Management and Economics Journal (MEC-J) is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that focuses on management and economics fields. Abstract

The National Zakat Index is a measure of performance in zakat management. With good zakat management performance, it is expected to support the implementation of sustainable development goals (SDGs). The purpose of the study was to analyze the performance of zakat management in the City of Kediri BAZNAS based on the IZN approach and analyze its implications for SDGs' achievement. This research uses a mixed-methods approach. Non-statistical quantitative methods and non-parametric qualitative methods. The results of this study in the 2019 value of IZN is not good. Macro dimension values with index are not acceptable. Besides, the database of zakat institutions is not good. Furthermore, the micro dimension, the performance of BAZNAS in Kediri City, is quite good. The influence of the performance of zakat management on the achievement of SDGs using the ANP method. Namely, the zakat program clusters occupy the priority of the Kediri program care, besides that the SDGs cluster is without poverty. The reason is the principle of zakat distribution in the City Board of Kediri prioritizing daruriyah (primary needs). Furthermore, the preferred strategy is cooperation with the government and stakeholders.

Abstract

This research as a purpose to analyze the effect of trading volume activity and external factors such as exchange rates, BI Rate to composite stock price index listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. The object of this research is on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Bank Indonesia. In this study, the data used were time-series data and the sampling method used was purposive sampling. The method of analysis used in this study is multiple regression models. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is known that the trading volume activity and BI Rate has no effect on the composite stock price index, while the exchange rate has a negative effect on the composite stock price index.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of social factors and brand image on decision making mediated by the attitude of parents of Al-Izzah Natural Elementary School, Sidoarjo Regency. The sampling technique is probability sampling and uses a saturated sampling method with a sample of 84 respondents. However, only 83 questionnaires can be processed using Partial Least Square. The results showed that social factors and brand image influence attitudes and decisions and attitudes also influence decisions. Looking at the mediating variables shows that attitudes give a partial mediating role to the influence of social factors and brand image on decisions. In further research, it is recommended to add new variables and the scope of the sample population to provide more complex and different results.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Self-financing on Training quality and the impact on learning motivation of trainees at UPT BLK Singosari-Malang. This research is important because in the researchers knowledge it has never been studied before and can contribute to Singosari BLK UPT to determine appropriate Self-financing and training. The study population was 60 participants who had attended training at UPT BLK Singosari during 2019 using Self-financing. Because the samples are small, this study uses a census sample, where a total of 60 people are sampled. Data collection uses a questionnaire. Data was obtained by distributing a list of questions about the Self-financing variable and Training quality in relation to learning motivation to respondents. The data obtained were analyzed by multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The results showed that Self-financing directly has a significant effect on Training quality variable. Self-financing directly has a significant effect on variable Learning motivation. The Training quality directly has a significant effect on Learning motivation variable. Self-financing indirectly has a significant effect on Learning motivation mediated by Training quality.

Abstract

This study intended to determine the impact of motivation, discipline, job satisfaction to performance of women lecturers of PH private university. The background of this study because women lecturers who have motivation, discipline, job satisfaction is expected to show their best performance. The study was conducted with quantitative methods, using questionnaires with five Likert scales distributed to 100 women lecturer from PH private university. Respondents had worked for at least two years as a permanent employee. This study used convenience random sampling and SEM PLS for data processing purpose. The results showed that motivation, discipline, job satisfaction have a positive effect on the performance of women lecturer PH university. The research is expected to provide input for the university to manage performance through motivation, discipline, job satisfaction of women lecturer

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of four types of organizational cultures and supplier integration to supply chain performance. The methodology of this research is an explanatory study by testing two hypotheses. The data’s were collected from a convenience samples of 171 manufacturing companies of total 850 companies in Kepulauan Riau Province being represented by manager in supply chain management divisions. Data’s were collected using questionnaire and technical data analysis using SEM (Structural Equation Model). The result of this study found that: (1) Group Culture and Rational Culture affect Supply Chain Performance positively and significantly  but Development Culture and Hierarchical Culture are not significant; (2) Supplier Integration affects Supply Chain Performance positively and significantly. The managerial implication of this research is as a guidance for decision maker in the company or manager in the supply chain management to implement suitable organizational culture and consider the supplier integration as a strategic to improve Supply Chain Performance.

Abstract

The importance of understanding economic literacy, controlling lifestyle, and enhancing student entrepreneurial intentions should not be overlooked. This study aimed to determine the impact of understanding economic literacy and lifestyle on student entrepreneurial intentions. This research is included in a quantitative descriptive study using multiple regression analysis techniques. This study's population were all students of economic education at Lambung Mangkurat University, as many as 267 students. The sample size taken was 157 people by random sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire. This study's results indicate that students' economic literacy has a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions, lifestyle has a positive and significant impact on students' entrepreneurial intentions, and simultaneously economic literacy and lifestyle have a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial intentions. The coefficient of determination of economic literacy and lifestyle on entrepreneurial intentions is 38%. From these results, it can be concluded that economic literacy and lifestyle positively and positively impact entrepreneurial intentions.

Abstract

Today every company is trying to maximize the value of its company. Disclosure of company information is expected to be able to maximize the value of the company, including Good Corporate Governance (GCG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Financial Performance of the Company. The purpose of this study is to find out that CSR and GCG as moderating variables can strengthen or weaken the significance of the effect of financial performance (profitability, size, leverage, slack resources, and institutional ownership) on company value. This type of research is explanatory research; the population in this study are all Pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Determination of the sample is done using the purposive sampling method. Data analysis uses Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with the help of SPSS software. The results of this study indicate. First, Financial Performance profitability, size, leverage, and slack resources have a significant effect on company value in pharmaceutical companies. Second, CSR and GCG variables can strengthen the influence of Financial Performance that is proxied by profitability, size, leverage, slack resources, and institutional ownership of company value in pharmaceutical companies listed on the IDX.

Abstract

This study aims to examine factors affecting employee engagement at ABC company. This study was done in a quantitative manner. There were five variables used, including goal setting, job autonomy, strategic attention, role benefit, and employee engagement. The data was collected by using a questionnaire distributed to all 100 employees at ABC company (census). The questionnaire also covered the respondents’ profile including their gender, age, educational background, and length of work. The data was analyzed by using PLS-SEM in SmartPls program. The results conclude that goal setting, job autonomy, strategic attention, and role benefit were positively influenced employee engagement at  ABC company. The contribution of this study is to give input for managerial  ABC company and other oil companies in maintaining employee engagement.

Abstract

Industrial cosmetics growth has increased every year. This situation makes a tight competition among the Cosmetic companies. Cosmetic companies try to create customer loyalty so they could sustain their business. Prior studies have examined variables that affect customer loyalty, yet only few studies have examined the effect of brand image, brand love and customer engagement in creating customer loyalty. This study aims to determine the effect of brand image, brand love, and customer engagement on customer loyalty of consumer Wardah Cosmetics in Malang. This study was explanatory with a quantitative approach and survey methode conducted on 150 respondents in Malang. Nonporbability sampling with purposive sampling technique was used. Data analysis process used by Partial Least Square (PLS). Results reveal that brand image and brand love has simultaneously significant effect on customer engagement. Brand love has significant effect on customer loyalty while brand image has no significant effect on customer loyalty. Customer engagement was also found to act as a mediator in this study. The results also reveal that customer engagement influences customer loyalty. The results of this study can prove helpful to practitioners about enhancing loyalty in their company based on brand image, brand love and customer engagement. The result of the research can also be a reference for future research.
