Tetapi, sejumlah faktor mengancam populasi alami jernang seperti aktivitas illegal loging yang menghilangkan pepohonan kayu sebagai media tegakkan jernang serta kerusakan habitat alami jernang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aspek etnobotani jernang termasuk upaya pembudidayaanya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara pembuatan herbarium dan identifikasi tumbuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya lima species jerang di kedua desa yang diamati.Di Desa Lamban Sigatal terdapat tiga jenis yaitu Daemonorops draconcella Becc., Daemonorops aff.Daemonorops propinqua Becc., Daemonorops draco Blume sedangkan di Desa Sepintun terdapat empat jenis yaitu Daemonorops aff.Daemonorops maculata J.Dransf., Daemonorops draconcella Becc., Daemonorops draco Blume dan Daemonorops propinqua Becc. Getah jernang dimanfaatkan sebagai obat luka, obat sakit gigi, obat sehabis melahirkan, dan pewarna cat. Proses pengolahan jernang yang dilakukan melalui dua tahap yaitu proses pengolahan secara kering dan proses pengolahan secara basah. Upaya pembudidayaan umumnya dilakukan dengan cara menerapkan pola tumpang sari jernang dengan tanaman karet

Banana (Musa sp.) is the most widely consumed fruits since the children age up to the elderly. This is because bananas have quite complete nutrient content such as carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals, making it beneficial for the human body. People normally only consume and discard any banana skin. Therefore; it needs solutions to deal with the banana peel waste. Banana peels contain high enough nutrients that are carbohydrate 18.5%, phosphorus 28 mg, water 72 g, and some other chemical substances. The high nutrient content on the banana peel is potential to be used as food, one of which is in the form of nata. Nata is a product of microbial fermentation using Acetobacter xylinum. Nata can be made from coconut water waste, liquid waste or waste bark out pineapple and banana peel waste (Nata de Banana Skin). This study aimed to determine the effect of various types of banana peels using A. xylinum on the quality of nata de banana skin. The results showed that different types of banana peel affect the quality of Nata de Banana Skin, both on its flavor and its yield of Nata de Banana Skin. The pisang raja skins give the most optimal results for nata thickness and also perform the best organoleptic values.

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk organik TKKS dan inokulasi Fungi Mikoriza Arbuskula (FMA) serta memperoleh dosis yang optimum terhadap pertumbuhan bibit jelutung rawa secara optimal. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk organik TKKS (0,145; 290 dan 580 g/tanaman) dan faktor kedua dosis FMA Mycofer® (0,5; 10 dan 15 g/tanaman), ulangan sebanyak tiga kali. Parameter penelitian berupa tinggi batang, diameter batang, jumlah daun, luas daun, rasio pucuk akar dan persentase akar terkolonisasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multi Range Test (DMRT) pada taraf α = 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh nyata pupuk organik TKKS terhadap pertambahan diameter batang dan rasio pucuk akar. Pemberian dosis FMA menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap persentase kolonisasi akar. Pemberian kombinasi keduanya juga menunjukkan pengaruh interaksi yang nyata terhadap tinggi batang dan luas daun. Dosis optimum diperoleh pada perlakuan pupuk organik TKKS 145 g dan inokulasi FMA 5 g. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan untuk menggunakan pupuk organik TKKS dengan dosis 145 g yang dikombinasikan dengan dosis FMA 5 g/tanaman. Kata Kunci : TKKS, pertumbuhan, jelutung rawa, FMA.

The development of learning in the 21st century has a uniqueness that is different from learning in the previous century. This century requires all learning processes to always use technology. Technology can help motivate students and improve skills such as communication skills, creative thinking, critical thinking, and the ability to solve problems. This study aims to analyze the Pedagogical Knowledgeability of science teachers at SMPN 17 Jambi City and to find out whether the teacher's PK ability affects students' learning motivation. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the pedagogic knowledgeability of science teachers with a percentage of 85% in the sufficient category was proven to have an effect on students' learning motivation at SMPN 17 Jambi City with indicators motivated by the student's learning environment responding to the agree category with a percentage of 53.5%. The second indicator is paying attention to the teacher when explaining the material, the most students responding agree with the percentage of 43.3%. The third indicator is doing the task on their own accord which contains 2 items of negative statements, the most students giving a disagree response with a percentage of 34.5%, then positive statements from students giving the most agreeing responses with a percentage of 62.1% and the last indicator being an indicator of enthusiasm and enthusiasm. The persistent in doing assignments, students gave the most responses in the agreed category with a percentage of 35.1%.

