Abstract

The Meaning of the Reba Traditional Ceremony (Thanksgiving for the Harvest) for the Bajawa Community, Ngada Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province." The results of this research show that, (1) Reba is a ceremony of thanksgiving to ancestors which is carried out in the Bajawa community, especially Bobou village. Crops will fail and people will get various kinds of diseases. In carrying out the Reba ceremony in the Bajawa community, especially Bobou village. The values ​​and meanings contained in the traditional reba ceremony in the Bajawa community, especially in Bobou village, namely a). Historical meaning (history). b) The meaning of brotherhood. A). Social value, b). Cultural values, c). The value of fortitude and hope, d). magical value, e). Peace value, f). Moral values.

Abstract

Upaya meningkatkan minat belajar siswa melalui penerapan metode diskusi kelompok pada matapelajaran sejarah di kelas XI IPA SMA Sudirman Kupang. Metode diskusi merupakan metode pembelajaran berbentuk tukar menukar informasi, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil minat belajar  sebelum menerapkan metode diskusi kelompok proses penerapan metode diskusi dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dam efektifitas penerapan metode diskusi kelompok dalam pembelajaran  untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Hasil belajar siswa merupakan permasalahan yang menjadi fokus utama dalam penelitian untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan metode diskusi kelompok berdasarkan data observasi hasil belajar setelah dikenai tindakan adalah meningkat minat belajar siswa sudah meningkatkan karena merupakan perubahan, kemampuan dan keberhasilan seorang siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran dalam jenjang pendidikan dan terlihat berhasil meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dalam menggunakan metode diskusi, pada analisis ini ada tiga tahap untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar pada mata pelajaran sejarah sebelum dan setelah di ajarkan dengan menerapkan metode diskusi.

