Abstract

Probability is one of the materials that makes students find it challenging to engage with contextual problems. In fact, the critical thinking ability of students at Junior High School Muhammadiyah 1 Pundong on probability is relatively low; this is shown by the results of tests conducted by researchers. The cause of weak critical thinking is the learning model used by teachers during the learning process, namely the traditional learning model where teaching materials are not available which contain materials and exercises that students can use for independent learning. This research aims to develop an E-worksheet with a scientific approach to improve critical thinking skills. This research is research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The tools used in this research are validation tools from material and media experts, student response tools and pretest questions. Based on the validity test of E-worksheet products based on a scientific approach, it achieved an average of 4 in the competency category for media and 3.83 for material, while E-worksheet had an average of 94.18 in student responses in convenient terms. Based on the results of the comparative analysis of the averages presented, random E-worksheet material based on a scientific approach is effectively used in developing students' critical skills. Improving learning outcomes is supported by several features contained in the E-worksheet application. However, there are obstacles to using applications that are only used on Android phones rather than on other types of smartphones. However, this does not become an obstacle to the learning process.

Abstract

One of the mathematics learning materials in class VIII, namely the system of linear equations in two variables, does not meet learning standards. One of the causes of students' critical thinking skills not being optimal is the lack of students' desire to ask questions. From the results of the pretest given by researchers to students, it appears that there are several errors in the system of linear equations in two variables equation material, namely that students are not able to model problems in mathematical form, students are also less capable. cannot fully apply the system of linear equations in two variables method. This research aims to develop an e-worksheet based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) to enhance students' critical thinking skills. Based on the validity test, e- worksheet with a valid PBL model is used for learning with an average material score of 4.53 and an average media score of 3.808. E-worksheets with the PBL model are said to be practical to use in the learning process based on an average student response of 4.134.

Abstract

Entering the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0, critical thinking skills are an important aspect of education, especially in learning mathematics. However, students' critical thinking skills in Indonesia are still low, including in the material of System of Linear Equations of Three Variables (SPLTV). One solution is the use of the (PBL) model supported by an interactive e-module. This study aims to develop and analyze the effectiveness of PBL-based e-modules in improving students' critical thinking skills. The research method used is the ADDIE model with the subject of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Tahunan. The validation results showed that the e-module was very valid, with an average score of 41.5 for media and 42.1 for material. The practicality test obtained a score of 78.2 (category "practical"), while the effectiveness test showed a significant increase (sig < 0.05) with an N-Gain score of 0.78 (high category). This proves that the PBL-based e-module is effective in improving students' critical thinking.
