Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effect of the application of warm water foot soak therapy on blood pressure in hypertension patients in the Tanah Tinggi Health Center work area. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design by providing warm water foot soak therapy as an intervention. Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention to assess its effect. The sampling method was non-probability sampling with a total sampling approach, involving 27 respondents. Because the data was not normally distributed, statistical analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test with a significance level of ρ < 0.05. Results: The Wilcoxon test results showed a significance value of ρ = 0.000, which means ρ < 0.05. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. This indicates that there is a significant effect of warm water foot soak therapy in lowering blood pressure among hypertension patients. Conclusion: Warm water foot soak therapy has a significant effect on reducing blood pressure and can be used as a non-pharmacological method for managing hypertension in the Tanah Tinggi Health Center work area.

Abstract

Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of the Buteyko breathing technique in reducing symptoms of bronchial asthma. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-random control group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 20 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected using the Asthma Control Test (ACT) questionnaire and direct observation of breathing pattern changes before and after the intervention. Results: Prior to the intervention, 70% of respondents had uncontrolled asthma. After the intervention, 80% of respondents had well-controlled asthma and 5% had completely controlled asthma. Statistical analysis showed a significant effect of the Buteyko breathing technique in reducing asthma symptoms (p-value = 0.000). Conclusion: The Buteyko breathing technique is effective in reducing symptoms of bronchial asthma and can be used as a complementary therapy in the management of bronchial asthma in primary health care. It is recommended that health workers integrate this technique into asthma treatment strategies.

Abstract

Introduction: Stroke is a disease that disrupts brain function, which if not treated and controlled properly can increase the risk of further complications and even death. Unhealthy lifestyle habits will trigger an increase in blood pressure, blood glucose, hypercholesterolemia so that it can increase the probability of stroke risk. This condition requires pharmacological and non-pharmacological management. Non-pharmacological management by modifying lifestyle, one of which is doing physical activity. The aim is to describe physical activity in patients at risk of stroke at UPTD Puskesmas Gurah, Gurah District, Kediri Regency. Method: Descriptive research design, population of 147 people and research sample of 34 people using purposive sampling technique according to research criteria. The study was conducted in September 2024 using physical activity variables in patients at risk of stroke. The research instrument used the Barthel Index questionnaire, data was measured and analyzed using a percentage formula and interpreted quantitatively. Results: The results of the study obtained 34 respondents which showed that most respondents had independent physical activity, namely 19 respondents (56%), almost half of the respondents had a mild level of dependence, namely 8 respondents (24%) and a small number of respondents had physical activity with moderate dependence, namely 7 respondents (20%). Physical activity in patients at risk of stroke is influenced by marital status, smoking habits, age, living with a nuclear family, previous medical history, physical activity habits, and uncontrolled stroke triggers. Conclusion: Through this study, it is expected that patients and families can also implement non-pharmacological management by controlling trigger factors, patient compliance in controlling stroke trigger factors regularly by managing stress, and doing physical activity regularly.

Abstract

Introduction: Hemorrhoids are one of the most common anorectal diseases, with prevalence increasing with age. While various management and treatment options are available, sclerotherapy offers a minimally invasive alternative. Sclerotherapy has emerged as a promising non-surgical method, the lack of comprehensive clinical guidelines and the diverse research findings on its effectiveness create a need for a systematic review. This literature review aims to comprehensively analyze the existing evidence regarding the effectiveness of sclerotherapy as a non-invasive treatment for hemorrhoids. Methods: This study is a literature review analyzing 10 journals that meet the inclusion criteria. Data sources were obtained from scientific databases such as PubMed, Mendeley, and ScienceDirect using relevant keywords and were published within the last five years. A comprehensive literature search was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews (PRISMA) 2020 flow diagram. Results: Analysis of the 10 reviewed journals indicates that sclerotherapy is effective in reducing hemorrhoid symptoms, particularly bleeding and pain. Several studies also reported lower recurrence rates and faster recovery following sclerotherapy treatment. Conclusion: This systematic review highlights the safety and effectiveness of sclerotherapy in the treatment of hemorrhoids, with comparable success rates and fewer complications than other conservative or surgical methods. Further research is needed to optimize sclerotherapy techniques and evaluate its long-term outcomes

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the readiness to use the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) at RSUD Kanjuruhan based on the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Methods: A cross-sectional study design was employed, involving 220 healthcare workers selected from a total population of 424 using proportional random sampling. The variables examined included subjective norm, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, intention to use, and usage behavior. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression. Results: Subjective norm significantly influenced perceived usefulness (R²=0.374) and perceived ease of use (R²=0.544). Both perceived usefulness (R²=0.592) and perceived ease of use (R²=0.056) affected the intention to use, which in turn had a significant impact on usage behavior (R²=0.448). Perceived usefulness emerged as the strongest predictor of the intention to use HMIS. Conclusion: Managerial support is essential to strengthen social norms, enhance understanding of HMIS benefits among healthcare workers, and optimize training and system features to support the integration of technology into hospital work culture.

Abstract

Objective: Every teenager experiences changes during adolescence, even those who are autistic. Adolescents on the autism spectrum are more prone to experience sexual harassment because of their weak understanding of sexuality and frequent displays of inappropriate sexual behaviour. Method: The purpose of this project is to develop a product in the form of an e-module for parents on the autistic spectrum about adolescent sexuality education, as well as to explain the viability of the product to material specialists. Only the development step was modified in the research design, which was based on the ADDIE development design from Branch 2010. Procedures for acquiring data entail the creation of data and the use of validation techniques by experts in the media and material. Result: By examining the expert validation instrument score analysis data, one can determine that this product is practicable and of high quality. It is viable to inform parents of teenagers on the autism spectrum, as evidenced by the expert validation test results, which received a percentage score of 87 per cent. The expert validation test results for the content received a percentage score of 84 per cent, indicating that it was appropriate for learning by adolescents on the autistic spectrum. Conclusion: This study concludes that the E-module of Adolescent Sexuality Education with the Autistic Spectrum of Puberty for Parents deserves to be developed.
