The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivation and interest in learning on the ability to write scientific papers. The effect of learning motivation and interest in learning shape the ability to write scientific papers. The research method used is a survey method. The sample is randomly selected, 65 students. Data collection was carried out by direct observation techniques and by distributing questionnaires. Data analysis used statistics, namely correlation test, coefficient of determination, and regression test. The results of the multiple linear regression test obtained the following equation: Y = 80,623 + 0,065 X1 + 0,086 X2. The influence of the learning motivation variable (X1) is 44,5%, and the influence of the learning interest variable (X2) is 26,9%. These calculations show that the influence of learning motivation is greater than interest in learning. Then, from the calculation of determination, R square or coefficient of determination of 0,020 means that 20% of the ability to write scientific papers is influenced by learning motivation and interest in learning meanwhile other variables outside the equation influence the rest.

Abstract

The article aims to discuss meanings and changes that occur and the factors that influence these meaning changes. In addition, it also discusses the impact of changes in the sense which sometimes lead to guidelines to the new understandings, beliefs, principles, or paradigms for a language-speaking community. The research method used is qualitative research, namely by explaining the existing data with words or statements, not with numbers. The focus of the study uses a conceptual approach about changes in meaning in the semantic aspect of lexicology. The study results show that the forms and procedures for changing meaning depend on their use in an utterance or written sentence, including addition, subtraction, or total change, both in terms of quantity and quality of words. The changes are in the form of generalization (tawsi' al-Makna), specification (tadhyiq al-Ma'na), metonymy (taghyir al-Makna), amelioration (ruqo al-Dilalah), and pejoration (Inhithath al-Makna). It is also in the technical consequences of misconceptions, frictions, misunderstanding, paradigm shifts or religious beliefs, and even the emergence of disintegration. The shifting meaning happens when the meaning changing is not managed or accommodated properly by the language speakers.

The color vocabularies in Sumenep Madurese dialect are in the form of lingual unit of word, such as the naming of basic colors because they are monolexemic, and lingual unit of phrase, such as derived colors from the basic or non-basic colors. The implicational hierarchy of basic colors in the Sumenep Madurese dialect is different from the implicational hierarchy of basic colors in Berlin and Kay's theory which was the result of 80 world language studies. The environment and the different habits of speech communities influence this difference. In brief, language as a cultural product affects the formation of the color lexicon.
