Abstract

The aim of this research is to find the difficulties of students in solving word problems in the three-variable linear equation systems subject. Before they took a mathematical problem-solving exam, the learners were given reinforcement of prerequisite knowledge of the intended subject. The problem-solving test indicators used in this study were taken from Polya's problem-solving steps consisting of (1) recognizing the question, (2) making a plan for problem-solving (developing a plan), (3) implementing the plan for problem-solving, and (4) looking back. The research method used in this study was a qualitative descriptive. The subject in this study was 15 students who were 10 th graders of senior high school. The data were obtained from a student performance who took mathematical problems solving test. The result obtained from this study can be seen from the number of students whose achievement indicators formulate a plan of 49.6%, achievement in completing plans 14.1%, and achievement in checking solutions 2.2%. However, the indicators of understanding the problem area in the good category, namely 80%. The result of this study showed that the students were only able to solve the word problems for understanding the problem (good category) and devising the plan steps (mediocre category), whereas they got difficulties in solving the word problems in carrying out the plan and looking back (low category).

Abstract

This study aims to integrate research findings on the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in Indonesia since 2014. The research method used is a meta-analysis with many samples studied, namely 12 published articles. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The effect size transformation is based on the g hedge equation calculated using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) application. Based on the results of the analysis, the combined effect of PBL on mathematical communication skills is 0.791, with the high influence criteria according to the random-effect estimation model. There are four criteria considered, namely, sample size, year of study, source of journal publication, and grade level. The results of the heterogeneity test seen based on the variables studied showed that the effect of the PBL learning model was not significantly different from the three moderator variables in terms of sample size, year of study, and publication journals and very different in terms of grade level. This finding is surprising because the random-effects model, as determined by the heterogeneity test, showed variation between effect sizes. Only one of the four variables causes this variation. Therefore further research is needed, which includes more studies and the characteristics studied to describe it more accurately.

Abstract

In this paper, we studied a mathematical model of tuberculosis with vaccination for the treatment of  tuberculosis. We considered an in-host tuberculosis model that described the interaction between Macrophages and Mycobacterium tuberculosis and investigated the effect of vaccination treatments on uninfected macrophages. Optimal control is applied to show the optimal vaccination and effective strategies to control the disease. The optimal control formula is obtained using the Hamiltonian function and Pontryagin's maximum principle. Finally, we perform numerical simulations to support the analytical results. The results suggest that control or vaccination is required if the maximal transmission of infection rate at which macrophages became infected is large. In this paper, we studied a mathematical model of tuberculosis with vaccination for the treatment of  tuberculosis. We considered an in-host tuberculosis model that described the interaction between macrophages Macrophages and Mycobacterium tuberculosis and investigated the effect of vaccination treatments on uninfected macrophages. Abstract

Financial activities that are often carried out by people in developed and developing countries. Banks can collect public funds directly from customers, then distribute them to the public. Islamic banks still have a good reputation in the community so that the assets and third party funds of Islamic commercial banks grow. This is also reinforced by public optimism due to regulation of Banking Synergy in One Ownership for the development of Islamic Banking. The purpose of this study is to forecast the growth of Islamic banking after the implementation of banking synergy regulations in one ownership as an effort to increase the efficiency of the Islamic banking industry. This study used the secondary data all of  the Islamic Banks in Indonesia from Financial Service Authority by Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) period 2015-2019 as the estimated data and 2020-2022 as the forecasting data in quarter. This study used two variables, asset and third-party fund, to estimate the best model. The result shows ARIMA (0,1,1) has the small AIC and significant value as best estimation model. The growth of Islamic banks in 2020 will increase by 7.4 % in assets and 7.3 % by the end of 2022 to IDR 437 trillion. Meanwhile, third party funds by the end of 2022 will increase by 8 % with total third party funds of IDR 361 trillion. Banking Synergy in One Ownership Order has the potential to increase the effectiveness and the efficiency of the Islamic Banking Industry at future.

