Abstract

Learning mathematics in vocational high school (SMK) is not always easy. There are times when vocational high school mathematics teachers complain about learning problems. This study aims to determine learning motivation and its contribution to student learning outcomes at SMK Nusantara Tanah Jawa. The research method used was a survey method with correlational analysis, with a total sample of 79 people. The data collection techniques used were interviews, questionnaires and documentation. From the results of the research, it was obtained; that the measure of student motivation was 64.61, while the learning outcomes were 64.61 (complete). A 54.80% of students' mathematics learning outcomes were determined by their learning motivation, with the regression equation Y' = 9.86 + 0.86X. The magnitude of the contribution of learning motivation to learning outcomes does not determine the level of learning outcomes.

Abstract

Development of Student Worksheets (LKS) based on guided inquiry models on the theme of the dangers of polluted water to foster students' creative thinking begins with a problem during interview with a science teacher that textbooks alone are not capable of helping students grow creative thinking, students still lack a role in learning process. This development is a worksheet which contains the steps of the learning quided inquiry model contained in the content section of the worksheet which contains problem formulation, making hypotheses, designing experiments with work steps, conducting experiments to obtain data and making conclusions so that it can help foster students' creative thinking abilities. This research is a research and development (Research & Development) using four-D (4-D) research model and a modified Thiagarajan research design because the dissiminate stage was not carried out. The results showed that the development of guided inquiry-based student worksheets on the theme of the dangers of polluted water to foster students' creative thinking was carried out through 3 stages, namely the defining stage (Define), the design stage (Design), and the development stage (Develop). The level of validity successively scores 80% with valid criteria based on the validation of material and media experts and 85% with very valid criteria and teacher's assessment gets a score of 92% with very valid criteria. Based on the results of the overall validity test, an average value of 85.6% is obtained with very valid criteria.

Abstract

Education is an integral part of a nation’s life. The Indonesian Government has taken crucial action to improve the quality of education, starting with improving the curriculum, teachers' quality, and the use of technology in class. Curriculum 2013 encourages students to be more active in their learning process. However, teachers sometimes only rely on textbooks so that learning objectives are not achieved and students are less motivated to learn the topic. This research aims to develop media that can facilitate cooperation between teachers and students, namely the Fikaso card game. More specifically, this research was conducted to describe the validity, effectiveness, and practicality of Fikaso cards in learning to improve students' learning outcomes. The study was developed with the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model. The results of the discussion show that the Fikaso cards that have been developed are declared: (1) Very valid or very feasible to use with an average percentage of 89%, (2) Effective with an effectiveness percentage of 73%, and can improve student learning outcomes with an N-gain value of 0.56 which is categorized as a moderate increase, and (3) Very practical to use with an average percentage of 92%.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanoes. These natural disasters can happen anytime and anywhere. One of the provinces in Indonesia which is prone to volcanic eruptions is Bali. Adequate basic knowledge related to volcanoes is needed by all Balinese people, especially children, regarding anticipatory measures for volcanic eruptions. The goal is to reduce the risk of volcanic hazards. In this study, researchers took the research location at the Dharma Jati I Klungkung Bali orphanage. A number of questions in the form of a questionnaire were given to the children living in the orphanage. Based on previous observations, there was no counseling about volcanic disasters at the orphanage. Facilities and infrastructure are still limited to television so children get little information and some have never received any information at all. A questionnaire containing 10 questions was given to the orphanage children regarding basic knowledge of volcanoes such as the meaning, causes, characteristics and effects of volcanic eruptions with the result that the orphanage children still lack knowledge about the volcano itself.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi tren media pembelajaran IPA yang diterapkan di SD/MI pasca pandemic covid-19. Penelitian menggunakan desain survei mengenai karakteristik media pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA di SD/MI pasca pandemi Covid-19. Metode pengambilan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan pada 46 SD/MI di wilayah Jawa Tengah. Hasil penelitian didapatkan data bahwa 63% sekolah menggunakan media pembelajaran offline, sedangkan 37% sekolah memakai media pembelajaran kombinasi antara offline dan online. Media offline yang digunakan meliputi papan tulis, komputer, video, presentasi power point, alat laboratorium, dan alat peraga lain. Media online yang digunakan bersamaan dengan media offline yaitu grup WhatsApp/Telegram dan meeting room (Zoom meeting/Google Meet). Perbedaan penerapan kurikulum di sekolah dan kualifikasi guru bersertifikat pendidik bukan menjadi faktor utama pemilihan penggunaan media online bagi peserta didik tingkat MI/SD. Ketersediaan perangkat bagi peserta didik mengikuti pembelajaran dengan media online menjadi alasan dalam menentukan jenis media pembelajaran IPA pasca pandemi.