Argumentation skill is a part of the critical thinking ability needed by students to be successful in learning science. This study aims to understand the effect of the implementation of 4 Step Jigsaw (4SJ) and original jigsaw learning models in rehearsing the argumentation skill of junior high school students in the concept of plant structure and function. This argumentation skill is further investigated in the lens of varied students’ level of confidence. This study employs the quasi-experiment factorial 2 x 2 with the type of Pretest Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group design. The population was the students from grade 8 SMPN 17 Batanghari with total of 106 students, consisted of 44 males and 62 females. Some 53 students were recruited to be the sample grouped into 2 classes, i.e., the class 8A as the class 4SJ and the class 8C as the original jigsaw class. Data were collected using a valid self-confidence questionnaire and a valid pretest and a posttest in argumentation. Data were analyzed using two-way Anova test and statistics descriptive techniques. The results show that the 4SJ students have higher average of argumentation skill score (77.77) than the jigsaw students (71.17). It was also factual that students with better self-confidence also have higher average of argumentation skill score (75.13) than  those with lower self-confidence (73.81). The results of two-way Anova test emphasize that there is an effect of the utilization of the models on the students’ argumentation skill. There is also an effect of the students’ self-confidence on the students’ argumentation skill. Even though it was very weak, it can be said that there is a potential for the learning models and the self-confidence to have an interaction in causing the growth of the students’ argumentation skill. It can be concluded that appropriate learning models and suitable self-confidence may affect students’ learning outcomes.

This study aim to determine the effect of the implementation of the ethnoscience-based PBL-Networked model on students' understanding of the concept and interest in entrepreneurship. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental approach with nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were class VII students of SMPN 4 Sungai penuh. Determination of the sample used purposive sampling technique. The data were obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest as well as the student interest in entrepreneurship questionnaire. The instrument is used after being validated by a team of experts. Based on data analysis, that the implementation of the ethnoscience-based Problem Based Learning learning model has an influence on students' understanding of concepts and interest in entrepreneurship. Ethnoscience-based PBL-Networked model learning tools are effective in significantly increasing students' understanding of concepts and interest in entrepreneurship. The effect on students' understanding of concepts and interest in entrepreneurship is higher in the implementation of the ethnoscience-based PBL-Networked model than in conventional classes. This is based on the results of the One way MANOVA test showing a significance value of 0.000 which is less than the significance level α= 0.005, so it can be concluded that there is an average difference in increasing understanding of concepts and students' interest in entrepreneurship that is significant between students who learn using the ethnoscience-based PBL-Networked learning model and students who use learning tools that are already available on the Merdeka Belajar Platform

Kemampuan berpikir kritis harus dilatihkan dalam pembelajaran. Indikasi di lapangan kemampuan tersebut belum dapat diimplementasikan secara optimal. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menggambarkan profil kemampuan berpikir kritis melalui implementasi flipped classroom pada siswa SMA. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Penelitian menggunakan desain eksperimen semu (quasi experimental research). Pengumpulan data diperoleh menggunakan teknik tes. Tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis sesuai dengan indikator berpikir kritis yaitu FRISCO. Data dianalisis dengan cara persentase correction dan Ancova. Profil nilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh rata-rata 38,30 (rendah) sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diperoleh rata-rat 36,53 (rendah). Setelah implementasi flipped classroom, kemampuan berpikir pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh rata-rata 86,00 (sangat tinggi), sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 60,29 (sedang) dengan nilai signifikansi 0,00. Â Berdasarkan analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa profil kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dapat dilatihkan dan meningkat melalui implementasi pembelajaran flipped classroom.Critical thinking skills must be trained in learning. Indications in the field of this ability have not been implemented optimally. The research was conducted to describe the profile of critical thinking skills through the implementation of flipped classrooms for high school students. This type of research used is quantitative research. The research used a quasi-experimental research design. Data collection was obtained using test techniques. The test is used to measure critical thinking skills according to critical thinking indicators, namely FRISCO. Data were analyzed by means of percentage correction and Ancova. The score profile of students' critical thinking skills before treatment in the experimental class obtained an average of 38.30 (low) while in the control class obtained an average of 36.53 (low). After implementing the flipped classroom, the ability to think in the experimental class obtained an average of 86.00 (very high), while in the control class it was 60.29 (moderate) with a significance value of 0.00. Based on this analysis, it can be concluded that the profile of students' critical thinking skills can be trained and improved through the implementation of flipped classroom learning.

