Abstract

Cinnamon is one of the leading plantation commodities that is most widely exported among other types of plantation products. Since the 1990s, Cinnamon has been in demand not only by the domestic market but also the world market so that it has become a potential plantation export commodity for Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the comparative and competitive advantages of Indonesian cinnamon exports in the world market, as well as the development and projection of Indonesian cinnamon exports in the world market. The study was conducted from January to March 2022. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative method with a Secondary Data Analysis (SDA) approach. The type of data used in this study is secondary data in the form of a time series in the form of data on Indonesian cinnamon exports to the world market for the period 2011 - 2020 which comes from various sources. The data analysis method uses exponential trend analysis to answer the development of Indonesian cinnamon exports and projections in the world market, the Revealed Comparative Advantages (RCA) analysis to analyze the comparative advantages of Indonesian cinnamon exports, as well as the Export Product Dynamic (EPD) method and the Trade Specialization Index (ITS) are used to determine the competitive advantage and performance of a commodity. The results showed that the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon exports for export destination countries of the United States, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Brazil, and Thailand had a strong competitiveness, indicated by the RCA value of 19.82. Export Product Dynamic (EPD) that often appears during the period 2011 - 2020 in the five export destination countries is rising star, then retreat, falling star, and the least appearing is lost oppurtinity. The results of the ITS analysis with a positive value of 0.92 show that Indonesia has a tendency to be a net exporter country. Cinnamon exports to the world market in 2011-2020 had an increasing trend every year and are projected to increase for 2021-2025.

Abstract

Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) has its own importance when applied in agribusiness with vegetable commodities because it is included in the requirements for supply to modern markets and maintains competition with global markets. The implementation of this GAP comprehensively certainly has its own difficulties in the implementation process in an agricultural area or area. The approach of the GAP is implemented intensively, although not entirely from each agricultural area. The implementation of this study is intended to further enhance the principles of agriculture and gain understanding related to the extent to which workers or business actors in the agricultural sector gain an understanding of the implementation of GAP and the extent to which business entities implement GAP implementation, the reference of which is included in the regulation of the ministry of agriculture number 48/Permentan. /OT.140/4/2009 and the obstacles experienced by business entities in implementing GAP. The research method used in this research is a case study with descriptive analysis. The results of the research show that there are things that are not in harmony and problems in the process of implementing this GAP, where the average percentage that has been able to be done is only 81.84%. The constraints experienced by business entities include: 1) Lack of understanding related to the concept of GAP 2) Logo Prima as a guarantee of food quality does not yet exist, 3) Product results are oriented to domestic needs. The implementation of organic vegetable production using GAP at PT Tanikota still has to be maximized, especially in seeding, planting.

Abstract

One of the goals of national development is the achievement of national food security. The AUTP program is expected to be able to help rice farmers by making farmers independent, not only dependent on assistance programs so that the AUTP program is also able to achieve farmer independence. There are still many obstacles and problems in implementing AUTP, such as farmers who do not fully understand the benefits of the insurance program, limited human resources so that the possibility of socialization to farmers is not optimal. The purpose of this researcher is to formulate a strategy for developing the AUTP program in Kudus Regency. To formulate priority strategies in increasing the participation of the AUTP program in Kudus Regency. The analysis used includes SWOT and AHP by determining the respondents purposively. The results of the SWOT analysis research show that the SO strategy is to support aggressive and alternative growth, the priority strategy that must be implemented is cheap farmer premium facilities, so that it is not burdensome in terms of financial.

Abstract

The growing public interest in herbal beverages presents an opportunity for the Center for Agrotechnology Innovation of UGM (PIAT) to develop instant herbal beverage products. The PIAT-produced herbal drinks items Rosegar (rosella drink), Segar Ayu (wedang uwuh fresh drink), and Gilegrass (citronella ginger powder drink) all already have the Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) certificates. However, the three products have not yet achieved optimal sales, and it is necessary to evaluate the sustainability of production, sales, and prices of these products using a Break Even Point (BEP) analysis approach. Therefore, the goal of this study is to determine whether the BEP of the three products can be achieved. The analysis is performed for a single month of production in 2022. The study results show that the BEP for the production of Rosegar is 136 bottles, the BEP for sales is Rp. 1,364,385 at Rp. 4,586 and the BEP for the production of Segar Ayu and Rosella is 98 packs, the BEP for sales is Rp. 2,951,025 at Rp. 23,208. Overall, the price of PIAT’s herbal drink products is already higher than that of BEP, but production and sales remain low or non-optimal.

Abstract

Rubber is one of Indonesia's leading plantation commodities. The main problem in natural rubber development is the low productivity level of rubber land. Based on the total area, Indonesia has a larger area than Thailand, but the rubber productivity in Indonesia is lower. One of the ways to increase rubber farming production is through a stimulant exploitation system. This study aims to compare income and the revenue ratio of rubber farmers who use stimulants and non-stimulants in Tanjung Makmur Village, Pedamaran Timur Sub-District. Sampling was done using the proportionate stratified random sampling method. The total sample for the analysis tool was 50 farmers. The data were processed using descriptive statistics and mathematics analysis. Based on the results, it is known that the production yield and income of rubber farmers who use stimulants are higher than those of non-stimulants. The difference in production is 15.08 kg/ha/month, and the difference in income is Rp. 20,973.22 per hectare per month. A small difference in income is due to the higher production costs of stimulant rubber farmers, while the price received is lower than that of non-stimulants. Based on the calculation of the R/C ratio, it is known that the R/C ratio of non-stimulants farmers is higher than that of stimulant farmers.

Abstract

The cultural tourism program is one of the effective strategies for village development. This study examines the relationship between characteristics and community participation on the success of the dance tourism village program in Tanon hamlet, Ngrawan village, Getasan sub-district, Semarang district. Variables of community characteristics were measured by age, number of family members and education level, while the community participation variable is measured by decision-making participation, implementation, evaluation, and benefit-taking stages participation. The location of the research was carried out in Ngrawan Village, Getasan District. The location of the research location was chosen purposively on the basis of the consideration that the place is one of the villages where the Tourism Village program was successful. The analysis technique used in this research is Spearman rank correlation. The test results show that age (X1), number of family members (X2) and education level (X3) don’t have a significant relationship with the success of the tourism village program (Y), and the decision-making participation variable (X4), implementation (X5), evaluation stage (X6) and benefit taking participation (X7) have a significant relationship with the success of the tourism village program (Y).

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic appeared suddenly and caused a global crisis that threatens the food security of various countries. The economy was paralyzed, but this did not happen to the agricultural sector in Indonesia. This study aims to (1) examine the role of the agricultural sector during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, (2) analyze the level of investment efficiency in the growth of the agricultural sector before and during the Covid 19 pandemic crisis, and (3) formulate a policy solution for the agricultural sector facing the crisis. The research method uses Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) and descriptive methods. We are of the view that the agricultural sector has the resilience to face the Covid 19 crisis marked by positive growth, the second largest employment absorption, increased farmer exchange rates and exports. The performance of the agricultural sector was still efficient in the 2012-2019 range even though the ICOR value relatively rose and growth tended to decline. The agricultural sector faces food supply chain constraints, food loss and loss of added value. The triggers are long distribution chains, technology, high input costs, road and transportation infrastructure. The government and industry must support the provision of supporting infrastructure, namely technology, infrastructure, human resources and institutional strengthening. Diversification of food, industry 4.0, high-quality seeds and food supply chain as part of mitigation and adaptation needs to be supported by technology, human resources and strong institutions. The agricultural sector has proven to play a vital role in economic resilience.