Abstract

Creativity and Community are important to be developed in learning at school. The three values of Tarakanita in class VIIC of SMP Tarakanita 2 Jakarta are still not developed. One of the learning models that can be applied to increase Conviction, Creativity and Community is Project Based Learning. This research aims to implement Project Based Learning with the aid of a module to improve Conviction, Creativity, and Community for class VII students of SMP Tarakanita 2 Jakarta on environmental pollution. The research method used is Classroom Action Research which consists of three cycles. Every cycles consist of three stages, they are planning, observation, action and reflection. The research subject is class VIIC SMP Tarakanita 2 Jakarta as many as 29 students. The research instrument used to obtain the data is the rubric for assessing conviction, creativity and community. Assessment with the rubric is carried out during the learning activities. The rubric used to measure the conviction value consists of five indicators, creativity consists of four indicators and community consists of four indicators. The results showed that there was an increase in conviction, creativity and community. The average value of conviction in cycle one is 50.8, in cycle two is 77.0 and in cycle three is 91.1. The average value for creativity ability in cycle one is 50.0 in cycle two is 77.6 and in cycle three is 92.5. The average value of the community in the first cycle is 48.0, in the second cycle 77.6 and in the third cycle 93.1. From these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of Project Based Learning with the help of modules on Environmental Pollution material in Class VII SMP Tarakanita 2 Jakarta can increase Conviction with an N-Gain value of 0.9 (high), Creativity with an N-Gain value of 0.8 (high). and Community with an N-Gain value of 0.9 (high).

Abstract

This study aimed to collect data for two reasons: (1) How the learning cycle 5E model assisted by multi representation-based E-LKPD in science learning has an effect on HOTS of junior high school students, and (2) How far the use of the learning cycle 5E model assisted by multi representation-based E-LKPD in the subject of science increases the HOTS of junior high school students. The implementation of the research was taking place in the even semester of TP 2022/2023 at SMPN 2 Panti, Jember. Classes VIII B and C were assigned as the experimental and control samples in this study, respectively. Data were collected by pre-and post-testing. While 3 types of tests in analyzing data include normality test, independent sample t-test, and n-gain through SPSS statistics. In the effect test using the independent sample t-test, a confidence level (two-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05 was generated, so it can be said that students’ HOTS were significantly different prior to and following treatment. The result of increasing higher-order thinking skills using the n-gain test is a medium category increase in students’ HOTS, which is 0.4635. In this case, it can be decided that the learning cycle 5E model assisted by multi representation-based E-LKPD in science learning has an effect on HOTS and helps junior high school students’ HOTS develop into a medium category.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop an android based physics educational game on temperature and heat material using the construct 2 program, where the game was designed to stimulate thinking ability including improving understanding of physics concepts. This educational game was developed using the research and development (R&D) method with the stages of the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation, but in this study it only reached the design or development stage. In addition, to ensure that the game is designed as expected, the authors conducted feasibility testing and game acceptance by media experts and students. Based on the results of the analysis, the assessment obtained from 5 experts with several aspects of assessment of this educational game is included in the very feasible category with an average score of 3.70 from a maximum score of 4.00 and a minimum score 3.0. From the results obtained, the physics educational game developed has good quality so it is feasible to be implemented.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the feasibility of teaching modules with mind mapping strategies to improve creative thinking skills in chemical bonding material. The research method used was the 4-D model (define, design, develop and disseminate) which is limited to the development stage. The trial was conducted on 34 students of class XII IPA 4 at one of state senior high school in Surabaya. The teaching module was said to be feasible in terms of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The results showed the feasibility of teaching modules in terms of content validity getting mode 5 on very good category and construct validity getting mode 4 on good category so that overall the teaching module gets mode ≥4 and is declared valid. The practicality of teaching modules in terms of learning implementation gets a percentage of 93.63%, student activities get a percentage of 97.35% and student responses with a percentage of 92.12% with very practical criteria. The effectiveness of the teaching modules is seen from the improvement of students' creative thinking skills through pretest and posttest mind mapping as well as questions on the description of creative thinking skills on chemical bonding material with an N-Gain value obtained respectively of 0.73 and 0.72 in the high category. Based on the results of validity, practicality and effectiveness can be concluded that teaching modules with mind mapping strategies are appropriate to be used in learning to improve creative thinking skills in chemical bonding material.

Abstract

The problem that is often encountered in learning at school, especially physics subjects, is the large number of students who say physics subjects are difficult to understand and are less interested in physics subjects, This is due to the not optimal learning media used by teachers, causing students not to understand the concepts and not interested in physics lessons. This lack of interest can be overcome with videos, so learning videos are needed that can increase students' understanding of concepts and learning interests. This study aimed to develop physics learning videos based on the STEM approach to measurement material. This research method uses a research and development design with a 4D development model. The subjects in this study were 30 students in class XI MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi who had studied measurement material. This study used data collection in the form of initial needs questionnaires, interviews, media expert validation questionnaires and material experts as well as student response questionnaires. From the results of this study the media validation stage I obtained a score of 80.91% and stage II obtained a score of 97.36%. In material validation I obtained a score of 81.94% and stage II obtained a score of 96.52% and student responses to all indicators obtained a score of 83.86%. This study concludes that physics learning videos based on the STEM approach in measurement materials meet the eligibility criteria, which are very valid and very effective for learning physics measurement materials.
