Abstract

Every learner is a unique individual with distinct characteristics, so the success of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning is determined not only by the curriculum, materials, and methods, but also by the individual variations inherent in each learner. This article aims to examine learners' individual variation in PAI learning, covering five main aspects: intelligence, learning style, thinking style, personality, and temperament. This study employs a library research method, reviewing books, scholarly journals, and relevant Qur'anic verses and hadith, which are then analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The findings show that intelligence affects the speed and depth of learners' understanding of textual and rational religious evidence; visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles determine how learners absorb religious material; impulsive-reflective and deep-surface thinking styles influence the depth of value internalization; while personality and temperament shape learners' religious attitudes and behavior. Islam views individual variation as part of human nature (fitrah) and divine law (sunnatullah) that must be treated justly through the principle of obligation according to capacity (QS. Al-Baqarah: 286). This study recommends that PAI teachers implement differentiated learning, diagnostic assessment, and varied learning strategies and media so that every learner can develop optimally in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, toward the formation of knowledgeable and morally excellent individuals.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method on the exposition text writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMA . the primary issue underlying this study is the students' lack of understanding regarding the structure and characteristics of exposition texts, as well as a lack of writing practice due to minimal constructive feedback.  The research methodology employed is a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The research sample was determined using a cluster random sampling technique, resulting in class X1 as the experimental group (PBL method) and class X3 as the conventional group (lecture method), with each class consisting of 20 students. The data collection instrument consisted of a validated 20-item multiple-choice test and observations of teacher and student activities. The results showed that the average post-test score for the experimental class 86.75 was higher than that of the conventional class 77.25. Hypothesis testing using a t-test yielded t count 13.87  >  t table 2.02 at a significance level of 0.05, leading to the rejection of H0 and the acceptance of Ha This indicates a significant difference in exposition text writing skills between the two classes. The study concludes that the application of the PBL model is more effective in improving exposition text writing skills and encouraging students to be more active compared to conventional methods

Abstract

Moral education is an important aspect in shaping a person’s attitudes, behaviors, and decisions in daily life. The purpose of this study is to understand the role of teachers and families in developing children’s morals and character, as well as the challenges faced in the modern era. The methodology used is a qualitative approach through literature review, examining books, journals, and reliable online sources to obtain in-depth data and concepts on moral education. The results show that morals serve as a guide to distinguish right from wrong, while character is the embodiment of moral values reflected in attitudes, habits, and behaviors. Moral education in schools, through learning activities, extracurricular programs, school culture, and teacher role modeling, has proven effective in instilling positive values. Teachers act as moral and spiritual role models, guiding students to apply Christian values in their daily lives. On the other hand, families, especially parents, are the first and primary environment for moral education, playing a role through role modeling, guidance, prayer, good communication, love, and discipline. In conclusion, comprehensive implementation of moral education can shape children who are of good character, responsible, faithful, and capable of facing the challenges of the digital era, ensuring that their morals and character are consistently developed and beneficial for their social life.

Abstract

Rapid technological advancements including the emergence of tools such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) have greatly facilitated the work of professionals in the digital creative multimedia industry. However, the continuous pressure associated with technology usage can lead to "technostress," potentially causing physical and psychological issues for individuals. One factor potentially influencing technostress is workload specifically, the increasing complexity of job demands, ranging from responsibilities to time pressures, which impact an individual's psychological state in the workplace. This study aims to examine the effect of workload on technostress among workers in the digital creative multimedia industry. A quantitative method employing a linear regression approach was used. Data were collected from 160 participants via an online questionnaire, based on inclusion criteria requiring them to be workers in the digital creative multimedia industry who utilize AI. Data analysis was conducted using linear regression. The results indicate that workload has a significant positive effect on technostress (p < 0.001). The study concludes that workload exerts a moderate influence on technostress among workers in the digital creative multimedia industry.

