Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study aims to determine the effect of using a mini shopping wallet on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Indonesian Language subject. The background of this research is the low interest and understanding of students in writing, often making errors and lacking the courage to express ideas in writing. This quantitative research used an experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population was all fourth-grade students of Gugus 1 Tarutung Elementary School, and the sample was determined using purposive sampling, resulting in SDS HKBP Pearaja Tarutung as the experimental class. Data collection techniques involved multiple-choice questions in the form of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics, including the t-test. The results of the pre-test and post-test t-test showed a tcount of 2.032 and a ttable of 1.68, leading to the conclusion that there is an influence of the use of a mini shopping wallet on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students. The mean pre-test score was 42.857, and the mean post-test score was 70.85. The use of the mini shopping wallet, which is a concrete medium in the form of toy money, provides real learning experience and effectively increases student learning outcomes, especially in understanding the concept of writing currency values.

This study aims to describe the implementation of active learning strategies in improving the ability of fourth-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Terpadu Ponorogo to identify the main idea of a text. The research subjects consisted of 28 fourth-grade students. The strategies applied included the use of computer-based media, interactive questioning, and group discussion. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on the learning process and students’ responses throughout the activities. Data were collected through participatory observation, documentation, and teacher reflection. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the active learning strategies computer-based media, interactive questioning, and group discussion successfully enhanced students’ enthusiasm and engagement during the learning process. The use of computer-based media captured students’ attention and made reading activities more enjoyable. Interactive questioning helped strengthen students’ comprehension of the text, while group discussions provided opportunities for collaboration, idea sharing, and practicing main-idea identification more accurately. Students responded very positively to the strategies, as reflected in their increased participation, motivation, and confidence during reading activities. The study concludes that the implementation of active learning strategies can serve as an effective alternative for improving the quality of reading instruction in elementary schools.

The development of digital technology has transformed learning at the elementary school level, including the utilization of Youtube as a learning media. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of using Youtube in Grade VI elementary school learning through a literature review of 20 articles published between 2021 and 2025. The research employed a qualitative thematic synthesis approach to examine best practices, challenges, and implementation strategies of Youtube in Grade VI classrooms. The findings indicate that Youtube can enhance students’ learning outcomes, interest, and motivation when used systematically and integrated with active learning models such as Project-Based Learning, Problem-Based Learning, or Flipped Classroom. The teacher’s role is crucial in ensuring the successful use of this media, including curating content, light editing, creating curriculum-based playlists, and facilitating post-video reflection and discussion. Challenges identified include technological access limitations, internet quality, device availability, and content safety and appropriateness. Therefore, the effective use of Youtube in elementary education requires teacher readiness, infrastructure support, and school policies that ensure a safe and conducive digital learning environment. Overall, this study emphasizes that Youtube has great potential as an effective learning media if integrated with appropriate pedagogical strategies and supported learning conditions.

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini meliputi praktik pembelajaran masih didominasi pendekatan konvensional. Pendekatan pasif ini belum memenuhi tuntutan Standar Proses yang mewajibkan pembelajaran aktif, kontekstual, dan student-centered. Hal ini menandakan perlunya perbaikan dalam model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan yaitu untuk a) mengetahui implementasi Standar Proses pada tahap perencanaan dan pelaksanaan model Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan Model Kooperatif Tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT), b) perbedaan efektivitas antara Model Problem Based Learning dan Model Kooperatif Tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) terhadap hasil belajar kognitif IPAS siswa kelas V SD Swasta Tiara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-eksperimen Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V (N=50), dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen 1 (Problem Based Learning) dan kelas eksperimen 2 (Kooperatif Tipe Teams Games Tournament), yang diukur menggunakan pretest dan posttest pada materi rantai makanan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar pilihan ganda sebanyak 25 soal. Data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Prasyarat (Normalitas dan Homogenitas) dan Uji Hipotesis t-test, serta perhitungan N-Gain untuk melihat efektivitas peningkatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Standar Proses telah terpenuhi, dengan guru berhasil mengintegrasikan sintaks model dalam pembelajaran. Hasil perbandingan efektivitas peningkatan hasil belajar (N-Gain) menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat signifikan. Kelompok PBL mencapai rata-rata N-Gain 75,54% (Kategori Cukup Efektif), sementara kelompok Kooperatif Tipe Teams Games Tournament hanya mencapai 31,19% (Kategori Tidak Efektif). Disimpulkan bahwa Model PBL terbukti jauh lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman kognitif IPAS dibandingkan Model Kooperatif Tipe Teams Games Tournament dalam konteks pembelajaran ini.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Quranic Tahfidz Program at Insan Mulya Boarding School (IMBOS) Pringsewu in improving the spirituality and discipline of students. The background of this study highlights the importance of Islamic character education and the formation of spiritual personality through Quranic memorization, which is integrated with spiritual development. The IMBOS Tahfidz program is designed systematically and integratedly, encompassing all educational activities of students to achieve the stated objectives. A qualitative research method with a case study approach is used to explore the program's implementation in depth. Data collection is carried out through observations of the implementation of talaqqi, muraja'ah, ziyadah, and tasmi' in a small halaqah system, as well as analysis of the tiered evaluation system (daily, weekly, monthly) and the role of musyrif/musyrifah. The focus of observation also includes adequate tahfidz facilities and a conducive religious environment (bi'ah Qur'aniyah). The results of the study indicate that the IMBOS Tahfidz Program is very effective. The students' spiritual growth is evident in their strengthened relationship with Allah SWT, their devotion to worship, and their deepening religious understanding through the integration of memorization (tahfidz) and tafsir studies. Students' discipline also significantly improves, marked by adherence to schedules, good time management, and the development of consistency and independence, all rooted in spiritual awareness and moral responsibility. This program successfully shapes a holistic Quranic personality, where students' spirituality permeates the moral, emotional, and existential dimensions, creating students who are not only disciplined but also possess a high level of moral responsibility.

