Abstract

This study aims to determine how the efforts to improve students 'understanding of the operation of addition and subtraction of integers through demonstration methods using teaching aids, and whether the use of demonstration methods can improve students' understanding of the operations of addition and subtraction of negative integers. The research method used was classroom action research (PTK). This method is carried out in 4 stages, namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The instruments used were teacher and student observation sheets, test instruments, and field notes. The results showed that the average score of the students' comprehension test results at the end of cycle I was 67, then increased to 78 at the end of cycle II. Meanwhile, the percentage of teacher activity also increased, from cycle I to 72%, and in cycle II to 85%. In addition, student activity also increased from 65% to 82%. Thus it can be concluded that the use of demonstration methods with teaching aids can improve students' understanding of the operations of addition and subtraction of integers.

Abstract

Each educational process requires a strategy in delivering the learning curriculum that will be learned to students. He gives too many goods of examples in everything, including how if a teacher conveys knowledge to his students. Of all the learning methodologies taught by the Prophet Muhammad, there is one core thing that becomes a guideline for every teacher or educator, namely civility. Conscientiousness is the source of examples from educators to students. Because a simple example of what students get is, of course, the educator. There are three concrete and simple things that students can see and model from their teachers, namely polite, compassionate and simple. There are many methods that can be learned also taken from the Prophet Muhammad. But in this paper, the author will only discuss 14 learning methods, Namely Exemplary Methods, Training and Familiarizing Methods, Giving Guidance and Direct Descriptions Methods, Explaining with Parables Methods, Gentle Teaching Methods, Methods of Giving Punishment and Rewards, Question and Answer and Discussion Methods, Presenting Stories that Contain Lessons Methods, Phasing and Repetition Methods, Situational and Conditional Methods, Advice Methods, Problem Solving Methods, Direct Practice Experience Methods, Communicating According to Children's Ratio Ability Methods.

Abstract

The problems studied in this study are related to the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Blended learning model on the mathematics problem solving ability of grade VIII students of even semester SMP Negeri 34 Bandar Lampung for the 2019/2020 academic year. This study used an experimental method with the population in this study, namely all students of class VIII even semester of SMP Negeri 34 Bandar Lampung which consisted of eight classes with a total of 238 students, while the sample was taken from two classes, namely class VIII-A as an experimental class that applied the Blended learning model. and class VIII-B as a control class that applies conventional learning models. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling technique. To find out the students' ability to solve mathematical problems, the writer conducted a test in the form of an essay of five questions which had been tested for validity and reliability first. Hypothesis testing in this study uses the t-hit formula. From the results of hypothesis testing using the t-hit statistical formula, the value of = 3.14 is obtained. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that = 1.68, then >, which means that the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who use the Blended learning model is higher than the average mathematical problem solving ability of students who use the learning model conventional.

Abstract

This study discovers a case study using a Zoom video conference to teach English to English Department Students (N=70) in STKIP-PGRI Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. This study aimed to uncover students’ perception of video conference activities' enlightening benefit and determine if Zoom improves writing ability. During the first semester, the instructors conducted 16 meetings in the Zoom conference, including materials and exercises to explore the writing subject. This research exposes the effectiveness of Zoom as an educational platform for teaching English. The researcher utilized open-response questionnaires as a qualitative and quantitative research method consisting of pre-test and post-test to evaluate the students’ writing ability.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the students’ English ability through selected response type by Socrative APP. The instruments of the test were multiple choice items and semi-structure interview to the students and lecturers. The tests were used multiple-choice items that consisted of 45 items; 25 items for structure and for reading sections 20 items. The test was designed based on the validity, reliability and curriculum. The sample of this research was 32 students of the first semester in Musi Rawas University. The result of this study showed that the students were mastered structure/grammar section more rather than reading section test. Their lecturers often taught grammar rather than reading and their lack of interest in reading were the reasons.

Abstract

Diklat penguatan kepala sekolah secara daring pertama kali dilaksanakan di Bali oleh LPD Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: pengaruh koneksi internet terhadap motivasi kepala sekolah dalam mengikuti diklat penguatan kepala sekolah secara daring; pengaruh pemahaman teknologi terhadap motivasi kepala sekolah dalam mengikuti diklat penguatan kepala sekolah secara daring; serta pengaruh koneksi internet dan pemahaman teknologi secara bersama-sama terhadap motivasi kepala sekolah dalam mengikuti diklat penguatan kepala sekolah secara daring. Data dianalisis dengan statistik analisis regresi berganda. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 65 orang kepala sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan koneksi internet terhadap motivasi kepala sekolah. Jika dilihat dari pemahaman teknologi terhadap motivasi kepala sekolah juga terdaat pengaruh yang signifikan. Secara bersama-sama prediktor X1 (Koneksi Internet) dan X2 (Pemahaman Teknologi) terhadap Y (Motivasi), diperoleh hubungan signifikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan signifikan antara Koneksi Internet dan Pemahaman Teknologi terhadap Motivasi Kepala Sekolah Dalam Mengikuti Kegiatan Diklat Penguatan Kepala Sekolah Secara Daring di LPD Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dan simpulan maka dapat disarankan kepada para kepala sekolah mempertahankan motivasi, sehingga dapat menjadi contoh bagi para guru.

