Abstract

Purpose: Transportation is one of the important things in supporting community activities outside the home. Currently, people are faced with the new normal era so they have to adapt to new things due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. This study wants to know about the behavior of the community in the selection of public transportation in the corridor Blok M – Bundaran Hotel Indonesia in the new normal era. Design/methodology/approach: Data were obtained from the results of a questionnaire survey of users of the Blok M – Bundaran Hotel Indonesia public transport corridor using stated preference methods and used influence attributes in the form of travel costs, travel time, and waiting time. The survey results were collected and then linear regression analysis was performed and modeling was performed using the binomial logit model. Data analysis was carried out from questionnaire data distributed to 100 respondents. Findings: The survey results were collected and then linear regression analysis was performed and modeling was performed using the binomial logit model. Data analysis was carried out from questionnaire data distributed to 100 respondents. The results of linear regression analysis using the SPSS program obtained a mode selection model, namely (UMRT-UTJ) = -2.331 + 0.000X1 + 0.040X2 + 0.820X3, where X1 is the travel cost variable, X2 is the travel time variable and X3 is the waiting time variable. The conclusion obtained from the results of this study is that the MRT is the most preferred mode of public transportation compared to Transjakarta in this new normal era. Research limitations/implications: Although most of the enterprises surveyed have an idea how to respond to calamities and mitigate disastrous situations, this research argues that a solid policy framework might be drawn through the local government units concerned to institutionalized this effort. Practical implications: The convenience factor is the main factor for public transport users to choose the MRT, while the travel cost factor is the main factor for public transport users to choose Transjakarta. Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine and analyze the effect of advertising promotion strategies and sales promotions through social media marketing on the sales volume of small and medium enterprises after the Covid 19 pandemic. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses quantitative research methods and includes explanatory research because this study intends to explain the causal relationship between variables through hypothesis testing using partial least squares path modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis techniques. The population is MSMEs that use promotional strategies to increase sales volume where the population size is not known with certainty, so for determining the sample using the Chocran formula and based on these calculations, in this study the number of samples used was 100 respondents. Findings: Based on the results of hypothesis testing using SEM-PLS, it is known that the effect of advertising on social media marketing has a significance of 0.04 which is smaller than 0.05. The test results of the influence of Advertising on Sales Volume show a significance scores of 0.19 which is greater than 0.05 and this is in accordance with the facts on the ground due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is no advertising ability from MSMEs. The test results of the influence of sales promotion on social media marketing show a significance scores of 0.00 which is lower than 0.05. The test results of the influence of sales promotion on sales volume showed a significance scores of 0.00 lower than 0.05. The test results of the influence of social media marketing on sales volume show a significance scores of 0.00 which is lower than 0.05. The effect of X1 on Sales Volume (Z) through social media marketing (Y) is only 7.2%. This effect is small, positive and not significant, as well as the effect of Sales Promotion (X2) on Sales Volume (Z) through social media marketing (Y) of 13%, This effect is small, positive and insignificant. However, the total effect of X1 on Z is 0.202, which means that if X1 increases by one unit, Z can increase directly and indirectly through Y by 20.2%. This effect is Sales Volume (Z), which means that if X2 increases by one unit, Z can increase directly and indirectly through Y by 57.7%. To increase the sales volume of MSMEs after the COVID-19 pandemic, it is necessary to increase the ability of MSMEs to advertise through social media marketing without paying by creating attractive and effective sales promotion strategies in the form of news through social media which can have an impact on increasing MSME sales volume. Abstract

The environmentally friendly lightweight material is a concept for developing construction material technology. One way is to reduce density by using plastic waste such as Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) as the concrete aggregate. Although on the other hand, the mechanical value has decreased significantly. This research explains the development of lightweight concrete, EPS (BREA), which uses Modified EPS waste as coarse aggregate and pumice sand as fine material, obtained locally from Tidore Island. The mixture composition used in this study was 1 Cement: 2 Sand: 3 MEPS, where the compressive strength test was carried out to see its mechanical behaviour. The research shows that the composition above reduces the volume weight and compressive strength values by 56.12% and 78.46%, respectively, compared to normal concrete.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper identify major objectives as yardsticks to juxtapose our arguments throughout the study, examining the implications of IR 4.0 for higher education and entrepreneurship education by reviewing Nigeria’s and Malaysia’s national development plans to determine their relevance to IR 4.0. Design/methodology/approach: In view of the complexities generated by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0), which affects every sector including entrepreneurship and education, this study undertakes a systematic literature review to ascertain the facts and discuss concepts related to higher education and entrepreneurship, particularly the role of IR 4.0 in changing and modifying the direction of entrepreneurship. Findings: The study also highlights the approaches adopted and challenges encountered by universities in their implementation of entrepreneurship education, considering the job market disparities mentioned earlier. The paper conclude that it is imperative for both countries to instill the virtues of entrepreneurship education in their students, in order to prepare them for the challenges and needs of IR 4.0. Research limitations/implications: This problem is largely associated with the weak approach adopted by universities in equipping students with the necessary entrepreneurial skills for today’s highly competitive industrialized era, and not in any way related to the students themselves. Practical implications: Thousands of students graduate every year from Malaysia and Nigerian universities and other higher institutions across the globe. However, the availability of job vacancies in government and other sectors is insufficient to match the number of graduates produced annually.
