This research is aimed at investigating the implementation of autonomous learning. Autonomous learning consists of three aspects: self-planning, self-monitoring, and self-evaluating. This research is a use a mixed-method sequential explanatory design. The subject of the research is 24 students of the first grade students of junior high school. The writer observed the classroom, and also gave a set of questionnaire to the students to find out whether they are an autonomous learner or not. The result showed that in self-planning aspect, 56.83% students are self-planned; they are categorized into “poorâ€. In self-monitoring aspect, 81.85% students are self-monitored; they are categorized into “goodâ€. In self-evaluating aspect, 62.53% students are self-evaluated; they are categorized into “fairâ€. So, the students got good category in self-monitoring aspect, whereas for self-planning and self-evaluating must be improved.

This research aims to know enhancement the Student's writing ability by using wordless picture book as a contributive learning media. The benefits of using wordless picture book show that the students enhance their writing ability and create their creative writing and thinking skill. The researcher applied quasi-experimental method, with two groups namely experimental and control class. The experimental class consists of 30 students and control clas consists of 30 students. The subjects of the research were 60 students from two classes taken from students of SMP Negeri 10 Parepare. The research instrument was writing test in which the comparison of pre-test and post-test decided the enhancement of the Student's writing ability. The results of the data analysis showed that the Student's writing ability getting significantly improvement. It was proved by the mean score of pre-test was 46.93 and the post-test was 80.00. It indicates that the use of wordless picture book can enhance the Student's writing ability at SMP Negeri 10 Parepare. Besides, after analyzing the data by using the t-test formula, the result of t-test value in post-test was 6.02 and t-table value was 1.671. It meant that the t-test value was higher than t-table value. It clarified H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected and the students who were taught by using wordless picture book were better than the students who were taught by using wordless picture book.

This research aims to investigate the teacher's written corrective feedback toward the students’ translation improvement. It is focused on the student's translation on lexical and grammatical mistakes in translating the source text into the target text. Translation is an activity that aims to facilitate the communication process by interpreting the information received in one language into another language. However, the mistakes while translating cannot be avoid by the translator or the students. The students are commonly done mistakes lexically and grammatically. To overcome the mistakes, the teacher will be a facilitator in correcting the student's translation. Implementing of written corrective feedback is provided teacher to correcting the student's mistakes by writing their comments, correction of errors, etc on the student's writing translation. Based on the analysis, the result indicates that the students make mistakes in translating, the students are most commonly made some mistakes in lexical and grammatical errors.

This research was aimed to know the empirical evidence about the improvement of the students’ English vocabulary through Clustering technique and picture as a media at the First Grade Students of Madrasah Mu’alliminn Mu’allimat Bahrul ‘Ulum Tambakberas Jombang. The problem of the study was how to improve student’s English vocabulary through Clustering Technique and Picture as a media. This pre-experimental research is quantitative and the data taken from the pre-test and post-test and test sheet is used as the instrumentation. The result showed that the use of clustering technique and picture as a media in teaching vocabulary mastery increased. It can be seen from the students’ score of pre-test is 46.73, meanwhile the mean score of post-test is 73.67. The effectiveness of using this technique and media is implemented from students’ scores which are increased after learning vocabulary by using collaboration between clustering technique and picture as a media.

A text deserves comprehensive analyses on its textual structure as well as socio-cultural context to meet readers’ comprehension. This paper aims at (1) finding out linguistic styles of the texts and (2) identifying power struggle behind an argumentative text entitled Computer for Children: Advantages or Drawbacks? used to the third students of Informatics Engineering Department at a private university in South Tangerang, Indonesia as a material in learning argumentative text. This is a critical discourse analysis by using Fairclough’s model which consists of description, interpretation, and explanation. In analyzing the text, systemic functional linguistics is used to find out the texts’ power as well as to determine whether the texts are adoptable for the students to learn argumentative texts. The analysis concludes that (1) formal, complex, verbal, repetitive, multi-perspective, evident-based, metaphorical, and over-wording dictions underpinned in an institutionalized social activity and unspecialized semantic domain dominate the texts which conclude that (2) its power to the readers is all equal that the author provoked rather than provided, evident-based and analytical arguments of the issue.

