Abstract

Many activities have been carried out in the discourse of religious moderation on the internet. However, the activity of netizens search for information on the topic of religious moderation on the internet itself is still not well mapped. This paper aims to discuss trends in netizen search activities for information on the topic of religious moderation on the internet. The main data is sourced from Google Trends, which is focused on the period from December 2019 - December 2020. Data collection is done through documentation techniques. The data analysis process begins with restating the data that has been collected, then describes it, and finally the data interpretation stage is carried out. The result is that information search activities on the topic of religious moderation on the internet have not yet received massive search interest and a rich diversity of topics. The trend of searching for information on the topic of religious moderation on the internet has not yet reached high interest and is still not prevalent throughout Indonesia. This condition implies that efforts to promote the idea of religious moderation on the internet still need to be echoed again. The method used to build public attention to the topic of religious moderation cannot only be limited through the production of narratives or content about religious moderation in online media, but also needs to involve well-known figures who have high charismatics in the public sphere to build public attention. to be interested to browse and learn moderate religious knowledge on the internet.Keywords: Religious Moderation; Netizen; Internet

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between Hasan Al-Banna’s thoughts and the practice of Islamic education at Sekolah Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah Banjarmasin. This is a qualitative research by combining literature study and field study and conducted at that Islamic school. The data is collected through observation, interviews and literature study. The analysis reveals that the of Islamic education at Sekolah Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah Banjarmasin not only has a relationship with Hasan Al-Banna’s thoughts, but has an emotional and ideological connectedness to the Muslim Brotherhood and Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS). In addition, the practice of Islamic education at the school has ideological and applicative relevance to Al-Banna’s educational thinking. His thoughts become the ideological foundation of the school and then implemented in its curriculum and educational process. Specifically, the inspiration of the school’s educational practice comes from the Tarbiyah movement of the Muslim Brotherhood. It can be concluded that Sekolah Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah Banjarmasin makes Al-Banna’s religious ideology the foundation of its education, and, furthermore, is the actualization of the Tarbiyah Movement and the media for the educational actualization of Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS).Keywords: Hasan Al-Banna; Islamic Education; Integrated Islamic School

Abstract

This research aims to examine the opportunities and challenges in the use of animated films as a medium to instill religious moderation in Indonesia. The method used in this research is literature research by analyzing the results of research, legal text, and information related to religious moderation and animated film media. The results found that Indonesia has a great opportunity to utilize information and multimedia technology, especially in producing animated films. The opportunity can be detailed that Indonesia has a technology infrastructure that is almost evenly distributed in all corners of the country, rich in local culture and wisdom, and has reliable human resources in the field of multimedia technology. On the other hand, the rapid flow of information containing religious conservatism through online media and television media dominated by violence is a challenge for the Government of Indonesia. The ideology of religious moderation must be packaged creatively and attract the interest of the audience. Thus, understand the moderation of religion that is expected to be ingrained in the life of the nation and state.Keyword : Religious Moderation; Animated Film; Religious Conservatism

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze critical theory and constructivism as well as the Islamic perspective on these two things. This library research uses various references and references from existing books, national and international journals. The data obtained is then processed with data analysis techniques through the stages of collecting data on critical theory and constructivism through various sources and literature, understanding and analyzing the substance of critical theory and constructivism, and finding comparisons between the two, analyzing the Islamic perspective on critical theory and constructivism, and carry out verification and inference. The results show that critical theory invites us to realize that it is possible for a certain ideology to deliberately take advantage of the opportunity to make us neglect, then exploit, and take oppressive actions. While the constructivism paradigm presents an alternative in finding the truth about social reality, it also raises a shift in the rationality model in finding and establishing rules to a practical rationality model that emphasizes the role of examples and mental interpretation. In Islamic epistemology it is believed that humans not only know physical objects, but also non-physical objects. Muslim scientists use scientific methods that differ significantly from western scientists. Muslim scientists use the observation method (bayani) which comes from the senses, the logical or demonstrative method (burhani) which comes from the mind, and the intuitive method (irfani) which comes from the heart.Keywords: Critical Theory; Constructivism; Islamic Epistemology

