Abstract

This study aims to determine whether reality therapy group counseling, utilizing the WDEP (Wants, Doing, Evaluation, Planning) procedure, effectively reduces academic procrastination among high school students. A one‐group pretest‐posttest design was applied in this quantitative research. Data were gathered via purposive sampling from a population of 122 eleventh‐grade pupils at SMA Negeri 1 Loa Janan. 7 students exhibiting pronounced levels of academic procrastination, identified by the school counselor and homeroom teachers, were then selected to participate in the intervention. The researcher developed and validated the Academic Procrastination Scale to measure participants’ tendencies. Group counseling sessions incorporated WDEP steps alongside reality therapy techniques—statistical analysis employed paired‐sample t‐tests to compare pretest and posttest scores. Findings revealed a mean pretest score of 69.00, indicating high procrastination, which decreased to a mean posttest score of 41.28 after intervention. The paired‐sample t‐test yielded a p‐value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), confirming a statistically significant difference between initial and final measurements. Consequently, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, demonstrating that reality therapy group counseling combined with the WDEP procedure constitutes an effective strategy for reducing academic procrastination. These results contribute empirical support for integrating WDEP‐based reality therapy into school guidance and counseling programs. By providing a structured intervention framework, this study offers practitioners a practical, evidence‐based approach for addressing procrastination and enhancing student academic responsibility at the secondary education level.

Abstract

Many emerging adults in Indonesia, especially those in Jabodetabek, often experience feelings of loneliness, which distorts social cognition and behavior. This study investigates the influence of Instagram usage motives on loneliness among undergraduate students in the Jabodetabek area. 112 students participated in this study, and a correlation matrix analysis and linear regression were used to analyze the data. The instruments used were the Instagram Motives Questionnaire (IMQ) and the UCLA Loneliness Scale version 3 (ULS-3). This quantitative cross-sectional study found a significant negative correlation between social impact seeking Instagram usage motive and loneliness (rho=-0.203, p=0.031). The results of the linear regression analysis found that only the social impact-seeking dimension had an influence of 7.1% on loneliness. This fact indicates that the motive of seeking social impact on Instagram is associated with lower subjective feelings of loneliness during the emerging adulthood period. In contrast, other dimensions of Instagram usage motives did not show a significant influence on loneliness. It is suggested to the participants that they do several other religious and social activities besides using Instagram on their social media to reduce their loneliness.

Abstract

A manager plays a crucial role in translating organizational strategies into actionable measures at the departmental level. However, low levels of affective commitment among managers may hinder organizational progress. This study aims to examine the impact of transformational leadership training on enhancing the affective organizational commitment of managers at PT. X The training was designed to strengthen managers' psychological attachment to the organization by fostering greater alignment with organizational values and enhancing leadership capacities. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was employed. The participants consisted of seven department managers who underwent transformational leadership training. The training was structured based on the four dimensions of transformational leadership proposed by Bass and Avolio, namely idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The level of affective organizational commitment was measured before and after the intervention using a validated affective commitment scale. The paired sample t-test results indicated an increase in posttest scores (M = 75.5) compared to pretest scores (M = 56), with a mean difference of 19.57 and a significance level of p = 0.000 (p ≤ 0.001). These findings demonstrate that transformational leadership training significantly strengthens managers' emotional attachment to the organization. The results support the effectiveness of transformational leadership development programs, particularly within the hospitality industry, where emotional engagement plays a strategic role in enhancing service quality and employee retention.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of appreciative inquiry interventions in strengthening athlete mental toughness. The subjects in the study were Persinas Asad pencak silat athletes with a total of 40 athletes. The experimental research design used One Group Pretest-Postest using all subjects as the experimental group. Data analysis used Paired Sample T-Test, based on the results of pretest and posttest data. The results of this study indicate that appreciative inquiry has a significant impact, athletes are able to design future dreams and are able to develop strategies to make changes. The statistical results show a p value = 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that appreciative inquiry is effective in strengthening the mental toughness of Persinas Asad martial arts athletes.  The implication of this study is that this approach not only helps athletes recognize their best potential but also encourages them to set future visions and formulate realistic and directed strategies for achievement.

Abstract

Abstract :The acts of violence that are currently occurring are attracting enough public attention, be it physical, psychological, sexual, or domestic violence. Violence that occurs can have an impact on psychological disorders, thus affecting a person's mental health. To face this condition, survivors of violence need resilience, which is expected to help them survive so they can continue to live their daily lives well. The problems experienced by survivors of violence also involve emotions; where when individuals are able to regulate their emotions well, they will be able to achieve better mental health. This research aims to examine the moderating effect of emotional regulation on the relationship between resilience and mental health in survivors of violence. The research was conducted by distributing the scale to 101 female and male survivors of gender violence in Yogyakarta. Resilience was measured using the resilience scale, mental health was measured using the mental health scale (SKM-12), and emotional regulation used the emotion regulation scale. Data was processed using moderated regression analysis using the absolute difference test method. The results show that resilience (p = 0.000) directly influences mental health. Meanwhile, emotional regulation (p = 0.208) does not influence mental health. However, emotional regulation has been proven to moderate the relationship between resilience and mental health in survivors of violence.

Abstract

Social emotional health is essential for adolescents to develop positive competencies both physically and psychologically. Social emotional health is influenced by parental attachment as an external factor. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parental attachment on the social  emotional health of adolescents as students. This study was conducted at Institut Agama Kristen Negeri Kupang with a total of 185 adolescents who were students in the first semester of 2022. This study used quantitative research methods. This research instrument uses a social emotional health scale compiled by Furlong, et al (2016) called social emotional health higher education while  he parental attachment scale made by Armsden and Greenberg (2009) from the IPPA/Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment theory. The results of this study found there was a positive and significant effect of parental attachment on adolescent social emotional health with p = 0.000 and F = 89.986, R square = 0.330. Father's attachment has a contribution to adolescent social  emotional health by 15% while mother's attachment to adolescent social emotional health is 18% so that overall parental attachment both father and mother has a contribution to adolescent social  emotional health as a student by 33%. It is expected that adolescents can establish an attachment relationship with parents both father and mother to improve positive social emotional health.
