Abstract

Lansia merupakan fase akhir kehidupan manusia sehingga terjadi penurunan fungsi  organ. Kurang gizi merupakan masalah yang sering terjadi pada lansia. Hal ini akibat tidak tercukupinya asupan energi dan protein. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengetahui hasil penggunaan instrumen pengkajian status gizi pasien geriatri di Puskesmas Kota Matsum Kota Medan tahun 2018. penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kategorik yang dilakukan secara cross sectional, sampel diambil menggunakan rumus Slovin dipilih secara consecutif sampling. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 93 orang. Pada penelitian ini didapati responden tebanyak pada usia 60-74 tahun (89,3%) dan berdasarkan jenis kelamin adalah perempuan (54,8%). Status gizi berdasarkan IMT didapati hasil terbanyak responden dengan gizi nomal (64,5%) dan berdasarkan MNA didapati hasil terbanyak pada responden dengan resiko malnutrisi (59,2%). Pada penelitian ini didapati hasil terbanyak pada usia 64-70 tahun dan perempuan lebih banyak dari pada laki-laki. Dilihat dari segi status gizi, didapati hasil tebanyak dan yang beresiko malnutrisi.

Abstract

According toWHOhypertension about 26.4% of world population who have suffered hypertension. It wouldprobably increase up to 29.2% in 2025.  Usually,hypertension medical care uses convensional medicine, however itpossessessome side effects and could causecomplication.For that reason, herbal medicine is needed for safer andmore effective purpose.  One of herbal medicines is olive leaf (Olea europea L).It aimed to figure out effect of oliveleaf extract (Olea europaea L.) on declining blood pressurein whitemale rat wistar strain (Rattus novergicus strainwistar) after 5.5% Natrium Chloride (NaCl) induction.24 of rats were divided into 4 groups of treatments and 5.5%NaCl inductions. Group I, as a control withaquadest treatment, Group II was inducted with 540 mgs of olive leafextract, Group III was inducted with 1080mgs of olive leaf extract, and Group IV was inducted with 2160 mgs ofolive leaf extract. Data were Analyzed byOne way ANOVA then followed with Post-hoc test using LeastSignificant Differences (LSD) test. From the group I, the mean of pretest was 117.83/150.83mmHg and  the meanof post test was117.83/141.67 mmHg. Group II, the mean of pretest was 123.67/156,00 mmHg and the mean of posttest was87.00/116,00 mmHg. Group III, the mean of pretest was 123.50/156.83 mmHg and  the mean of post testwasand  the mean of post test was 81.67/112,50 mmHg. Group IV the mean of pretest was 119.00/156.50 mmHgandthe mean of post test was 80.00/105.00 mmHg.There were effects of olive leaf extract (Olea europaea L.) in 540mgs, 1080 mgs and 2160 mgs toblood pressure declining in white male rat wistar strain (Rattus novergicus strainwistar) after 5.5% NatriumChloride (NaCl) induction.  The higest blood pressure declining was in Group IV of 2160mg olive leaf extractinduction.

Abstract

 Penyakit Akibat Kerja (PAK) merupakan masalah kesehatan akibat kerja, khususnya pada perusahaan industri. Kasus PAK di dunia tercatat lebih dari 30% PAK merupakan penyakit paru. Penurunan faal paru dapat diakibatkan oleh beberapa faktor terutama pada pekerja industri. Faktor yang mempengaruhi penurunan faal paru diantaranya adalah lingkungan kerja dan karakteristik pekerja. Menganalisis lingkungan kerja dan karakteristik pekerja terhadap faal paru pekerja industri papan semen rata di PT “X” Malang. Observasional, Pendekatan Cross Sectional, Total Sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pekerja yang memiliki gangguan faal paru sebanyak 202 pekerja (71%), 68% diantaranya mengalami gangguan faal paru tipe restriktif dan 3% mengalami obstruktif. Faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap faal paru berdasarkan uji korelasi adalah status gizi, kebiasaan olahraga, kebiasaan merokok, penggunaan APD saat bekerja dan riwayat pekerjaan sebelumnya di bidang industri dengan p value < 0,05. Sehingga hasil analisis uji statistik yang telah dilakukan membuktikan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara lingkungan kerja dan karakteristik pekerja terhadap faal paru pekerja industri papan semen rata di PT “X” Malang. Status gizi, kebiasaan olahraga, kebiasaan merokok, penggunaan APD (masker) dan riwayat pekerjaan sebelumnya di bidang industri berpengaruh terhadap faal paru pekerja industri papan semen rata di PT “X” Malang. Kata Kunci: PAK, Gangguan Faal Paru, Pekerja Industri, Lingkungan Kerja, KarakteristikPekerja

