Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the implementation of the learning process, improving learning outcomes and student responses by using Problem Based Learning model based on a local wisdom science class of second grade at junior high school. The type of research used a Pre-experimental design and the research design used One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. This research was implemented to students in class VIII-G as many as 34 students at Junior High School 34 Surabaya in the 2021/2022 academic year. Data collection techniques were using tests, questionnaires, and observations. The instruments of this research are test sheets in the form of pretest and posttest, student response questionnaires observation sheets. The implementation of learning using the Problem Based Learning model based on local wisdom has an average assessment at the first meeting obtained a percentage of 94.31% and the second meeting 100%. Learning outcomes can be seen in the increase of pretest and posttest which get average N-Gain scores of 0.69 which included the moderate category. Then the results of the effect size analysis show that the effectively of the Problem Based Learning model based on local wisdom is 3.20 with a strong effect. The students gave a positive response to the application of the Problem Based Learning model based on local wisdom with an average percentage of 97,93%. The conclusion of this research is the application of the Problem Based Learning model based on local wisdom can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this development research was to describe the feasibility of student worksheet to improve students scientific literacy skills on the reaction rate material in terms of aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research method refers to the 4-D development model by Thiagarajan which is limited to the develop stage with limited trials to students of class XI science at SMA Negeri 1 Gedangan as many as 30 students. The results of data analysis showed that the feasibility of LKPD from the aspect of validity seen from 4 criteria, namely content, presentation, language, and graphics, the percentage was 93.72%; 93.33%; 90.28%; and 92.78% with very valid criteria. The practicality of LKPD seen from the observation of activities and student response questionnaires obtained a percentage of 98.69% and 95.91% on very practical criteria. The effectiveness of the LKPD is seen from the results of the students pretest and posttest, namely cognitive tests and tests of scientific literacy skills which showed an increase with N-Gain scores of 0.67 and 0.60 in the medium category, respectively. LKPD to improve proper scientific literacy skills is very important to be developed as a learning resource so that it makes the learning process of students meaningful.

Abstract

This research was based on the constraints found in the field about the science learning process in junior high schools. Learning activities oriented to scientific literacy and student independence have not been carried out optimally. Independent learning can be implemented by training it through e-modules based on scientific literacy. This study aims to detail the efficiency level of e-modules based on scientific literacy with the theme let's prepare for disasters to train the learning independence of junior high school students. The method used is Research & Development with the ADDIE model, namely the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. At the implementation stage, the results of the validity of the scientific literacy-based e-module with the theme let's be prepared for disaster to train junior high school students' learning independence showed that based on validation by material experts, the percentage score was 93.7% in the "Very Valid" category, validation by teaching materials experts obtained a percentage value. 89% in the "Very Valid" category and validation by expert educators obtained a percentage of 85.79% in the "Very Valid" category. The results of the efficiency level of e-module products reached a percentage value of 87.16% in the "Very Efficient" category.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the level validation of student worksheets based on science process skills with the theme of acid rain for class VII SMP. This research was an RnD (Research and development) research using a development model by Thiagarajan which was adapted into 3D (define, design and develop). The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of an assessment instrument for student worksheets. The assessment of the student worksheets consists of the feasibility of content, the feasibility of presentation, the feasibility of science process skills, the feasibility of language and the feasibility of graphics. The results of the assessment carried out by material expert validators, media expert validators and practitioner expert validators on student worksheets based on science process skills on the theme of acid rain for class VII junior high school, namely 90.27% for content feasibility, 92.7% for presentation feasibility, 90.62% for science process skills feasibility, 88.63% for language feasibility and 84,61 for graphics feasibility. So the percentage of the final score for the assessment of the student worksheets is 88.47% with very valid criteria, it means that the student worksheets is suitable for use in science learning.

Abstract

By linking the domains of science studies, the 2013 curriculum emphasizes integrated science study. Scientific learning is more than just memorizing information and concepts; it must be shown via experiments that allow students to apply science process skills. As part of the production of instructional materials, science process skills are taught. Such as LKPD, which is built on the predict, observe, and explain principle (POE). The goal of this study is to learn more about the creation process and degree of validation of POE-based LKPD training PPP on environmental conservation topics in grade VII SMP. The study was conducted utilizing a 3-D version of the 4-D Research and Development technique, particularly the Define, Design, and Develop stages. A validation questionnaire was filled out by two material expert lecturers, two media experts, and two junior high school science teacher practitioners for the study's instrument. The results showed that the development process used 3D development and that the POE-based LKPD had a level of validity of 90% for material experts with a very valid category, 72% for media experts with a valid category, and 90.5% for junior high school science teachers with a very valid category. The POE-based LKPD may be evaluated in scientific learning to develop science process skills, based on the recapitulation of the validation findings; all validators received an average percentage value of 84% in the extremely valid category.

Abstract

At the junior hight school level in carrying out the science learning process, the teacher only applies the lecture method which only provides theory and does not carry put pratical so that students alack interest in learning. This result in the low active participation of students in learning activities and learning outcomes are less satisfactory. As an alternative to overcome partical problems and foster interest in learning, a virtual laboratory based on guided inquiry was developed with the theme of objects around us. The virtual laboratory is validated by experts, namely material experts, media and pratitioners to obtain validity data used in the learning process. The research method used is Research and Development  with reference to the development model of Thiagarajan (1974) which was modified in 3 stage. The instruments used are interview sheets and validation sheets. The results of the validity level of guided inquiry-based virtual laboratory with the theme of objects around us obtainded an average value of 92,67% with the ‘very valid’.  Based on this assessment, a guided inquiry-based virtual laboratory with the theme of objects around us in fostering interest in learning for students can be applied in learning activities.

