Abstract

This research analyzes the romance formula presented in Love, Rosie by discussing thestandard convention of the novel. The romance formula analysis tends to prove what is the socioculturalbackground in 20th century of Ireland society which becomes the cultural background ofthe novel. We discuss the issues among popular culture and also finding out the dominantcomponents of the story which builds the story into a romance story. The discussion is employed theCawelti’s concept and supported by Radway’s theory of romance. This study discusses Romanceformula in Love Rosie is presented by the two dominant elements, those are the romance plotformula and the characters. The inventions of the romance formula in Love Rosie is found in thewriting style of the novel. The novel is written in the form of instant messages and letters that aresent between the hero and heroine. The results of this study indicate that Love, Rosie has twodominant elements that built the story into a romance story. The first element is the story plot andthe second is the main characters of the story whom develops the love relationship in the story,which are the hero and the heroine. The story plot of Love, Rosie can be classified into four stages,those are the first meeting of Alex and Rosie, Alex and Rosie fall in love to each other, Obstacleswhich contain the internal and external conflicts of the hero and heroine, and the ending of thestory

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the teachers’ ability of SMAN 2 Pringsewu in preparing HOTS questions through individual guidance. This research was conducted in the even semester in 2018/2019 academic year with a total of 6 mathematics subjects. Data collecting technique used were questionnaires and observation instruments about the assessment tools. The result of Preliminary research indicated that the teacher does not understand what HOTS is about its characteristics and how to arrange it. After the implementation of individual guidance in the first cycle for the preparation and development of HOTS questions from 6 teachers obtained an average value of 85 and the results of the questionnaire about the attitudes of teachers towards individual guidance 83.33% agreed and 16.67% were still in doubt. This showed a positive attitude for the teacher towards individual guidance. From the second cycle the results of the study for the preparation and development of HOTS questions obtained an average value of 94% of questionnaires on the positive attitude of the teacher in the second cycle increased to 100% agreeing to the guidance model through individual guidance. This shows a very significant increase.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to increase the activity and learning outcomes of History. This research is a Classroom Action Research that is the process of learning problems in the classroom through self-reflection in an effort to solve these problems by carrying out various planned actions in real situations and analyzing each effect of the treatment. This research was designed in each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, evaluation and analysis and reflection of actions. The research subjects were 22 students of class XI IPS 1 of SMA Adiguna Bandar Lampung in the 2015/2016 Academic Year. Data collecting techniques using observation sheets, test techniques and documentation. The results showed an increase in learning activities and students’ learning outcomes each cycle, student learning activities in the initial conditions there were only 8 students or 36.36% increased to 14 students or 63.64% and 20 students or 90.91% in the last cycle. Thus, the average student learning outcomes also increased in each cycle from 62.25 increased to 72.05 in the first cycle and at the end of the second cycle increased to 79.55.

Abstract

Efforts to improve student understanding require effective and efficient methods. In addition, appropriate learning media are also needed so that students can master the competencies expected. In the teaching and learning process, the media has a very important role in supporting the achievement of learning objectives. The application of the demonstration method by using visual playing role playing in learning about the earth and celestial bodies is expected to arouse students' curiosity and interest as well as motivation to learn, also can facilitate students in understanding the material and information conveyed. While the objectives of this study are to increase understanding of the earth and celestial bodies in 6th grade students through the application of demonstration methods by using visual media to play roles. This research uses action research as much as three rounds. Each round consists of four stages: design, activity and observation, reflection, and refinement. The targets of this study were students of grade VI SDN 01 Sukarame, Bandar Lampung City. The data obtained in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities. From the results of analysts it was found that student achievement increased from cycle I to cycle II namely, cycle I (25.92%), cycle II (92.59%). The conclusion of this research is the teaching method of demonstration with role playing visual media can positively influence learning motivation of Grade VI students of SDN 01 Sukarame,Bandar Lampung City, and this learning model can be used as an alternative to learning science.