Abstract

Preface :Patchouli Oil requires toxicity testing for safety before we can use it widely. It causes side effects such as nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite in some people. Determination of lethal concentration 50% (LC50) in the early stages of zebrafish embryos development will provide an easier, faster and precise prediction of toxicity. At a certain dose, it can cause impairment and death toward organisms. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine LC50 of Patchouli Oil in carboximethyl cellulose emulsifier towards zebrafish embryo (Danio rerio).Method :Laboratory experimental study was using zebrafish embryos at 2 hours post fertilization. The total of 160 embryos were used and divided into 8 groups, i.e.; Negative control (KN) was given the embryonic fluid, positive control 1 was given 5000 ppm of patchouli oil (KP1), positive control was given 5000 ppm of CMC (KP2), and 5 treatment groups, i.e.; concentration of 10 ppm (P1), 30 ppm (P2), 60 ppm (P3), 90 ppm (P4) and 120 ppm (P5) of Patchouli oil which was emulsified in CMC. The study was conducted with 3 times repetition. Data collection was done by calculating total of embryo’s deaths for each treatment at 24-72 hours of exposure. Data were analyzed using Regression Probit Analysis.Results :Mortality in the group of KN was 1.6%, KP1 was 98.3% and KP2 was 0%. Meanwhile in the treatment group of P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 respectively were 0%, 5%, 10%, 25%, and 50%.Conclusion :Based on these results, Lethal Concentration 50% of Patchouli Oil in CMC emulsifier towards zebrafish embryo is 120 ppm.

Abstract

Someone who dies will experience a decrease in body temperature from body temperature at the beginning of death, both within normal and abnormal limits to room temperature. Decrease in body temperature according to sex may differ in duration. Coupled with exposure to methanol, it is also possible to influence a decrease in body temperature of the corpse. This study aimed to analyze the differences in body temperature reduction in male and female Wistar rats  induced with methanol.This research is an experimental study with a pre and post test control group design approach. The design of this study was to observe the body temperature of male and female Wistar rats while still alive and after death and the duration of decrease in body temperature of male and female Wistar mice after being induced with methanol. The population studied was male and female Wistar rat. Based on the results from analysis test, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the decrease in body temperature of male and female Wistar rats that died induced by methanol, but there is a significant difference between the decrease in body temperature of male and female Wistar rats who died induced by methanol and without methanol.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Stroke is still the main cause of morbidity and mortality in the world. Research found "aspirin resistant" in 5-60% of cases, it’s necessary to develop researches related to antiplatelet therapy. In the antiplatelet research on plant extracts, some were significant and some weren’t. To determine active compound of plant extracts, fractions, mechanism of action, extraction method, isolation methods of active compounds with antiplatelet activity. Literature studies with a systematic approach, data from original articles in GoogleScholar, PubMed. Obtained 32 literatures through data quality analysis and topic suitability. Data synthesis using PICO method. 30 journals significantly have antiplatelet activity, 2 weren’t, the most found compounds were flavonoids, quercetin. Mechanism of action as an antiplatelet, antithrombotic. Extraction methods maceration, reflux, juice, sonication, soxhlet, distillation. The isolation methods using CC, HPLC, TLC, NMR. Conclusion: Insignificant results are from AGE and raw, boiled, fried garlic, both tested in vivo. Journals that significantly have antiplatelet results are from extracts of strawberries, grape seeds, Allium sp., Bay leaves, mango peel, tomatoes, Hawthorn, C.aromatica Salisb., Red ginger, G.verrucosa, S.polycystum, olive leaves, M.alba, P.baumii, R.vernicflua, A.shikokiana, katuk leaves, tempuyung leaves, red cabbage, M.obovata, lempeni leaves, kajajahi leaves, starfruit leaves, U.macrocarpa, M.citrifolia, C.limon, L.japonica, E.bicyclis, S.deserta, V.labrusca. Most found active compound with antiplatelet activity are flavonoids, fraction quercetin. Mechanism of action on COX-1, AA, TXA2, P13K pathways, increased cAMP, VASP stimulation. Abstract

