Abstract

The Batching Plant establishment project of PT. Waskita Beton Precast, Tbk is aimed to meet the needs of its own ready mix concrete to develop 2 km of Manado-Bitung Toll Road. The establishment of this batching plant was caused by the worry that demand for concrete need with a volume of 73,000 m³ was not fulfilled which has been planned for the period of 33 months (June 2016 to December 2018). This temporary project evaluation is needed for assessing the time of return on investment capital and the achievement evaluation using investment criteria. Investment evaluation used 3 (three) analytical techniques commonly used in Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA), namely Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Cost-Benefit Ratio (BCR). The investment evaluation results showed that the decision criteria with NPV of Rp. 3,721,209,360.08, where NPV> 0, IRR of 107.82%, gave the value of IRR > 4.92% and with BCR of 1.054, gave the value of BCR> 1. All calculation results showed the value of the criteria that the Batching Plant Project of PT. Waskita Beton Precast, Tbk is eligible and makes a profit.

Abstract

Jada Bahrin village produces vegetables, rubber, pepper, and pineapple. The people in this village work as a farmer, fisherman, trader, and entrepreneur. They face a big problem to get water in dry season. They only rely on artificial pond to collect and distribute the water to the people. The goals of this study is to know the average daily water demand at present and the prediction of water needs for the next 10 years as well as the factors that influence the water needs in Jada Bahrin. Data for analysis were gathered by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Based on the analysis, the average daily water demand of each person in Jada Bahrin Village was 107.83 liters/person/day (Ipoph) and the prediction of the total water needs of Jada Bahrin Village in the next 10 years (2028) was 2.43 liters/second. Abstract

Concrete Beams can experience a sudden collapse when overload because of its brittle characteristic. The use of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) on concrete beams externally as external confinement is predicted to improve concrete mechanics properties, increase the ductility and capacity of concrete, and the flexural strength of concrete beams. An experimental study on the reinforcement of concrete beams with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) was carried out to estimate the effectiveness of CFRP on concrete structures as a concrete beam flexural reinforcement material. Two types of concrete beams are provided in this study to test the flexural strengthening effect of the externally bound CFRP composite. First type of concrete beam used for testing is a normal concrete beams, whereas the second tested beam, the CFRP was laminated by coating the beams with Fiber. The dimensions of both types are 15cm x15cm with a length of 55cm footing range. Testing result obtained the compressive strength was 23,29 MPa, flexural strength of normal and CRFP concretes were 33,41 Kg/cm2 and 48,07 Kg/cm2 respectively. It was concluded that the use of CRFP at the concrete beam increases flexural strength up to 44% with the ratio of 143 %.

Abstract

The Kelingi Tugumulyo Irrigation Area is a permanent weir irrigation that runs through the building for the Satan Muara Beliti Water channel. Secondary Air Satan Muara Beliti channel has 5 buildings with the main function to flow the water through the rice fields in the Mara Beliti sub-district. Problems that arise in the distribution of water are the loss of irrigation water due to the pool of swift water and infiltration of water into the soil if the soil is saturated. These problems cause a lack of discharge for the fulfillment of irrigation water due to water loss in the secondary channel. The method used in assessing the Evaluation of Irrigation Water Provision from the Watervang Dam for Satan Water Secondary Channels was by analyzing the data of maximum discharge, minimum discharge, and average discharge of the Watervang Dam as well as calculating water demand and water availability in the Satan Muara Beliti Water Irrigation Area. There are three results about Tanah Priuk 1 weir channel (BTP1) condition. First, based on the plan discharge, according to the Kelugi Tugumulyo Irrigation network scheme, debit from BTP 1 to BTP 2 was 30.10 l/s, whereas the result from field calculation through the use of current meter was 7.89 l/sec; it means the lack of water from the plan for BTP 1 - BTP 2 which is 22.21 l/sec. Second, the debit from BTP 2 to BTP 3 was 10.80 l/sec, whereas the result from field calculation through the use of current meter was 6.20 l/s; it means the lack of water from the plan for BTP 2 - BTP 3 was 4.60 l/sec. Third, the debit from BTP 4 to BTP 5 was 11.10 l/sec, whereas the result from field calculation through the use of current meter was 6.92 l/s; it means the lack of water from the plan for BTP 4 - BTP 5 was 4.18 l/sec . It concluded that the secondary channel from BTP 5 to the village of Bali has insufficient water.

Abstract

A Construction of buildings on the beach is needed to provide facilities and infrastructure. An analysis of bearing capacity and foundation settlement for building construction is necessary to avoid structural failure. This study analyzed bearing capacity and foundation settlement on the East coast of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Island Province, including Tikus Beach, Takari Beach and Karang Mas Air Anyir Beach, based on field data from Cone Penetration Test (CPT). Result showed that the level of soil consistency, bearing capacity, and foundation settlement can be analyzed by combining the structural loads for the 1 to 5 floor buildings. Bearing capacity of shallow foundation was calculated using the Meyerhof (1976) method, whereas the deep foundation is using the Meyerhof (1956) method. Settlement of shallow foundation was calculated using the Steinbrenner (1934) method, whereas the deep foundation is using the Vesic (1970) method. This study found the soil consistency levels at three locations had the range from medium to hard level. The analysis of foundation bearing capacity showed that the greater of soil bearing capacity, the smaller of foundation dimensions. The greater the load that must be held by the foundation, the greater the size of the foundation needed to withstand it. The analysis of the settlement showed that the smaller of the soil bearing capacity, the greater of settlement. The greater the load that must be withheld by the foundation, the foundation settlement will greater.

