Abstract

BUMDes Harapan Makmur was established with the aim of developing the village's economic potential through business units based on local resources, including the management of agricultural tools, trade in agricultural products, and equipment and transportation rental services. The businesses run by BUMDes have not yet been operating optimally. This is due to a lack of competent human resources, a lack of external support, and limited access to training and outreach at BUMDes Harapan Makmur. This community service program aims to identify strategic steps to increase the capacity of BUMDes management for suntainability. The methods used in the preparation stage included surveys and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), while the implementation and evaluation stages followed. The training results indicated that BUMDes Harapan Makmur has several potential business units that can be developed, namely the Rice Milling Unit (RMU), a 5-hectare oil palm plantation, agriculture and livestock businesses, oil palm plantations (5 ha) and rice fields (70 ha), provision of agricultural production facilities (saprodi), agricultural services (RMU, rice field plowing), and travel services. Implications in increasing the capacity of administrators through capacity building training for administrators, optimization of agricultural tools and agricultural inputs, socialization and community empowerment

Abstract

The people of Sukamakmur Village, Ciomas, West Java, face limited access to health care and clean water. This problem has resulted in a decreased quality of life, increased risk of water-based diseases, and low public understanding of clean and healthy lifestyles. This community service program attempts to provide solutions through the implementation of IoT Sterilization and Water Purifier technology at the Kemuning 1A Integrated Health Post (Posyandu). The goal is to improve Posyandu health services, ensure the availability of clean drinking water, and empower Posyandu cadres to be independent in the use and maintenance of technology. This is in line with SDG 3 (Healthy and Prosperous Life) and SDG 6 (Clean Water and Adequate Sanitation) through training and mentoring activities on the use of IoT Sterilization and Water Purifier devices, as well as socialization and counseling on healthy lifestyles and the importance of clean drinking water to support the realization of a healthy and prosperous life. The activity methods include socialization, cadre training, mentoring on the use of tools, technology application, and program evaluation and replication. In terms of increasing community knowledge through the transfer of IoT Sterilization technology to sterilize and kill microbes, positive behavioral changes in water use and management, the community's ability to operate and maintain equipment independently, and cadres acting as health education facilitators, the empowerment of partners in the social aspect of the community has increased from 20% to 80%. Meanwhile, in terms of improving management capabilities, this is reflected in the availability of clean water access directly at the Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), the development of documentation and program models that can be adapted by other Posyandus, resulting in an increase in partner empowerment in the management aspect from 35% to 85%.

Abstract

This activity explores the ethnolinguistic aspects of Tontemboan language expressions in cooking sende'eng in the community of Tombasian Bawah Village. Using a qualitative ethnolinguistic approach, this activity reveals that variations in ingredients, cooking methods, and food presentation are not only culinary choices, but also carry linguistic meanings that reflect the mindset and cultural identity of the community. These findings demonstrate how traditional cooking practices serve as a means to preserve and convey cultural heritage. This activity also emphasizes the importance of language in expressing the cultural values and traditions of the community. By documenting these linguistic expressions, this activity provides insight into the cultural significance of sende'eng and its role in the community of Tombasian Bawah Village. In addition, this activity highlights the importance of maintaining minority languages through documentation and research such as this. In the context of cooking sende'eng, Tontemboan language expressions play a key role in communicating cooking techniques, ingredients, and philosophies that are passed down from generation to generation. This activity contributes to a deeper understanding of the relationship between language, culture, and food, showing how traditional cooking practices serve as a medium to preserve and convey cultural heritage.

Abstract

The construction industry has a high rate of workplace accidents due to the low compliance of workers in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). To address this issue, a community service program was conducted in the form of training on the introduction and simulation of PPE usage aimed at improving the knowledge, skills, and awareness of construction workers. The program was implemented using an educational–participatory approach through four stages: needs analysis, occupational safety counseling, simulation-based field practice training, and evaluation with monitoring. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge by 36,48%, from an average pre-test score of 56.33% to 95,81%, and an improvement in compliance with PPE usage by 36.42%. Moreover, 92,22% of participants reported becoming more disciplined in using PPE after the training. This program demonstrates that simulation-based methods effectively foster safe work behavior. It is recommended that similar training be conducted regularly, supported by internal supervision and reminder posters to strengthen a sustainable safety culture.

Starting from designing greeting cards, posters, brochures, infographics, to presentations. Canva is currently available in several versions, namely the web, iPhone, and Android versions. In times like today, educational institutions provide lessons on how to design something to support teaching and learning activities, one of which is Higher Education. One example of community service made by Higher Education is providing training to the community or more precisely, health workers as a form of practice of the knowledge that has been given. This training activity also aims to make health workers more mature and ready to design posters or pamphlets related to household and environmental health as well as about the use of drugs. The results obtained are partners understand how to use the Canva graphic design application, from 25 (twenty-five) participants with a 'Very Good' score of 12%, a 'Good' score of 60%, a 'Medium' score of 28% and a 'Not Shown' score of 0%. Other results included teaching materials on Canva Graphic Design and an article for the Community Service Journal.