Abstract

This study aims to explore the meaning or concept of the word “knowledge” often mentioned in the Quran and Hadith. The first step was by taking an inventory of the verses that talk about knowledge and then categorizing them thematically. The data obtained were then analyzed with the descriptive-analytical method. It resulted in three findings. First, the verses related to knowledge in the Quran and Hadith are still general and need interpretation to understand the essential meaning related to the definition or nature of knowledge conceptually. Second, there are three components in acquiring knowledge, namely the senses, reason, and inspiration. Third, interpretation gives birth to different opinions on the sources of knowledge, especially between Al-Ghazali and his rivals. Abstract

This study aims to explore the use of the Quranic verses as the spiritual shield for the people of Hanjalipan village. This is a qualitative study with an anthropological approach. Data were acquired through observation, interviews, and documentary studies. It was conducted for 3 months, from February to May 2020. The data were analyzed with the living Quran method. The findings of this study lead to the conclusion that the Hanjalipan villagers believe in the Quran not only as the holy book but also as something that has spiritual power and can bring help when it is read. This belief encourages them to make certain verses as the self-shield from various calamities, diseases, and threats.Keywords : Self-shield; Hanjalipan Village; Living Qur’an

Abstract

This article departs from the reality that textualism is still found in the discourse of defending God's religion, especially in classical interpretations of the Quran. Such an interpretation becomes a polemic indeed when we read it today. Al-Tabari, for example, interprets the discourse textually that to defend Allah means al-jihad fi sabilillah and therefore He will help. This article tries to reconsider the understanding of defending the religion of Allah in the surah Al-Hajj [22]: 40 and surah Muhammad [47]: 7. It uses the ma'na cum maghza method initiated by Sahiron Syamsudin. It tries to interpret the verses by tracing the literal understanding of the texts by reviewing them both linguistically and contextually. Afterwards it looks for the significance or the main message of the verses (maghza) which can be applied in this modern era. So, it is hoped that a contextual interpretation of the two verses will be born. This research concludes that what is meant by helping the religion of Allah is about conveying the truth, purifying Islam within Muslims themselves, respecting religious pluralism, understanding today's ameaning of the enemy of Islam  and the essence of jihad, one of which is inclusive thinking.Keywords: Reinterpretation, Ma'na cum Maghza, Helping Religion

Abstract

This study intends to understand the construction of the tawheed education in the Burdah recitation at Pondok Pesantren Maulana Rumi Timbulharjo Sewon Bantul. This is a field research and uses the social construction theory of Berger L. Peter and Thomas Luckman. It takes a qualitative approach. The data is collected by observation, interviews and documentation. The result concludes that the construction of tawheed education in the Burdah recitation is through three processes. First is the externalization process, because the knowledge of tawheed is given repeteadly both in Saturday night and Sunday Wage night gatherings. Second is the objectification, because the tawheed education becomes the truth and logical understanding, and it reminds us that everything originates from the Divine. Third is the internalization, because it is able to give motivation and spiritual peace to the audience and it eventually forms a noble personality.Keywords: Construction, Tawheed Education, Burdah Recitation

Abstract

Sultan Jalaluddin Akbar the ruler of the Mughals had the concept of Din Ilahi as a form of religious syncretism. Din Ilahi is a teaching of tolerance and religious pluralism which requires all religions to unite under its leadership. However, the concept of the Din Ilahi received a lot of criticism and challenges from Islamic circles, especially in the palace sphere. This article aims to briefly overview religious syncretism with the concept of Din Ilahi from Sultan Jalaluddin Akbar. This article also tries to portray how the concept of the Din Ilahi as a syncretistic thought has received a lot of criticism and challenges from Islamic circles. The method used is the historical research method or Historical Research which consists of four stages. These stages are heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The result found is that the Din Ilahi is not only a religious syncretism but also a political tool of Sultan Akbar in uniting every difference of belief in the Mughal Dynasty. The Din Ilahi in its teachings makes the majority of Muslims discriminated against. The Din Ilahi is considered to have harmed the actual teachings of Islam by mixing various religious teachings.KeywordsSultan Akbar;