Enhancing the quality of education in particular to improve the quality of students, a teacher must also improve their selves to delivering better learning innovations and one of those efforts by Using appropriate learning strategies so that the material delivered by the teacher can be young to be understood by students. The strategy in question is communicating with humor. The use of humor in the learning process is a medium for educators to students in transferring their knowledge because with humor can create better communication so that the classroom atmosphere is more comfortable. The purpose of this research had three important stages, including 1) to find out a lecture communication with students can be better so that through communication with humor can reduce the problem of lecturers with Students of which currently margined violence cases between lecturers and students, 2) increased achievement of learners learning because through humor communication through joy full learning students will learn more relaxed without any pressure so Easier to do tasks, 3) increased achievement and interest in students ' study in English courses as a General basic course. The method used in this research was the experimental Research design (quasi) method using the control class and experiment class. The study used three research instruments: interview, student observation (participant observation), student learning results. The results showed that there were differences in the pre-test and post-test values in experimental classes and the control class as well as the results of independent analysis of T-test result of Sig (2-tailed) 0.00 where the result of this value is smaller than 0.05. Indicates there is a significant difference between the Ecperimental and control classes in terms of application of the Stratei Learning Joyfull Learning-based humor to increase the interest and achievement of English learning as a public course in students STIE Yapman Majene.

This paper attempts to improve the pre-service teachers based on student's learner Autonomy. The EFL classroom by first describing the role of translation in EFL learning, then exploring Learner Autonomy can be regarded as an effective teaching method to elevate student's Translation skill. Research setting at West-Sulawesi University, Majene West Sulawesi. The method was used pre-experimental design by one group pretest and posttest. Over 22 students programming Translation were the samples of this study by using purposive sampling technique. To collect the data, researchers used translation test as instrument, it was applied on pretest and posttest. To improve student's skill towards Translation, Learner Autonomy was implemented for 12 meetings within 4 months. The notion of learner independence or learner autonomy moves into an area where learners can direct their own learning particularly in translating the sentences and text provided during the class. It could mean those learning activities which take place without the immediate intervention of the teacher. In this scenario, learners set their own objectives and follow strategies devised by them to fulfill them. This is in turn facilitates the learner to become more efficient and effective when they study independently. Learners are compelled to assume responsibility for their own learning. The result of this study was Learner Autonomy successfully elevated the pre-service teacher's Translation.

Teachers play a very important role in the teaching and learning process. They should utilize effective strategies that are included in classroom management. In this digital era, the teachers should adjust their methods in delivering or explaining the materials for the students. One of the technology is the web. The aim of this study is to investigate the teacher’s perceptions of using the web to enhance students’ English speaking skills. This study was under phenomenological qualitative research and characterized by an interdisciplinary approach, especially education and technology. The direct personal interview was utilized to obtain the information from the teacher. The survey encompasses twelve questions that become different categories and was done in eight grades of class B in SMP Negeri 3 Pleret. The results showed that teaching speaking using the web can effectively enhance the students’ English speaking skills and the students give positive reactions regarding this method.

Nowadays the classroom management is very important for the teacher. In Indonesia, the class had several categories. Namely, international class and regular class. The teacher need to be aware of this phenomenon. They should established some strategies in order to manage their class. The population in Indonesian school nowadays was various. There are small and large classes. On this research, the researchers would like to know what kind of strategies that the teacher used in managing the large class. On this research, the researcher used Qualitative approach in the form of Descriptive qualitative design. The result found that there are many strategies that the teacher can use in managing the large class.

novice teachers, strategies, large class.This research reports which aimed to analyze strategies of novice teachers used in the large classroom management. This work is a comprehensive case study covering all teachers who play an important role in their classroom management. The case study on this research focused on Junior High School novice teachers in Yogyakarta. The researcher choose this school because it has large class that can support the researcher in collecting the data. The subject of this research consists of five novice teachers. The data was gathered through observation and interview. This study indicated the perspectives of the novice teachers in large classroom.The result showed that the teachers mostly divide or organize the students by grouping them, monitoring them to check students’ work and to keep the class calm, give them positive punishment to students who misbehave, and using some teaching method to make students active during the teaching and learning process.