Abstract

Learning activities that lead to creative thinking skills have not been fully implemented.. Creative thinking skills can be trained by developing teaching materials in the form of E-Worksheet which is able to train students' reasoning abilities. The open-ended problem approach is able to direct students to solve problems in various ways. So that the E-Worksheet based on open ended problems is able to give students the freedom to describe the results of creative analysis to solve problems. The purpose of this study is to measure the level of validity of the E-Worksheet based on the open ended problem of the global warming theme to train the creative thinking skills of grade VII students. The method used is research and development or Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D research and development model by Thiagarajan (1975) which is modified as needed by being limited to the development stage until the product validation test. The instrument used is a validation questionnaire sheet that has been tested by instrument experts to determine the level of validity of the developed E-Worksheet. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the level of validity of the E-LKPD based on the open ended problem of the global warming theme obtained a value of 89,1% with the "very valid" category. The results of the assessment are based on the average value of material experts, media experts, and expert practitioners.

Abstract

The development of learning in the 21st century has a uniqueness that is different from learning in the previous century. This century requires all learning processes to always use technology. Technology can help motivate students and improve skills such as communication skills, creative thinking, critical thinking, and the ability to solve problems. This study aims to analyze the Pedagogical Knowledgeability of science teachers at SMPN 17 Jambi City and to find out whether the teacher's PK ability affects students' learning motivation. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the pedagogic knowledgeability of science teachers with a percentage of 85% in the sufficient category was proven to have an effect on students' learning motivation at SMPN 17 Jambi City with indicators motivated by the student's learning environment responding to the agree category with a percentage of 53.5%. The second indicator is paying attention to the teacher when explaining the material, the most students responding agree with the percentage of 43.3%. The third indicator is doing the task on their own accord which contains 2 items of negative statements, the most students giving a disagree response with a percentage of 34.5%, then positive statements from students giving the most agreeing responses with a percentage of 62.1% and the last indicator being an indicator of enthusiasm and enthusiasm. The persistent in doing assignments, students gave the most responses in the agreed category with a percentage of 35.1%.

Abstract

Kinerja guru dalam proses belajar mengajar sains merupakan indikator penting mencapai tujuan pendidikan. Faktor-fakor yang diduga mempengaruhi peningkatan kinerja guru dalam pembelajaran sains antara lain disiplin kerja dan motivasi kerja seorang guru. Hal inilah yang melatarbelakangi penelitian terkait rendahnya kinerja guru dalam pembelajaran sains di SMKN se Kab. Pekalongan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisa pengaruh disiplin kerja (X1) terhadap kinerja pembelajaran sains (Y), motivasi kerja (X2) terhadap kinerja pembelajaran sains (Y), dan pengaruh keduanya secara bersama terhadap kinerja pembelajaran sains (Y) di SMKN se Kab. Pekalongan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif korelasional dengan sampel 160 guru dari seluruh sekolah menengah kejuruan negeri di Kab. Pekalongan. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik pengambilan acak yang semua uji korelasinya menggunakan bantuan program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara disiplin kerja (X1) terhadap kinerja pembelajaran sains (Y) sebesar 56,6% dengan dimensi yang paling lemah adalah taat aturan waktu, korelasi antara motivasi kerja (X2) terhadap kinerja pembelajaran sains (Y) sebesar 8,9% dengan kelemahan pada dimensi motivasi intrinsik, dan korelasi yang signifikan antara kedua variabel X1 dan X2 secara bersamaan terhadap kinerja pembelajaran sains (Y) di SMKN se Kab. Pekalongan sebesar 56,2% dengan persamaan regresi ?= 18,787 + 2,083 X1 + 0,154 X2. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti memberikan rekomendasi bahwa guru hendaknya meningkatkan kedisiplinan, motivasi, prestasi dalam melaksanakan pekerjaan dengan penuh rasa tanggung jawab dan pimpinan sekolah senantiasa memantau kinerja guru dalam pembelajaran sains dan memberikan dorongan supaya para guru termotivasi dalam meningkatkan disiplin kerja. selain itu, Pemerintah hendaknya memberikan pembinaan intensif kepada sekolah terkait kedisiplinan dan menganggarkan dana untuk kegiatan yang menumbuhkan motivasi guru untuk berprestasi dan meningkatkan kinerjanya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the quality of 8th grade students’ questioning skills in science subjects and the factors affecting it. This descriptive study with a quantitative approach involved 22 students of 8th grade students in an A-accredited school located in Waru District, Sidoarjo Regency. The instrument used was test and interview guidelines. The data collection techniques used was interviews and document analysis. Data analysis was done by grouping student questions based on cognitive level in Revised Bloom's Taxonomy. The results of the study showed that students' questioning skills at the cognitive level of C1 Remembering was 53.6%, C2 Understanding was 31%, C3 Applying was 7%, C4 Analyzing was 6.79%, C5 Evaluating was 2 %. As for the cognitive level of C6 Creating, it did not appear. Moreover, factors that influence the students' questioning skills were their interest in the texts, how important and close the text topics to the students' lives. In conclusion, the students' questioning skills were at low-level with interest in the text as the biggest influence on the students’ questions quality. The implication of this research is in learning, students should make high-level questions at C3 to C6 levels after reading science text.