Abstract

The attitude of students' disinterest and the inaccuracy of the teacher in choosing techniques or learning methods for learning to write poetry, it is necessary to research effective learning techniques for learning to write poetry. This study also aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of word series techniques in improving the ability to write creative poetry. The results showed a significant difference in the posttest scores of creative writing poetry of the control group and experimental group students. In the control group there were 6 students who got low scores, 29 students got medium scores, and 2 students got high scores. In the experimental group there were 2 students who got low scores, 18 students got medium scores, and 15 students got high scores. This shows that there are significant differences in the ability to write creative poetry between the control group and the experimental group. The t-test results of the pretest and posttest scores of the experimental group produced a tcount of 2007 with a df of 35 and a table of 0.13 at a significance level of 5%. This shows that the effective word series technique is used in learning to write poetry because the value of t-count <-table (-2.007 <- 0.13).

Abstract

Strengthening Character Education has become a breath of fresh air for the implementation of education. Character has become an obligation to be fostered continuously and needs to be directed until it is actually on track. For this reason, students need guidance and direction regarding the path that must be taken in the present and in a reflective way for the future. With the introduction of character education and its strengthening in learning, students will be patterned and systematized their behavior in a direction that is in accordance with the norm. The end result is to become Indonesian people with noble character and in accordance with the spirit of the National Mental Revolution Movement.

Abstract

This paper focuses on developing students' historical awareness in history learning in high school through the inquiry method. The purpose of this study was to identify the development of students' historical awareness through film media with the theme of Indonesian history. Data obtained through books, journals, theses, proceedings, and websites related to the object of research were then analyzed using text analysis techniques. The results showed that film media was very helpful in making history learning more interesting, showing students that the facts exist and also providing opportunities for students to actively participate in history learning and encouraging students to be active in responding to questions and problems and drawing their own conclusions: critical thinking, logically, critically, and systematically so that historical awareness grows stronger.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the evaluation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung and the problems faced. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with a survey method conducted online. Primary data collection was carried out by distributing online questionnaires to 133 respondents of Elementary School Teacher Education students who experienced the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic. In addition, supporting data with secondary data, namely documents, news, and articles related to online learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The results showed that the independent learning system seemed forced so that it made students feel bored quickly. For this reason, guidance is needed to foster the process of student learning independence, namely through positive discipline. The weakness in online learning is the lack of maximum student involvement.

Abstract

The problems studied in this study relate to the less than optimal achievement of students' mathematics learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Numbered Head Together learning model on mathematics learning outcomes for grade VIII Odd Semester students of SMP Negeri 27 Bandar Lampung in the 2021/2022 academic year. This study used an experimental method with the population in this study, namely all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 27 Bandar Lampung which consisted of 8 classes with a total of 242 students. Meanwhile, two classes were taken as samples, namely class VIII A as the experimental class that applied the Numbered Head Together learning model, and class VIII E as the control class that applied the conventional learning model. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling technique. To find out the students' mathematics learning outcomes, the author conducted a test in the form of an essay as many as 10 questions which had been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing in this study uses the t-hit formula. From the results of hypothesis testing using the t-hit statistical formula, the value of t = 2,93 is obtained. From the t distribution table at a significant level of 5%, it is known that t = 1,67 then  which means that the average mathematics learning outcomes of students who use the Numbered Head Together learning model are higher than the average mathematics learning outcomes of students who use the model. conventional learning.

Abstract

The results of initial observations, thematic learning in grade IV students of SDN 1 Bendorejo Trenggalek is monotonous and teacher-centered. On average, each sub-theme contains 50% of students who have scores below the KKM. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the talking stick learning model and its effect on student learning outcomes. Methods of data collection using observation and tests. Quantitative research approach with One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The sampling technique used is Nonprobability Sampling with the type of Saturated Sampling, namely all fourth grade students as many as 12 students as respondents. Observations using the learning implementation sheet and hypothesis testing were carried out with the Paired Sample T Test. This is shown from the results of observing the implementation of learning, the percentage of learning implementation is 100%, which means that learning takes place very well and the Paired Sample T Test test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is a difference in the pretest posttest, so there is an effect of the talking stick learning model on the results. student learning.
