Abstract

Background: Maintaining cuff pressure in the ideal range is the responsibility of nurse. This is needed to prevent the occurrence of complications caused by cuff pressure that is not ideal such as ischemia in the trachea and micro-aspiration.Objective: this study identified the effect of training toward nurse’s knowledge and skills intensive care unit in measuring endotrakeal tube cuff pressureMethod: This study used the quas experiment design with the pre-posttest method without control group design and analyzed statistically using the Wilcoxon test.Result: The results of the research conducted were twelve nurses in the intensive care unit at the regional general hospital in dr. Soedarso Pontianak showed a significant difference in knowledge (p 0.002, α 0.05) and skills (p 0.002, α 0.05) before and after training in endotracheal tube cuff pressure training.Conclussion: The researcher recommends that the measurement of cuff pressure be carried out in accordance with the indications so that it is expected to reduce the risk of complications caused

Abstract

Objective: to identify the Sundanese cultural value for family in mother’s postpartum care and new born baby Methods: Qualitative method was used in this study along with descriptive techniques to analyzed the data. Data mining is done using profound interview with four respondents who originally from the Sundanese tribe and live in Cipagalo village. Respondents are mothers who have two to six months old child.. Furthermore, the interview was also conducted with paraji as person who are still active giving services in the area. All data was collected by recording the conversations and based on the respondents’ consent. Next, the data were interpreted, reduced, and coded for final result. Analytical descriptive analysis was next conducted to this research findings using journals assessment. All findings were divided into three categories; useful findings, harmful findings, and insignificant findings. Useful findings are results that have scientific evidence and can be recommended to do. Harmful ones are things that are scientifically proofed to have harmful effect, whereas insignificant findings are results with unknown scientific proofs whether its harmful or not.Results:  Results in this study showed various Sundanese cultural habits in Cipagalo village:(1) There are some forbidden food and beverages during the postpartum phase, including spicy, sour, and cold ones.(2) Suggestion to consume apple during the postpartum phase.(3) Herbs or traditional potion for postpartum. Herbs can be consumed in various ways like (a) boiling and drinking it, (b) grating and squeezing it, (c) boiling and using it to wash the private area (smeared).(4) Rest and sleep pattern. There is tradition which done by the mothers; they should not take a nap in the afternoon, afraid that the white blood cells would go up the eyes, or they could take a nap in a seated position with both toes tied together in hope it would help to tighten mom’s private area.(5) Clothes and mother’s care. There is a habit of using corset (stagen) or what they called bebengkung, soaking feet in warm water, and massaging mom’s body.(6) Massaging mom’s body. Not only massaging body parts, there is also massaging the uterus (disangsurkeun).(7) Baby care culture and traditional ceremonies. This includes placenta burial using spices or what the sundanese called as bali, baby girls circumcision and ear piercing.Conclusion:  The habit of consuming apple, body massage, feet massage in warm water, the use of binahong leaves and ginger, handeuleum, and baby massage showed benefits not only for moms, but also babies during postpartum phase.

Abstract

Abstract                                                       Background: In developing countries, infant and child mortality rates are relatively higher compared to developed countries. The main causes of death are infectious and parasitic diseases, and many of them are associated with malnutrition. Infectious diseases are closely related to poor nutritional status. Purpose: to analyze the relationship between nutritional status of children with the incidence of infection in Getasan and see the factors that influence the incidence of infection. Methods: This type of quantitative research is cross sectional to study the relationship of nutritional status with the incidence of infection in Getasan. To find the relationship between nutritional status and infection using 2 methods, namely using descriptive analysis or univariate and bivariate using Spearmen R'ho Correlation Test. Results: Obtained a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.056 (α = <0.05). This shows that there is no correlation between toddler nutrition status and infectious events in Tolokan village. Discussion: Nutritional status is not only affected by infection in infants but also caused by several factors including genetic, psychological, social status, education, household income and the environment. Conclusion: Nutritional status in the village is caused by various factors, namely hand washing habits, smoking habits, the absence of chimneys and the presence of pets at home.Keywords: nutritional status, infection, infant.

Abstract

In the inpatient room of the Harapan Bunda Batam hospital nurses complained of excessive workloads and the number of nurses that did not match the number of patients who had to be served. High workload will reduce nurse performance. A good nursing performance will create quality implementation of a quality nursing process. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of workload components with the performance of implementing nurses in the inpatient room at Harapan Bunda Hospital in Batam. Descriptive analytic research design, "cross sectional" approach. Data collection was carried out from 5 to 17 January 2015 in total sampling. Data was collected by observation and using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square Test. The results showed the number of patients treated was not in accordance with the number of nurses, the type of nurse nursing activities were productive, the average time for nursing nurses implementing activities was effective, the performance of implementing nurses was good for, there was a significant relationship between the number of patients, types of activities nursing with nurse nurse performance, but there is no significant relationship between the average time of nursing activities with the performance of nursing nurses in the inpatient room of the hospital. Hope Mother. Suggestions for the nursing field that the system of providing professional nursing services in inpatient installations.