Abstract

This study empirically examines the effects of emotional intelligence, conflict management, and competence on teacher work behavior in private junior high schools, aiming to identify the most influential direct drivers of teacher performance. A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed. Primary data from 90 teachers at private Junior High School’s in Yogyakarta, selected via purposive sampling, were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using PLS-SEM, including outer model, inner model, and hypothesis testing. The results reveal that emotional intelligence exerts a positive yet statistically non-significant effect on teacher work behavior. Conversely, conflict management and competence demonstrate a positive and significant effect. These findings confirm that teacher work behavior is more robustly enhanced by the capacity to manage interpersonal conflicts effectively and by thorough mastery of professional competencies spanning planning, implementation, and evaluation than by emotional intelligence alone. The hypotheses regarding conflict management and competence are thereby supported. The findings suggest that school management should prioritize strengthening conflict management and professional competency development. However, the cross-sectional design precludes causal inferences, and the limited variable scope restricts generalizability and omits other potential exogenous factors beyond the current model

Abstract

The decline in Gayo language usage among the younger generation—driven by the dominance of Indonesian, technological advancements, and reduced use of the regional language within families—poses a threat to the language's survival. Consequently, efforts to preserve the language through local content curricula in schools are essential. This study aims to describe the forms of Gayo language preservation within the local content curriculum for 7 th-grade students at SMP Terpadu Alazhar and to identify factors hindering its implementation. A qualitative approach using a descriptive method was employed. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion-drawing techniques. The findings reveal five forms of Gayo language preservation: Gayo language local content instruction, school support, government support, cultural arts preservation, and the utilization of local wisdom. Additionally, eleven factors hindering implementation were identified, including limited Gayo language use in the family environment, the dominance of Indonesian, low student interest and confidence, the use of mixed languages, limited comprehension, and a lack of teaching materials and media. The study concludes that local content curricula play a vital role in preserving the Gayo language but require support from families, schools, and the government.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the didactic values found in the folktale Putera Mahkota Lokan of the Riau Islands by Yanti Riswara. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. The data in this study consist of the book Cerita Rakyat Putera Mahkota Lokan Kepulauan Riau, published by the Language Center of the Ministry of National Education in 2007. The research instrument was the researcher herself, assisted by a data analysis table based on Elmubarok’s theory. The data collection techniques used included reading the book, listening, annotating, and entering data into the analysis table. The data analysis technique used was content analysis to understand, reveal, and capture the messages contained in the literary work. The results of the study show that there are fifteen didactic values, namely: (1) the value of helping others, (2) the value of empathy, (3) the value of honesty, (4) the value of sharing, (5) the value of loyalty, (6) the value of authenticity, (7) the value of wisdom, (8) the value of perseverance and tenacity, (9) the value of being helpful, (10) the value of tolerance, (11) the value of respecting others, (12) the value of patience, (13) the value of repaying evil with good, (14) the value of prioritizing good over evil, and (15) the value of the dangers of evil. These values are demonstrated through the characters’ attitudes, actions, dialogues, and conflicts. However, the value of the quality of good deeds was not found in the story. The value of the quality of good deeds refers to the way a person shows kindness to others with a sincere heart, without any hidden motives or interests. The absence of the didactic value of the quality of good deeds in this study does not indicate that Elmubarok’s theory is irrelevant to the research subject; rather, it demonstrates that a didactic value in a literary work is greatly influenced by its content, plot, conflict, character development, and the message conveyed within the work. Based on the research findings, the folktale Putera Mahkota Lokan from the Riau Islands is a literary work rich in didactic values and relevant to everyday life. These values serve not only as elements of entertainment but also as an educational tool that can serve as a guide in shaping the character and behavior of the community.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of environment-based vlog (video blogging) media to enhance the learning motivation and descriptive text writing skills of Grade VII E students at SMP Negeri 3 Madiun. The study was motivated by low learning motivation and students’ limited ability to transform observations into coherent descriptive texts. It employed the Kemmis and McTaggart Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, conducted over two cycles with 31 participants (16 male and 15 female students). Data were collected through observation, learning motivation questionnaires, descriptive text writing performance tests, and documentation, then analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed consistent improvement across cycles. In the pre-action stage, only 12 out of 31 students (38.7%) met the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP). Following instruction using vlog media in Cycle I, the number of students meeting the criteria rose to 20 (64.5%), and further increased to 26 (83.9%) in Cycle II. The average learning motivation score also improved from 61.4 (moderate category) at the pre-action stage to 84.6 (high category) by the end of Cycle II. These findings indicate that most students gained a better understanding of the structure and linguistic features of descriptive texts and became more skilled at composing them after personally experiencing the processes of observation and vlog production. Thus, environment-based vlog media proved effective as an innovative alternative for teaching descriptive text writing—one that is contextual and relevant to the characteristics of digital-generation students.
