Abstract

Reading is the process of receiving information and knowledge for a better life. Reading habits should be formed by the environment. Village is the smallest environment of a country and it has a significant influence in formed a habits of their society. Cultivating Reading Culture is expected to be a good national character. The reading level of the Indonesian people is still very low and therefore a method is needed in cultivating a reading culture. Based on the other and prevous study reading motivation influences the culture of reading and reading habits. Therefor, it is crusial to find out model of teaching or motivate students or children’s to read. In order to follow up research on reading culture and support the government in finding methods to cultivate the reading culture of Indonesian people starting from remote area so that they are able to play an active role in releasing their backwardness, this research is carried out. This research was conducted in Lubuk Pauh Village, BTS ULU District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. This study involved 206 village children who were under 15 years of age that randomly divided into two, the treatment group and the control group. Treatment is carried out for 16 meetings. The reading model by using children's books can improve children's reading culture in remote areas by looking at the enthusiasm of children and parents towards the implementation of activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the step of using image media to improve science learning result in thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City. This research uses class actions research methods are carried out in the two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The data sources of this research is the fifth grade students of thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City in academic year 2018/2019 to 25 students. The techniques of data collecting were test, interview, observation and documentation. The data analysis is used by this research is kuantitatif and kualitatif data analysis. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the using of image media can improve grade V students’ Science learning achievement by in thirteen Chatolict elementary school of Saint Paul, Manado City. The results showed that: (1) teacher skill in the first cycle 87,5% with good criteria and in second cycle obtained 90,65% with very good criteria; (2) student activity in the first cycle 73,75% with the criteria was active enough and in second cycle obtained 78,13% with active criteria; (3) student learning result in the first cycle 52% and the second cycle 84%. Suggestions in this researh was that: (1) using of image media could become as a teacher’s solution to improve the quality of natural science learning. (2)the teacher of learning science subject have to study the using learning methods, models and media to give learning spirit for the students.

Abstract

The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research or classroom action research which is carried out in 3 cycles. The research was conducted in October 2019. This study aims to determine the increase in student learning activities and learning outcomes during learning by applying contextual learning to social studies subjects in class VII SMP Negeri 11 Bandar Lampung TP. 2019/2020. The results of the research and observations were obtained: 1) student learning outcomes measured from the cognitive aspect, namely the class average in cycle I was 69.29 with classical completeness 65.71 and 2) in cycle 2 the class average value was 76.86 with completeness classical reached 80%, followed by 3) in the third cycle the average value was 81.57 with 91.43% classical completeness. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of contextual learning can improve learning outcomes in the implementation of social studies learning in class VI SMP Negeri 11 Bandar Lampung TP 2019/2020.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the optimism profile of students studied by exploring the tendencies of optimism and pessimism that exist in each student. The approach used in this research is quantitative descriptive survey type. Determination of the sample is done by random sampling of 154 students guidance and counseling. The research instrument uses an optimism scale which is an adaptation of the Life Orientaion Test (LOT) instrument. The data analysis technique uses descriptive quantitative data analysis. The results showed 63.64% of students had a high level of optimism, 35.06% in the medium category, and 1.30% in the low category. This finding shows that the majority of students have a high level of optimism. In addition, from various levels of optimism, it is also known that 92.21% of students have a tendency to be optimistic compared to pessimists, 4.54% tend to be pessimistic rather than optimistic, and 3.25% have a balanced tendency between optimism and pessimism for each individual. More in-depth discussion and research must be conducted to find out whether a high level of optimism has a positive impact or a negative impact on students, given the high optimism also needs to be balanced with a healthy level of realism.

Abstract

The problem found is the low ability of teachers to prepare lesson plans in accordance with adherence to process standards. Meanwhile, one of the teacher's duties is to plan learning well in order to achieve maximum learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability of teachers to prepare a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) through continuous guidance at TK Masjid Agung Lampung Selatan. The results showed that in the first cycle the teacher's ability reached a score of 37 or reached 52% and the second cycle reached a score of 68 or reached 95%. Thus, the ability to compile a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) can be improved through continuous guidance to the Kindergarten Teachers of the Great Mosque of South Lampung.