Abstract

The Sul A'tolo speech is one of the stages of marriage in the Nobi-nobi Village community, Amanuban Tengah District, South Central Timor Regency, where the man's family sends someone to deliver the sul a 'tolo in the form of a package containing jewelry as a sign of engagement to the desired woman. The problem in this study is how the meaning of the sul a'tolo' speech is in the marriage of the Nobi-Nobi Village community, Amanuban Tengah District, South Central Timor Regency. The purpose of this study is to describe the meaning of the sul a 'tolo' speech in the marriage of the Nobi-Nobi Village community, Amanuban Tengah District, South Central Timor Regency. The theory used is the theory of cultural linguistics. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. In data collection, the researcher used observation, interview, listening, recording and documentation techniques. Based on the results of data analysis, the meaning found in the sul a 'tolo speech is as follows: (1) The meaning of requests and hopes, (2) The meaning of respect and ethics (3) Symbolic and metaphorical meaning, and (4) The meaning of love framed by custom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of reading literacy through the application of contextual reading methods in class X1 students of SMA Negeri 2 Kota Kupang in the 2024/2025 academic year. This type of research uses classroom action research (PTK), by going through several stages, namely: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class X1 SMA Negeri 2 Kota Kupang. Data were collected using observation, test and documentation techniques. The results of this study showed that out of 30 students in Cycle I and Cycle II that the application of contextual reading methods can improve students' reading literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of students' perception of information services on the adjustment of seventh-grade students at SMP Kristen 1 Amanuban Timur. The research used a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis method. The population consisted of all 95 seventh-grade students. The instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed a significant influence of perception of information services on students' adjustment, with a contribution of 13.1%, while 86.9% was influenced by other factors beyond this study. The ANOVA test yielded an F-value of 13.987, which was greater than the F-table value of 3.943 (α = 0.05), indicating a positive and significant effect between the two variables. These findings suggest that a positive perception of information services can help improve students' ability to adapt to the school environment.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the Form, Meaning and Function of the Natoik Ritual of the Rote Community in Dalek Esa Village and to find out the Description of the Form, Meaning and Function of the Natoik Ritual of the Rote Community in Dalek Esa Village, District, Southwest Rote, Rote Ndao Regency. The benefits of this research can add insight and knowledge, research on the Form, Meaning and Function of the Rote Community Natoik Ritual in Dalek Esa Village, District, Southwest Rote, Rote Ndao Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The theory used is cultural linguistic theory. The results show that the implementation of the Natoik ritual is divided into three parts, namely, (1) initial ritual preparation; (2) ritual implementation; and (3) closing. While the meaning contained in the Natoik ritual is as follows: (1) Farewell meaning; (2) Consolation meaning; (3) Religious meaning, and (4) Spiritual meaning. The function of the Natoik ritual consists of 3 parts, namely (1) Poetic function; and (3) Directive function.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the Thesis entitled "Loan Words in the Dawan Language (Uab Meto) in the Nano Community, Kualin District, South Central Timor Regency. The problem in this study is what are the loan words in the Dawan language (Uab Meto). The purpose of this study is to find out the loan words in the Dawan language (Uab Meto). The benefits of this study are to expand the author's knowledge about loan words in the Dawan language. The theory used in this study is the theory of structural linguistics. Where the study or analysis of language must be descriptive, language has its own rules. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results of this study, several loan words were found in the Dawan language, namely 1. Direct loan words in the Dawan language such as the words forok, and oto; 2. loan words that change in the Dawan language such as the words klas, bol, anin, sulat, kofi, tasu botil, lok, fatu, loko, lelken, beskoet, mistal, los, and kuk; 3. Slang loan words in the language dawan such as the words bestie, kulot, krop, and kibol 4. loan words in the dawan language such as the words skol, nalkoba, covid-19, hp, pupuk, lokte and lesa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Ability to Write Argumentative Texts of Class VII A Students of State Junior High School (SMP) 1 Amanuban Tengah, The problem to be solved in this study is how the ability to write argumentative texts in class VII A students of SMPN 1 Amanuban Tengah. With the objective to be achieved in this study is to describe the ability to write argumentative texts in class VII A students of SMPN 1 Amanuban Tengah. The method used is descriptive quantitative, qualitative, namely a research mechanism in the form of numbers in the assessment process is arranged carefully and systematically starting from collecting data to interpreting and reporting the results of the study. The results of the study on the ability to write argumentative texts in class VII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Amanuban Tengah show that out of 32 students. very capable consisting of 4 students, capable consisting of 22 students, quite capable consisting of 6 students, and less capable none. The ability to write argumentative texts in class VII A students of SMP Negeri 1 Amanuban Tengah with an average score of 72.87 in the capable category. Thus, educators in learning to write argumentative texts in order to achieve learning outcomes in accordance with the predetermined KKM.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the implementation of career counseling services for school dropout adolescents in the Tuapakas Village community, Kualin District, South Central Timor (TTS) Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with observation and interview techniques. The research was conducted in Tuapakas Village, involving 8 participants, consisting of 1 guidance and counseling teacher and 7 adolescents who have dropped out of school. The findings reveal that school dropout is caused by various factors, including economic conditions, household responsibilities, early marriage, and feelings of boredom or pressure at school. These results are in line with the Ecological Systems Theory by Bronfenbrenner, updated by Narayan (2016), which states that individual development is heavily influenced by surrounding systems such as family, local economy, community culture, and access to public services. For instance, one respondent dropped out of school due to economic hardship and chose to work on a farm, illustrating how the microsystem (family) and mesosystem (village environment) influence educational continuity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study how the Educaplay game-based learning media is applied in tahsin learning in elementary schools. The ADDIE model's research and development (R&D) methods are used in this study, and involve steps such as analysis, design, development, application, and evaluation. This study produces interactive and effective learning media. The results of the study show that using Educaplay can increase students' interest, activeness, and learning outcomes, especially in understanding the recitation of the Qur'an and basic tahsin materials. Additionally, teachers who receive training and technical support can use these mediums successfully, which makes learning more fun, interactive, and supports students' independent learning. In addition, this study shows that game-based learning media has the ability to overcome boredom caused by conventional approaches and can also significantly increase students' motivation to learn. Positive impact on students, this study shows that teachers must be prepared to manage game-based learning, including learning process management and technical abilities.