Abstract

The demands of professional teachers to design technology-assisted learning that can facilitate all students to develop their potential. the fact that the quality of students' adaptive reasoning in solving math problems is still low which has an impact on other mathematical competencies. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the improvement of adaptive reasoning abilities between students who have implemented Search Solving Create and Share learning assisted with Microsoft Mathematics and conventional learning. The method used is quasi-experimental with the non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. Through the Simple Random Sampling technique, two classes were selected, namely class X1 and X2 one of the SMA in Bandung Indonesia. Test instrument: story questions about adaptive reasoning abilities. Analysis using independent T-test data. Result: There is a difference in the improvement in adaptive reasoning abilities between students who using search-solve-create- share learning assisted by Microsoft mathematics compared to conventional learning. Students' difficulties in solving story problems with adaptive reasoning abilities can be minimized by getting used to solving non-routine story problems. Learning search-solve-create-share assisted by Microsoft mathematics accustoms students to convey assumptions, provide reasons for answers, draw conclusions from statements, and students can find patterns of various mathematical problems through multi-interactive media.

Abstract

In the present paper, we study some properties of the Heisenberg Lie algebra of dimension . The main purpose of this research is to construct a real Frobenius Lie algebra from the Heisenberg Lie algebra of dimension . To achieve this, we exhibit  how to compute the derivation of the Heisenberg Lie algebra by following Oom’s result. In this research, we use a literature review method to some related papers corresponding to a derivation of a Lie algebra, Frobenius Lie algebras, and Plancherel measure. Determining a conjecture of a real Frobenius Lie algebra is obtained. As the main result, we prove that conjecture. Namely, for the given the Heisenberg Lie algebra, there exists a commutative subalgebra of dimension one such that its semi direct sum is a real Frobenius Lie algebra of dimension . Futhermore, in the notion of the Lie group of the Heisenberg Lie algebra which is called the Heisenberg Lie group, we compute the generalized character of its group  and we determine the Plancherel measure of the unitary dual of the Heisenberg Lie group. As our contributions, we complete some examples of Frobenius Lie algebras obtained from a nilpotent Lie algebra and we also give alternative computations to find the Plancherel measure of the Heisenberg Lie group.

Abstract

Sentiment analysis is an analysis with an objective to identify like, dislike, comments, opinion, or feedback on certain content which will be categorized into positive, negative, or neutral. In general selection, sentiment analysis widely known to be used to predict the winner on election process. This method tries to dig the people sentiment on their governor candidates during election, whether it’s positive, negative, or neutral opinion. The output of the positive sentiment is related to people acceptance towards one of the election nominee. That statement usually applied as a base reference for determining the result of the election process. In sentiment analysis, the importance of its fuzzy logics must be considered. Each of the people statement is assumed to have the level of positive, negative, or neutral percentage. The concept of fuzzy logic is developed and applied on one of this text mining method. This research is focusing on comparison analysis and fuzzy logic application in sentiment analysis method. Two method which discussed in this research are Fuzzy Naïve Bayes and Sentiment Fuzzy with convolutional neural network. This research is applied on PILKADA of Solo and Medan district case study. The data of the people opinion are acquired from twitter and collected on September 2020 to December 2020. The two methods which mentioned before are implemented on the acquired data and the output of these method application then compared. The conclusion of this research suggest that different approach will resulting in different output.

Abstract

This article discusses a dynamical analysis of the fractional-order model of HIV/AIDS. Biologically, the rate of subpopulation growth also depends on all previous conditions/memory effects. The dependency of the growth of subpopulations on the past conditions is considered by applying fractional derivatives. The model is assumed to consist of susceptible, HIV infected, HIV infected with treatment, resistance, and AIDS. The fractional-order model of HIV/AIDS with Caputo fractional-order derivative operators is constructed and then, the dynamical analysis is performed to determine the equilibrium points, local stability and global stability of the equilibrium points. The dynamical analysis results show that the model has two equilibrium points, namely the disease-free equilibrium point and endemic equilibrium point. The disease-free equilibrium point always exists and is globally asymptotically stable when the basic reproduction number is less than one. The endemic equilibrium point exists if the basic reproduction number is more than one and is globally asymptotically stable unconditionally. To illustrate the dynamical analysis, we perform some numerical simulation using the Predictor-Corrector method. Numerical simulation results support the analytical results.