Petunia hybrid Vilm. is an ornamental plant that has the potential to be developed because its flowering period does not know the season and comes with various motifs and flower colors that can add cultivation and commercial value. Information on the morphological characteristics of flowers and flowering phenology is the basis for their development. The aim of this study was to characterize the morphological structure of flowers and observe a series of phases in flower development stages associated with environmental factors. This research was conducted in the sustainable twin housing complex in the city of Jambi on March 25–May 27, 2022, and the data obtained was analyzed descriptively, qualitatively, and quantitatively. The results of flowering phenology observations showed that petunia flower development occurred over an average period of 37 days. Based on the characterization of the morphological structure of the flower, the average length is 72 mm and the diameter is 42 mm. It is categorized as a complete flower because it has a main organ consisting of five petals with an average diameter of 42 mm, five petals with an average length of 14 mm, and an average diameter of 16 mm. Furthermore, the genitals of the flower, namely the stamens, are five in number, and there is one pistil in each flower.

Telah dilakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi, pengabdian ini dilakukan terhadap guru-guru IPA. Dari hasil wawancara dengan guru tersebut pembelajaran optik selama ini belum diajarkan melalui praktikum dan percobaan, karena berbagai faktor yang kurang mendukung sehingga praktikum percobaan fisika sering tidak dilakukan, kendala yang paling banyak dijumpai adanya keterbatasan alat-alat praktikum yang tersedia. Untuk memahami konsep yang baik, disamping mempelajari teori juga harus disertai dengan praktikum agar dapat memahami konsep dengan baik dan juga menambah minat belajar siswa. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut perlu dilakukan pengenalan alat-alat optik dan pada akhirnya melakukan praktikumnya agar guru-guru dapat lebih terampil dan memiliki khasanah yang luas dalam mengajarkan materi optik tersebut. Berdasarkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian sangat dibutuhkan bagi pihak sekolah terutama SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi, dengan adanya kegiatan pengabdian ini, guru IPA sangat terbantu dengan adanya pengenalan alat-alat optik dan mendapat menambah inspirasi bagi guru untuk melakukan praktikum alat-alat optik di sekolah.

One of the obstacles faced by students in studying plant taxonomy is the difficulty of recognizing various types of ferns. The purpose of the study was to develop a media booklet on knowledge of fern species in Biology Education study program students. The research method is a quasi experimental design (Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design). The instrument is a written test sheet in the form of multiple choice. The pretest and posttest data were analyzed using SPSS using the paired sample t-test, then continued with the independent sample t-test. Test data independent sample t test obtained Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. N-Gain Score, shows the average value of N for the experimental class is 69.79 which is included in the "fairly effective" category. With a minimum N-gain score of 50% and a maximum of 87%. While the average value of the N-gain score in the control class is 55.05% which is included in the "less effective" category. With a minimum N-gain score of 33% and a maximum of 75%. The conclusion is that the use of booklets is more effective in learning to increase students' knowledge of the introduction of fern species. Abstrak. Salah satu kendala yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam pempelajaran taksonomi tumbuhan adala  kesulitan  mengenal berbagai jenis tumbuhan paku.   Tujuan penelitian adalah mengembangkan Media booklet terhadap pengetahuan jenis tumbuhan paku pada mahasiswa program studi Pendidikan Biologi. Metode penelitian adalah quasi experimental design (Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design). Instrumen berupa lembar tes tertulis berbentuk pilihan ganda. Data pretest dan posttest dianalisis  menggunakan SPSS dengan menggunakan uji paired sample t-test, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji independent sample t-test. Data Uji independent sample t test diperoleh Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. N-Gain Score, menunjukkan nilai rata-rata N untuk kelas eksperimen adalah  69,79 termasuk dalam kategori “cukup efektifâ€. Dengan nilai N-gain score minimal 50% dan maksimal 87%. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata N-gain score pada kelas kontrol adalah sebesar 55,05% termasuk dalam kategori “kurang efektifâ€. Dengan nilai N-gain score minimal 33% dan  maksimal 75%.  Simpulannya  adalah penggunaan  booklet lebih efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa terhadap pengenalan  jenis tumbuhan paku. Â