Abstract

The research objective is to increase the activity and learning achievement of Simple Technology by applying the Presentation Method to students of the Class BTK Kartika II-31 Bandar Lampung in 2019. The research method uses Classroom Action Research (Self Reflective Inquiry) which is carried out in three research cycles through the stages of planning, implementation. , observation and reflection. The implementation of 3 cycles and 3 meetings every cycle from January to April 2019. The results of the Cycle I study of learning outcomes averaged 63 with the category Enough, Complete 63%. In cycle II, the average learning result is 74 with Good category, Completed 83%. In Cycle III, the average learning outcome was 86 with the very good category, 96% complete. Learning activity in Cycle I was 63% active, Cycle II was 83% active and Cycle III was active 96%. Observer observations about teacher performance in learning average in good category. Thus, the application of the presentation method can increase the activity and achievement of simple technology learning in class B students at TK Kartika II-31 Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

Most of the students in class X do not understand the learning material for business entities in the Indonesian economy (Indonesian economic sectors). This is demonstrated by the difficulty in distinguishing between privately owned companies (BUMS) and state-owned enterprises (BUMN). Some of them are still unable to distinguish between business entities and companies. There are even some students who have not been able to distinguish between Village Unit Cooperatives (KUD) and cooperatives in general. The purpose of this study is to improve understanding of the concept of business entities in the Indonesian economy using cooperative learning with the Group Investigation model. The design of this research activity is an action research which consists of two cycles, in which each cycle includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection instruments in this study were a test at the end of each cycle and the teacher's and students' observation sheets. The results of research on student activity in cycle I, 64% in cycle II have increased by 76.33% including in the very active category. Completeness of cycle 1 was 76.25, individual completeness of 25 students was complete and 11 students had not completed it with a completeness percentage of 70%. In cycle 2 it increased by an average of 78.58, 27 students completed individual completeness and 9 students had not completed with a completeness percentage of 75%. Thus, there is an increase in student learning motivation followed by an increase in student learning outcomes with cooperative learning with the Group Investigation model.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the strengthening of student character in Indonesian courses including planning, implementation, assessment, inhibiting factors, and support. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subject of this research is a lecturer who teaches Indonesian language courses. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation analysis. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman analysis model. The results obtained, that character education has been integrated in Indonesian language learning, both in planning, implementation, and learning assessment. At the learning planning stage, Indonesian language lecturers have included character values ​​that will be implemented in learning in the syllabus and RPS. The implementation of Indonesian language learning as a whole has implemented character values. Assessment of Indonesian language learning based on the RPS made by Indonesian language lecturers includes affective, cognitive, and psychomotor assessments. Assessment is carried out through observation, questions, and classical discussions. Inhibiting factors for the integration of character strengthening for students in Indonesian language learning, that is lecturers having difficulty in choosing character values ​​and integrating them with learning materials, assessing the achievement of character education, and learning media that are less supportive. Supporting factors for the integration of character strengthening in Indonesian language learning, that is the campus environment, interactions between students, and a coherent teaching schedule.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the learning modelThink Pair Share (TPS) with the ability to communicate math at grade student viii even junior high school advent bandar lampung in year 2016/2017. Methods used in this research is the experimental methods using learning model Think Pair Share on class experiment and conventional kind on control class. As for the population of the research is all students viii even junior high school advent Bandar Lampung in year 2016/2017. Sample used were students class viii b as a class experimentation and class viii c as a class control. Sample using a technique to determine research clusters random sampling.The instrument used an essay test.Statistics with data analysis using formulas t-tes. The results of research and analysis of data is collected the value of thit = 5,60 and from the table the distribution of the first 5 % known tdaf = 2 then obtained thit > tdafso it will be concluded that there is the influence of “learning model think pair share ( tps ) on ability communication math class students viii even junior high school advent bandar lampung in year 2016/2017”.

Abstract

This study is a research and development which aimed to 1) the assessment of experts toward student worksheet activity mathematic on enriching of statistic based on higher order thinking skill; 2) the students' response toward student activity sheet mathematic on enriching of statistic based on higher order thinking skill. This research and development use through Thiagarajan, Semmel, dan Semmel (1974: 5-9) research and development method of modifications 4-D. Data collection techniques used four stage Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. This study, the product test used setting Lesson Study divide into three stage plan, do, see. The average score of expert assessment was 3,80 in valid criteria. The average score of student response was 4,32 in very good response, so it could be concluded that student activity sheet mathematic on enriching of statistic based on higher order thinking skill in the fourth grade of elementary school was able to take step and improve higher order thinking skill of students