Hyperglycemia in people with diabetes mellitus causes oxidative stress which can interfere with the provision of nutrients through blood vessels to the tissues that form spermatozoa so that it interferes with the process of spermatogenesis in the testicular organs. Coffee contains caffeine and chlorogenic acid which functions as an antioxidant to improve spermatogenesis abnormalities which causes decreased number of normal spermatozoa. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of coffee in improving the number of spermatozoa of alloxan induced wistar white rats.. Methods this study uses Post-test only laboratory experimental research with control group design. Submitting 30 rats divided into 5 groups: normal control (given aquades), negative control (induced alloxan + aquades), setting 1 (induced alloxan + coffee 0.054 gram / 200 gramBB), aid 2 (alloxan induced + coffee 0.108 gram / 200 gramBB ) and treatment 3 (alloxan + coffee induced 0.162 gram / 200 gramBB). Provision of coffee carried out for 14 days, rats terminated on the 15th day. Testicles are taken then observed and counted spermatozoa. One-way ANOVA test results show the value of p = 0.000. In the LSD test between the normal control group (aquades) and negative control (diabetic rats without treatment) had a value of p = 0.042, whereas in the treatment group 1.2.3 with a negative control had a value of p = 0.000. Provision of coffee can increase the number of spermatozoa white wistar strain alloxan induced.

Abstract

World TB report from World Health Organization (WHO) in 2017 informed that Indonesia was second country with TB case. Multi Drug Resistance pulmonary infection’s case in Indonesia were 12.000. Kariadi hospital is one of tertiary hospital for pulmonary MDR-TB treatment but, there is no study about risk factor of it yet, so it needed to find risk factors of MDR-TB pulmonary infection in Kariadi hospital. Cross Sectional design using secondary data from Medical Record  from January 1st -  December 31, 2017 with result of Mycobacterium tuberculosis on GeneXpert sputum examination. Bivariate analysis with Chi square test and multivariate analysis was done by multiple logistic regression. The p value was considered significant if <0.05, all analyzes were 2-tailed. Totally 110 patients were obtained during periode, 55 samples for case and 55 samples for control. There were correlation between smoking habit OR = 3,1 (CI 95% 1,1-8,7), malnutrition OR = 2,9 (CI 95% 1,3-6,3), contact with patient with MDR pulmonary TB infection OR = 12,0 (CI 95% 1,5-97,3), past treatment  OR = 81,7(CI 95% 23,4-285,2) and ≥6months past treatment OR = 94,5 (CI 95% 12,1-736,2. Risk factor that could influence together were contact with patient with MDR pulmonary TB infection OR = 34,5 (CI 95% 2,6-464,5), past treatment OR = 39,4 (CI 95% 8,3-186,3) and ≥ 6months past treatment OR = 12,4 (CI 95% 1,3-117,7). Risk factors for the incidence of pulmonary MDR TB infection are past contact with patient with MDR pulmonary TB infection, past treatment  and  ≥ 6months past treatment.

Abstract

Type-2 diabetes is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels due to decreased insulin secretion by pancreatic beta cells, or inappropriate insulin action. The pathophysiology of type-2 diabetes is related to inflammatory mechanisms caused by an increase in proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-6. Propolis has an anti-inflammatory role that can influence type 2 diabetes. To determine the effect of propolis as an anti-inflammatory to the IL-6 cytokines in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus A Literature review by searching electronic databases on Pubmed, ProQuest, and Google Scholar with the keywords "propolis or bee propolis and IL-6 levels or interleukin-6 levels and diabetes type-2 or type-2 diabetes" published in 2010-2020. Based on the search results, 9 journals were found. These articles consist of 5 experimental articles and 4 RCT articles. Five databases reported a decrease in IL-6 levels and three journals stated that there was an increase in IL-6 levels in the type-2 diabetes group after being given propolis. One journal reported no significant difference. Variations in propolis administration and time in IL-6 measurements affected the tendency to decrease IL-6 levels in type 2 diabetes patients. The active components in propolis were influenced by differences in plant resources, collection season, bee species, and solvents used in the extraction. IL-6 levels in the type-2 diabetes group tended to decrease after propolis administration compared to the type-2 diabetes group without propolis administration. IL-6 levels in the type-2 diabetes group increased after propolis administration because IL-6 helps improve chronic inflammation associated with type-2 diabetes.

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) is a label for the perception of pain or pain in the musculoskeletal system. MSDs can be caused by the equipment, techniques, and activities performed during work. Harvesters who use manual techniques or cutting egrek have the potential risk for MSDs as a result of an ergonomic work attitude and posture. This study aims to determine the profile of oil palm harvesters using cutting egrek techniques. This research is a descriptive research with the survey method. Samples were obtained by systematic random sampling method, amounting to 82 people. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Most CuE technique oil palm harvesters were at the age of 41-50 years, working period of 6-10 years, and with a work posture that needed immediate improvement, and 76.8% suffered from MSDs complaints. So that it is necessary to have immediate intervention from companies and workers to reduce the risk of MSDs complaints in the future, especially in posture and work techniques.
