental Kuznet curve hypothesis has been proven in this area, although only Singapore has reached a turning point, so  ASEAN-6 will still experience in carbon emissions increase. For this reason, ASEAN-6 needs to implement sustainable development policies, family planning, environmentally friendly energy development, and coordination and seriousness in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals.