Abstract

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the association of consuming Fe tablets and the regularity of ANC visits with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the health center passo the city of Ambon.  Methods: The research design used in this study was analytic observational with a cross sectional study. The population is all pregnant women in the puskesmas working area pass the city from January to December 2017 using the total sampling technique. The sample in this study was 115 mothers. Results: The results showed the relationship between participation in consuming Fe tablets (p = 0,000) and regularity of ANC visits (p = 0.021) with the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at the health center passo in Ambon city. Conclusion: The conclusion in this study has to do with consuming Fe tablets and between the regularity of ANC visits and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women in the health center passo the city of Ambon. Needed for pregnant women to routinely carry out checks. Problems with anemia, special anemia can be detected and treated early.

Abstract

Objective: To find out the relationship between sanitation and feeding behavior of diarrhea occurrences in toddlers in the health center of Kedung Banteng.Method:This study was a quantitative analytic study with cross sectional approach. Proportional random sampling and simple random sampling were used as the sampling method. There were 87 toddlers as the respondents in the health center of Kedung Banteng, especially in Beji Village. Chi square formula was used to test the relationship between sanitation and feeding behavior of diarrhea occurrences in toddlers.Results: There was the relationship between the sanitation of the availability of clean water (P = 0.008), sanitation of healthy latrines (P = 0,000) and feeding behavior (P = 0.013).Conclusion: Poor sanitation and feeding behavior are able to increase the diarrhea occurrences.

Abstract

Growth and development is influenced by children consumption and parenting patterns. The prevalence of toddler malnutrition in Salatiga is still being targeted by the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in 2015. This study aims to look at feeding, growth and development patterns of toddler in the Cebongan Community Health Center Salatiga working area. The design of this study uses quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population was 631 toddlers aged 24-60 months with a total sample of 251 toddlers using the Slovin formula. Data collection techniques with cross sectional approach. The instruments in the study used the Denver Development Scrining Test (DDST), anthropometric measurements, and food frequency questionnare (FFQ). The results of this study indicate that there is an influence between consumption patterns and growth and development of toddlers and parenting patterns. The result was seen in the measurement of nutritional status in toddler growth found the prevalence of underweight (7%), short (17.5%), thin (15%), the results of the development test suspect (8%) and toddlers with normal categories (52.5%). The consumption patterns of toddlers are influenced by the mood of toddlers who like to choose foods according to their want and parenting patterns of parents who follow the want of children who can affect the nutritional status and growth and development of toddlers to be good and bad.

Abstract

Changes in foot posture in diabetic neuropathy patients affects the function of the legs as the base support in maintaining body balance. The study aimed to determine the correlation foot posture with functional balance in patients with diabetic neuropathy. This study design was analytic cross sectional, recruited 132 diabetic neuropathy patients. Statistical analysis used Chi Square, Pooled T-test, and multiple logistic regression. The results showed a significant correlation between foot posture and functional balance in diabetic neuropathy patients, the power of correlation is moderate and positive direction (p= 0.001; α= 0.05; r= 0,352). This study suggests the nurse to perform early detection and prevention of the risk of falls in diabetic neuropathy patients related to changes in foot posture and functional balance.

Abstract

Administering medicine is one of the most common nursing procedures performed by nurses. Factors that can influence the accuracy of drug administration are organizational factors, unit management factors, and individual factors. These three factors influence the behavior of nurses in drug administration and will ultimately have an impact on patient safety outcomes. The success of nursing services is largely determined by the performance of the nurses themselves Job satisfaction is one aspect of the individual psychological factors themselves. Job satisfaction is needed for nurses to be able to improve the quality of health services. Nurses having positive job satisfaction will produce quality services. The purpose of this study is know whether there is a correlation between nurses' job satisfaction and the accuracy of drug administration in the inpatient room at the Baptist Hospital in Batu. This type of research is a correlational research design used is cross sectional design. The populations in this study were all inpatient nurses who fit the inclusion criteria as many as 32 nurses. The sampling technique used is total sampling techniques and data collection is done through a questionnaire and checklist by using the Lamda test data analysis method. The results of the Lamda test have a probability (sig) of 0.033. As the probability value is <0.05, the interpretation of the results Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a correlation between nurse job satisfaction and the accuracy of drug administration in the inpatient room at the Baptist Hospital in Batu. The suggestions of this research is that it is expected that hospitals can improve the welfare of employees so that the quality of nurses' performance can be obtained for the advancement of service to patients.

Abstract

Background: Everyone has a risk of contracting tuberculosis, this disease also develops rapidly in areas that have high humidity. Mycobacterium is infecting through droplets released by the patient. TB treatment is a long-term treatment which medication is consumed every day, to achieve success in treatment requires adherence from patients to consume drugs.Objective: this research is to find out the factors that influence medication adherence of TB patients in Parongpong Health CenterMethod: Methodology of The study used is a quantitative research design with a correlation approach involving 23 respondents who are undergoing treatment at the Parongpong Community Health Center, respondents selected using purposive sampling. The instrument in this study was a questionnaire that was analyzed using the Spearman rho.Result: From the results of data analysis, it was found that gender had a significant relationship with medication adherence. The four factors studied have a significant relationship to medication adherence with p values <0.05, closeness of knowledge relations (0.620), self-stigma (0.467), self-efficacy (0.494), and family support (0.482)).Conclution: Respondents' knowledge is the most dominant factor in influencing medication adherence. Researcher given advice is to maintain adherence to take medication until the completion of the treatment program, to increase the cure rate of TB patients
