Abstract

This development research aims to develop Flipbook learning media. This research is a research and development (R&D) study using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages, namely: (1) Analysis; (2) Design; (3) Development; (4) Implementation; (5) Evaluation. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. The results of the study show that (1) the average validation score was 84% (highly valid), (2) the average questionnaire score was 89% (highly practical), and (3) the N-gain score was 84% (effective). Based on this data, it can be concluded that the Flipbook learning media can be used in the Informatics learning process in Grade VIII at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Baranti Sidenreng Rappang Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of zig-zag running practice on dribbling ability in total football schools in Palopo City. The method applied in this study is quantitative with an experimental design that includes pre-test and post-test in one experimental group. The research activity was carried out for a month in Gaspa, Palopo City, involving twenty athletes who were selected using purposive sampling techniques, namely based on criteria that were in accordance with the research objectives. The tools used include stopwatches, balls, cones, whistles, as well as books and pens, which are designed to assess dribbling skills through five key indicators: speed, strength, balance, and movement coordination. Data was collected by conducting skills tests, direct observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistical tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests using SPSS software. The results showed a significant improvement in dribbling ability after zig-zag run exercises, with an average pre-test score of 24.7490 which increased to 22.6675 at the post-test. The results of the t-test gave a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), which showed a significant impact of the zig-zag run exercise on dribbling ability at the Palopo total football school.

Abstract

The use of digital technology in elementary school teaching is becomingincreasingly important for increasing student learning interest. However, itsimplementation is not yet optimal and continues to face various challenges. Thepurpose of this study is to analyze the digital technology used, its impact on studentlearning interest, and the obstacles encountered in the learning process. Themethodology used included a literature review, evaluating relevant journals, books,and research reports. The results indicate that digital technologies such asinteractive learning videos, educational games, quiz applications, and onlinelearning platforms can increase student motivation, participation, and engagement.The visualization and interactivity of digital media encourage more active studentparticipation and facilitate understanding of learning content. However, variousobstacles also arise, such as limited teacher skills, inadequate infrastructure, andthe risk of disrupting student concentration. This study concludes that digitaltechnology can effectively increase student learning interest when supported byqualified teachers, adequate infrastructure, and appropriate learning strategies.

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools ideally provides concrete learning experiences through direct interaction with objects in the surrounding environment. However, initial observations in Grade IV at SDN Gudang Garam, Keerom Regency, showed that the learning process was still dominated by lecture methods and textbook-based instruction, resulting in low student engagement and learning outcomes that had not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This condition indicates the need for a more contextual learning strategy that can actively engage students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using environmental media in improving science learning outcomes among fourth-grade students. The research employed a quantitative method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The sample consisted of 25 fourth-grade students at SDN Gudang Garam selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was a science achievement test consisting of 20 validated multiple-choice items. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test to determine significant differences between pretest and posttest scores. The results showed an increase in the average score from 63.2 in the pretest to 82.4 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 19.2 points. The t-test yielded a value of t-count = 6.78 > t-table = 2.06 at a 0.05 significance level, indicating a significant difference between scores before and after the application of environmental media. These findings demonstrate that utilizing the environment as a learning medium is effective in improving students’ science learning outcomes.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding in organic waste management through the implementation of a Scientific Approach-Integrated Project-Based Learning model. Conducted over three sessions with 32 fifth-grade students at SDN Jati Pulo 01 Pagi, this study employed a composting project using Takakura composters as the main learning activity. Data collection encompassed observation, conceptual tests, and project assessment. Findings demonstrated substantial improvements in learning motivation, collaborative skills, and conceptual grasp of recycling principles. The primary achievement manifested in students' capacity to connect theoretical knowledge with practical implementation. The study concludes that the integrated PjBL model effectively creates meaningful learning experiences in environmental education. Recommended follow-up measures include establishing a continuous monitoring program and disseminating the model across school levels.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the definition and characteristics of a qualitative approach in educational research, the basic concepts of qualitative research, its implementation in educational research, the challenges in qualitative educational research, and the contributions and benefits of a qualitative approach. This research is a library research, by searching for and analyzing relevant literature. The method used to collect data is documentation, through archives and books related to theories, arguments, laws, and research issues. From this study, the following results were obtained: First , qualitative research aims to understand the subject's experience through behavior, perception, and action. This is done by describing it using words. In addition, this study also describes and analyzes natural social phenomena and activities. Second, qualitative research uses an inquiry approach to understand certain ideas, symbols, and phenomena. This research has characteristics such as focusing on details, using various methods, and being natural and comprehensive. The quality of the research is presented in narrative form. Third, the application of a qualitative approach in educational research includes the methods used by researchers to collect and explain data. The implementation in educational research includes research planning, data collection techniques, data analysis, and validity and validity. Fourth, Some of the main challenges in qualitative research are researcher subjectivity and interpretative bias, difficulty maintaining data validity and credibility, long-term data collection, complexity of data analysis, limited field access, and difficulty generalizing research results. Fifth, Qualitative research is based on post-positivism, because this method is effective for studying natural objects, which is the opposite of experiments. The purpose of qualitative research can be seen from the description of the research object, revealing the meaning behind the phenomenon, and explaining the phenomena that occur.