Abstract

The provision of clean water is one of main priority for human life and health. it is not only prioritized in the cities but also in the rural areas. Clean water supply system is carried out by piping and non-piping systems. Whereas the piping system is managed by Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM), the non-piping system is managed by the community both individually and in groups. The clean water network in Desa Napal, Musi Banyuasin still uses a non-piping system and does not have a clean water network yet from the PDAM. The purpose of this study is to determine the clean water needs of Desa Napal both domestic and non-domestic and rural network planning of water supply through the Waternet program. The research methodology began with literature study, gathering information from survey, primary data collection in the form of non-domestic building data and pipe depth points, secondary data collection in the form of location maps, population and domestic buildings. Furthermore, the calculation of water needs and planning of the clean water network of Napal Village was done using the Waternet program. Results found that the total water needs of Napal village was 2.228 liters/second or can used water flow of 6 liters/second as planning. The clean water network in Napal village was planned to use pipe diameter of 50, 80, and 150. The pipeline network (Pressure/atm) in the Waternet program was ≤ 2, which showed that the network runs well.

Abstract

Construction of the Balikpapan - Samarinda toll road through hilly areas and valley or basin areas. At Sta. 2 + 850 to Sta. 3 + 050 passing through the area it is necessary to reach the finished class required a high level of landfill. Embankment on the Balikpapan - Samarinda toll road construction project has been carried out, but the results are less than perfect so that there is currently damage to the area. Damage that occurred in the form of sinkhole, cracked soil and landslides in the original soil layer / base deep enough to cause the structure of the box culvert that stands on it damaged (box culvert broken and shifted). To improve and to ensure the stability of the structure in the future (box culvert and high landfill), it is necessary to do geotechnical engineering in the form of slope reinforcement technology using reinforcement material (borepile) that is plugged into the ground until it passes through the skid. Technical review of landslides handling at Sta. 2 + 850 to Sta. 3 + 050 using existing soil parameters and modeling using the plaxis program version 8.20. The result of the calculation of landslide handling before the alternative treatment is obtained the total displacement is 0.109 m and SF = 1.139, this shows that the pile of work in the field is still quite critical in terms of design. When reinforced with borepile (either single or double borepile) placed on the berm section obtained a safe number of SF = 1.779 (single) and SF = 1.796 (double), this shows that the number of bored piles is insignificant and the reinforcement is very effective or useful if placed in the berm section. Based on the safe figures obtained, the landslide handling solution uses doubel borepile.

Abstract

Errors in planning the spaces/distances between the bolts can weaken or create defects in the connection. Therefore, a research on the effect of bolt space on shear strength of bolt joints on steel plates is needed to find out the influence of the distance between bolts to the strength of double bolt joints on steel plate joints, whereas the long-term goal of this study is to determine the effect of the distance between bolts to the strength of the bolt connection in a plate connection system having more than two bolts. In the planning, the connection used bolt connecting devices that meet SNI 1729:2015 requirements. A tensile testing machine was used and the direct test method was conducted for shear strength of bolts in the plate joint system using two bolts. The bolt sample was installed in the plate connection system then the connection system was given a tensile load until it broke in the bolt sample. The peak load of the experimental results indicated the shear strength of the double bolt connection on the plate fluctuates. Average peak load for the sample of group I (20 mm bolt space), group II (40 mm bolt space), group III (60 mm bolt space), group IV (80 mm bolt space) and group V (100 mm bolt space) are 21.962 kN, 23.512 kN, 22.925 kN, 23.725 kN and 22.975 kN, respectively. The experimental results from each sample group showed the average peak load strength was greater than the theoretical shear strength value of 17.4974 kN.

Abstract

Rapid development in Bekasi City, Indonesia, requires the support of adequate facilities and infrastructure, including the availability of raw water. Raw water potential for Bekasi City is very limited. Therefore, this study aims to examine the potential of Bekasi River as a source of raw water for Bekasi City. Therefore, this study aims to examine the potential of Bekasi River as a source of raw water for Bekasi City. Research methodologies include secondary data collection, water availability analysis using dependable flow (weibull method), water demand analysis, water balance analysis (water balance), storage capacity analysis, water quality analysis. Result showed that Bekasi River water is not enough in quantity to meet the raw water needs for Bekasi City. Water balance showed that in 2024 there will be a lack of water for the scenarios Q50, Q80, and especially in Q90. In order to meet the water need in Bekasi City, water reservoir engineering is needed with a storage volume of 176 million m3. Bekasi River water does not meet class 1 quality standards in terms of quality, so efforts are needed to control water pollution in the Bekasi River.

Abstract

The elevated road construction which is originally intended to overcome congestion at the intersection of the highway/train, actually sometimes worsen the congestion that exists during the construction period. Therefore, a new construction method and technology is needed to minimize the congestion and provide a short construction period. CSS-Mortar Foam is a new technology introduced by the Research Center of the Ministry of PUPR (Pusjatan) in 2016 which has been applied to the construction of the Antapani flyover in Bandung. A study is needed to compare the construction cost of this technology with the technology of the overpass structure which is commonly used, namely PCI-Girder. Data collection process in this study are planning and DED data, inventory of work items and volumes, and the unit price. The next step is the construction-costs calculation process of the proposed alternative-construction types. The calculation of construction costs was carried out using the Work Unit Price Analysis (AHSP) which is developed by the Directorate General of Highways based on the third revision of 2010 General Specifications. The results showed that the alternative CSS-Mortar Foam construction types was able to reduce the construction costs of flyovers by 44.7% compared to the PCI-Girder construction type. Thus, CSS-Mortar Foam construction can be used as a more efficient alternative for flyovers/bridges construction.