This study analyses curriculum reform and teacher readiness in the implementation of basic education in Indonesia and Singapore, focusing on factors that influence curriculum development, the characteristics of the Indonesian Merdeka Curriculum and the Singapore National Curriculum, and the challenges faced by teachers in teaching practice. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature review supplemented by in-depth interviews with primary school teachers from both countries. The findings of this study indicate significant efforts in Indonesia through the Merdeka Curriculum with an emphasis on flexibility, project-based learning, and strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile. However, its implementation still faces obstacles in the form of low teacher readiness, weak supervision, and limited resources. system, and high teacher readiness thanks to comprehensive training and adequate technological infrastructure. In contrast, Singapore has a standardised curriculum, a robust monitoring system, and highly prepared teachers thanks to comprehensive training and adequate technological infrastructure. However, teachers in Singapore face high work demands and rapid changes in education. The comparison shows that the success of curriculum reform is highly dependent on teacher competence, institutional support systems, and a consistent learning ecosystem from the central level to the school level. These findings emphasise the need to strengthen teacher capacity and school management so that curriculum implementation in Indonesia is more effective and sustainable.

This study aims to analyze the network of doctoral students in Islamic Religious Education at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya as an invisible college through promotional activities. Relational data on 79 collections of doctoral dissertations in the repository from 2012 to 2024 and 14 dissertations in hardcopy form in the Library under 2012 were analyzed using Social Network Analysis (SNA) with NodeXL and UCINET software. Cultural data from all dissertations were also used to understand the characteristics of invisible colleges in the form of study specializations. The results show that invisible colleges are formed through promotional activities with sub-groups that share common institutions, methods, and studies, where popular and strategic actors are promoters or co-promoters at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The actors play an important role in the network, while the isolated actors have the longest range. The findings also show indications of academic inbreeding. Invisible colleges are formed through promotional activities with key actors playing an important role in networking, as well as suggesting the use of new software and approaches for more in-depth analysis, expanding studies to other doctoral or comparative inter-institutional programs, and improving scientific documentation and archiving to support more comprehensive meta-analysis research.

This mini-research aims to comprehensively analyze the optimization of the role of all school members and the involvement of parents/guardians in the implementation of positive culture (budaya positif) in an urban primary school setting, specifically at SDN 1 Kota Baru, Bandar Lampung. The study is motivated by the fundamental transformation in Indonesian national education through the Merdeka Curriculum, which positions character building as a main pillar, realized through the Profile of Pancasila Students. The research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Headmaster's policy and support are crucial, but the effectiveness of collaboration between the school and parents in the urban context is not yet optimal. The implementation of positive culture, including the use of restitution and positive discipline, is understood and practiced by teachers, but factors such as limited educational staff and complex external influences pose specific challenges. The study concludes that optimalization requires a responsive model that addresses the urban context, focusing on effective coordination among school components and enhanced, consistent collaboration with parents to ensure the uniformity of values between school and home environments.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan literasi siswa dalam pembelajaran berbasis STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) sebagai upaya mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21 di sekolah dasar. Kemampuan literasi merupakan salah satu kompetensi dasar yang harus diperkuat pada diri peserta didik agar mereka mampu berpikir kritis dan kreatif, berkomunikasi secara efektif, serta berkolaborasi secara efisien dalam menghadapi tantangan era global. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Katolik I St. Yohanes Tomohon dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi langsung, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dikumpulkan dari guru dan siswa yang terlibat dalam kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis STEAM untuk mengkaji hubungan antara aktivitas pembelajaran, kemampuan literasi, dan kompetensi abad ke-21 yang muncul selama proses belajar berlangsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis STEAM dapat mendorong siswa untuk berpikir analitis dan kreatif melalui kegiatan eksploratif dan proyek kolaboratif. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan dalam mengintegrasikan literasi membaca dan literasi digital, yang perlu diperkuat melalui desain pembelajaran yang lebih sistematis dan penyediaan sumber belajar yang memadai. Dengan demikian, hasil observasi lapangan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan STEAM memiliki potensi signifikan sebagai strategi pedagogis yang efektif untuk menumbuhkan literasi dan keterampilan abad ke-21 dalam pendidikan sekolah dasar.

This study aims to implement the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model to increase environmental awareness among third-grade elementary school students through the topic of Environmental Pollution in science. The activity took place at the SDN 1 Girikarto Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) from October 13–17, 2025, involving 22 students. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: (1) introducing the concept of environmental pollution through discussions, educational videos, and questions and answers; (2) implementing an environmental campaign poster project in groups; and (3) presenting the results and concrete actions to maintain a clean school environment. Assessment procedures included process observation, feedback during the activity, and summative assessment of the product and presentation. The implementation results showed that PjBL increased student motivation, creativity, and active engagement. Students appeared enthusiastic in collaborating on the project, discussing it, and expressing ideas related to environmental protection efforts. Furthermore, project-based learning provided authentic experiences that encouraged students to think critically and responsibly about their surroundings. The main obstacle, limited project time, was overcome by adding additional time outside of class hours. Overall, the implementation of the PjBL model is effective in fostering environmental awareness and increasing understanding of the concept of pollution in elementary school students.