Abstract

This study investigates the interplay between Conversation Analysis (CA) and Gricean maxims in the Based Indonesian Talks podcast episode “Why Opposition is Important?”. Eight excerpts were analyzed to examine how conversational structure and pragmatic strategies shape political discourse between the hosts, Panji Pragiwaksono and Andriy. The results show that 24 violations of Grice’s Cooperative Principle occurred throughout the episode, with the Maxim of Quantity being the most frequently violated (33.33%), followed by Relation, Quality, and Manner. CA findings reveal that these violations consistently align with identifiable interactional patterns, including extended turns, dispreferred responses, humor sequences, metaphorical statements, and minimal repair. Rather than indicating communicative breakdown, the maxim violations function as strategic resources that enhance persuasion, maintain humor, manage ideological contrast, and enable indirect political critique. The study concludes that pragmatic flexibility supported by orderly turn-taking and sequence organization allows speakers to address sensitive political issues while preserving conversational cooperation. This integrated CA–Grice approach provides deeper insight into how political commentary is constructed in informal podcast discourse.

Abstract

This study examines the development and application of realism in twenty-first-century education through a systematic review of ten articles published between 2020 and 2025. The main problem addressed in this study is the absence of a comprehensive mapping of how realism is integrated into modern educational demands, particularly those involving technology, evidence-based teaching, and contemporary curriculum design. Using a thematic literature review approach, this study analyzes the philosophical foundations, instructional implementation, curriculum relevance, and methodological perspectives presented in the selected studies. The findings demonstrate that realism emphasizes empirical facts, direct observation, and the linkage of concepts to real-world contexts, where concrete experiences enhance students’ conceptual understanding (Hafidhi et al., 2024; Arianti et al., 2024). In curriculum development, realism ensures that learning content aligns with societal needs and objective realities (Adyputri & Ismail, 2025), while in evidence-based teaching, it strengthens instructional decision-making through the use of data and empirical observations (Brooks & Carter, 2023; Smith, 2021). Furthermore, the philosophical and methodological contributions of Archer (2020) and Lourie and McPhail (2024) highlight the continued relevance of realism as an analytical framework in educational research. Overall, this study concludes that realism provides a vital foundation for promoting authentic, contextual, and empirical learning that aligns with twenty-first-century competencies, while also offering direction for further research and the development of educational practices grounded in objective reality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi konsumen kelas menengah terhadap Brand Image ERIGO dalam menerapkan strategi low-key luxury di tengah kondisi ekonomi yang tidak stabil. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap sepuluh responden yang merupakan konsumen produk ERIGO. Dengan metode analisis tematik, hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keputusan pembelian dipengaruhi oleh kualitas bahan, desain produk, dan harga yang kompetitif. Sebagian besar responden menyatakan bahwa ERIGO berhasil menampilkan kesan low-key luxury melalui desain sederhana namun elegan serta bahan berkualitas. Selain itu, ERIGO dinilai mampu menawarkan keseimbangan antara harga dan kualitas produk. Meski demikian, dalam kondisi ekonomi tidak stabil mayoritas responden mengutamakan kebutuhan primer dan mempertimbangkan pembelian ERIGO berdasarkan kebutuhan aktual. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peningkatan kualitas dan strategi komunikasi merek guna mempertahankan loyalitas konsumen kelas menengah di pasar yang kompetitif.

Abstract

Vocabulary learning (mufrodat) is a fundamental component in mastering the Arabic language; however, instructional practices at the elementary school level often rely on conventional methods such as memorization and repetitive drills without engaging contextualization. These conditions result in low interest and motivation among learners, as observed in Grade VI Salafiyah Ula Ma’had Za’adul Ma’ad Palembang. Limited variation in instructional media and strategies contributes to low learning engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes. As an effort to introduce instructional innovation, this study implements Wordwall media based on Game Based Learning as an innovative alternative in teaching mufrodat. This innovation offers an interactive learning experience through various educational games that enable students to learn actively, enjoyably, and in a structured manner. The study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Wordwall media integrated with Game Based Learning on students’ motivation and mufrodat learning outcomes. Through the application of this innovative media, students demonstrated increased interest, active participation, and better vocabulary comprehension compared to previous methods. The findings affirm that the innovative use of interactive digital, game-based media can serve as an effective solution to enhance the quality of Arabic language instruction in elementary schools, particularly in vocabulary learning.