Abstract

Pembelajaran daring memberikan solusi bagi dunia pendidikan pada masa pandemi covid-19. Namun ada banyak masalah yang dihadapi dalam proses pembelajaran secara daring, terutama bagi mahasiswa dalam menumbukan inovasi dankreativitasnya pada mata kuliah Kewirausaaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pembelajaran daring dan minat belajar secara bersama-sama terhadap kreativitas mahasiswa pada mata kuliah kewirausahaan secara simultan dan parsial di Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia. Data dianalisis dengan statistik analisis regresi linear berganda dua prediktor. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 94 mahasiswa. Berdasarkan analisis data dan temuan penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan beberapa hal sebagai berikut: 1) Kreativitas mahasiswa pada mata kuliah kewirausahaan di Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia dipengaruhi signifikan oleh variable pembelajaran daring dan minat belajar secara simultan; 2) Secara parsial pembelajaran daring dan minat belajar memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap Kreativitas mahasiswa pada mata kuliah kewirausahaan di Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia. Dengan demikian, temuan studi ini dapat dijadikan informasi yang positif bagi para dosen pengampu mata kuliah kewirausahaan terkait faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat kreativitas mahasiswa

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine the role of teachers and parents in handling hyperactivity child behavior aged 4-5 years. This study is also to know the importance of cooperation between teachers and parents in assisting hyperactive children. Descriptive qualitative methods is used in this study. The data collecting technique are observation, interviews and documentation. The results show that the importance of the role of the teachers in recognizing, understanding the characteristics of hyperactive children and accompanying the learning and socializing process of children in class based on emotional, cognitive, and social aspects. In addition, the role of parents in providing attention, affection, also learning assistance at home. As well as providing opportunities for children with hyperactive tendencies to interact with the environment. The pattern of cooperation between teachers and parents is also realized by always coordinating and providing information about children’s development. Puzzle games are given as a means to train children’s focus.

Abstract

A good teaching and learning process requires students to be more active so that the teaching and learning process must reflect two-way communication, not just providing one-way information from the teacher without developing students' mentality. Less varied learning and does not use the media as a learning aid so that students feel bored and do not participate in social studies learning activities. Based on this problem, researchers used the Think Pair Share learning model to improve the quality of social studies learning materials for Indonesian society during the Praaksara, Hindu-Buddhist and Islamic periods. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this study were 32 students of class VIIC at SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung for the 2018/2019 academic year, consisting of 18 male students and 14 female students. Data collection techniques used test and non-test techniques. This classroom action research was conducted in 2 cycles, each consisting of 2 meetings. Each meeting consists of 4 stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results showed that: (1) The application of the Think Pair Share Learning Model in social studies learning can improve teacher skills, this is indicated by the increase in teacher skills in each cycle, the first cycle gets a score of 8 in the good category, increases in the second cycle it gets a score of 11 in the very category. good. (2) the application of the Think Pair Share Learning Model in social studies learning can increase student activity as indicated by the increase in the first cycle, the number of scores of 189 good categories increased in the second cycle, which got a score of 223 in the very good category. (3) The application of the Think Pair Share Learning Model in social studies learning can improve student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle stage, 25% of student learning completeness or 8 of the 32 students have completed learning. Increased in the first cycle to 59.4% or 19 students from 32 students. In the second cycle it increased again to 81.25% or 26 students from 32 students. (4) The application of the Think Pair Share Learning Model can improve the quality of social studies learning, this is indicated by the improvement of teacher skills, student activities and learning outcomes. The conclusion of this research is that through the Think Pair Share learning model, it can improve social studies learning outcomes of Indonesian Society Material during the Praaksara, Hindu-Buddhist and Islamic periods of class VII SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung 2018/2019. Suggestions for teachers are that teachers need to follow the development of information, especially regarding the use of the latest learning approaches, models, models and strategies, so that teachers can apply them in the classroom and are expected to be able to conduct creative and innovative learning that is able to motivate student activity in learning.

Abstract

Politeness in language is very necessary in communicating. By having polite language besides one's relationship can be better, one's heart will not be hurt by listening to the spoken words. The formulation of the problems in this study are: 1) What is the expression in the greeting of students to lecturers through the WhatsApp social media? 2) To what extent does the utterance include positive politeness and negative politeness? This study aims to describe politeness in the use of student greetings to lecturers during lecture assignment guidance interactions. Data collection was carried out through field research using a sociolinguistic approach. The research method used is the observation method and the method of observation using the technique of free listening proficiently, note-taking techniques and recording techniques. Data were analyzed descriptively. The population of this study were all greeting speeches of students in the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. The sample of this research is a number of utterances which are considered to represent the first semester students in FK. The results showed that there were four forms of use of the principle of politeness. From this study it was found that the average student was good at placing utterances that should be spoken to the lecturer. Besides that, it was also found that sometimes students seemed to be pushy in asking for a response from the lecturer. This is certainly not polite to do especially in an academic environment. In this study, more positive politeness was found.
