Abstract

An individual’s personality influences flourishing. Therefore, this study purposed to determine the influence of personality traits on the flourishing of final-year students. This data was collected using the PERMA-Profiler and Big Five Inventory. This study was a quantitative study with a non-experimental research design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling on 300 final-year students. The data analysis method was multiple linear regression techniques assisted by the Jamovi 2.3.18. The findings showed that the significant five personality effect flourished by R2 = 32,2%. In addition, it was found that agreeableness was the most influential variable in the flourishing of final-year students, followed by conscientiousness and extraversion. On the other hand, this study confirmed that openness and neuroticism had no significant effect on flourishing. The results contributed to interventions from the university to pay attention to agreeableness, conscientiousness, and extraversion to develop flourishing in final-year students.

Abstract

Alcoholic beverages are all types of drinks that contain ethanol (C2H5OH). Consumption of alcohol hurts the health and psychological health of the drinker, even the impact of environmental damage. Alcoholic beverages among youth are increasing along with the development of information and ease of transportation. Ease of access to alcoholic beverages is thought to be one of the factors increasing consumption of alcoholic beverages in youth. According to the KPAI, supervision of the circulation of alcoholic beverages is still weak, so young people who are not old enough can access these drinks. The study aimed to determine how much influence the availability of alcoholic beverages had on the drinking habits of junior and senior high school youth in Kelurahan A in Merauke Regency. The research method used was Correlative Descriptive Research on junior high and high school youth in Kelurahan A in Merauke Regency. The results of this study indicate that based on the results of bivariate analysis using the results of the chi-square (x²) statistical test, with a CI = 95% (α = 5%), a value of p = 0.000 is obtained. This suggests that the availability of alcoholic beverages affects the drinking habits of junior and senior high school youth in Kelurahan A in Merauke Regency because it has a p-value <0.05. The results of the linear regression analysis test showed that the variable that had the most influence on the habit of drinking alcoholic beverages in junior high and high school youth was the availability of alcohol because it had the highest odds ratio of 2.184. This means that the availability of alcohol has a probability of 2.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of traditional engklek and puzzle games on the social-emotional abilities of early childhood in Kindergarten IT DOD Medan. This type of quantitative descriptive research uses a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest experimental control group design. The population in the study were all students at TK IT DOD Medan, totaling 55 students with a sample of 43 students. Each was divided into three groups—data collection methods using observation and emotional social checklist sheets for early childhood with a scale rating scale. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, the following research results were obtained: a) the traditional crank game has an effect on the development of social-emotional abilities of early childhood in Kindergarten IT DODO Medan with an N-Gain Score of 0.5921, b) puzzle games have an influence on the development of abilities social-emotional early childhood in Kindergarten IT DOD Medan with N-Gain Score o.6219, c) Then there is the effect of differences in traditional crank games and puzzle games on social-emotional abilities of early childhood in Kindergarten IT DOD Medan with an N-Gain Score difference of 0.0298. So it can be seen from crank and puzzle games that puzzle games are more influential in improving early childhood social-emotional abilities in Kindergarten DOD Medan.

Abstract

The advancement of the nation is determined by human capital quality, one of which is basic literacy (reading). The ability to read is one of the important skills that children must learn during the first years of elementary school (Mujis & Reynolds, 2008). Nevertheless, the problem of reading development has yet become a problem in various area in Indonesia. This study uses an experiment method with single subject research design. The aim of the study was to develop and determine the effectiveness of the phonic intervention model for elementary school students who have difficulty reading and writing. The phonic intervention model in this study was developed based on an assessment of the participants. The intervention was composed of a series of structured verbal instructions propped with reading aids. The results showed that the phonic intervention could improve children's reading skills if applied consistently. The interventions that supported by conducive environment can effectively help the development of reading skills in elementary school students.

Abstract

Adolescence contributes to the formation of personality in a person. Violence against adolescents is also a national problem in Indonesia today. Actions carried out by adolescents who are also students refer to impulsive behavior, shallow feelings, recklessness, as well as superiority and hostility which refer to the dark triad of personality. One of the factors that influence the dark triad of personality is emotional intelligence. Another factor that influences the dark triad of personality is the environment. Family is one of the environmental conditions that can contribute to the formation of one's personality so that bonding from parents contributes to adolescent behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and parental bonding to the dark triad of personality in students at X High School in the city of Semarang. This research method uses a correlational quantitative approach with a total of 352 participants. The measuring instruments used in this study were the short dark triad (SD3), the parental bonding instrument (PBI), and the Schutte Emotional Intelligence Scale (SEIS). The analysis carried out in this study used multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 26. The results in this study found that there was an effect of the variables of emotional intelligence and parental bonding simultaneously on the dark triad of personality in X High School students in the city of Semarang.

Abstract

The study uses Germer's theory to discover the self-acceptance experienced by women who become pregnant out of wedlock. The research design selects qualitative descriptive studies. The subjects used were three informants, and the object of the researcher was a woman who experienced pregnancy out of wedlock. Data were collected through semistructured interviews conducted by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that in the three subjects through self-acceptance of Germer's theory, the stages of self-acceptance that were passed were; First, Evasion. At this stage, in three of the two clients, some do avoidance because they feel afraid of their parents. And one of those clients did not evade because he considered it a waste of time. The second is curiosity. At this stage, one in three clients has found out about her pregnancy because she wants to see her parents' sensitivity to the complications she has experienced, such as nausea. Meanwhile, two clients never learned about his condition because he thought it would add pressure to them—subsequent third tolerance. Here the three clients appreciate the health they experience by maintaining their respective contents. Then fourth, allowing. At this stage, the client can feel unencumbered about people's ridicule or ridicule of their situation by not listening too much, as it will be detrimental to them. And lastly, friendship. At this stage, the client can receive the condition because of the support of the spouse, family, and friends, so the three subjects can accept their situation as a whole.

Abstract

A couple's feelings of participation in various facets of their unique married life are referred to as their marital pleasure. Communication is one of the variables that might influence marital satisfaction; husband and wife need to have the confidence to express feelings and opinions in an open, honest manner, which is referred to as assertiveness. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how assertiveness and marital satisfaction relate to working men and spouses. Quantitative study with a correlational design was used. The incidental sampling method was utilized in this study, which had 202 participants in total. The Rathus Assertiveness Scale (RAS) and the ENRICH Marital Satisfaction (EMS) Measure were employed as the research measuring tools (both scores of 0.893 and 0.814). Spearman's rank correlation was the analysis method employed, and the analysis's findings showed a correlation coefficient of 0.443.According to the findings, assertiveness and marital satisfaction are significantly positively correlated in working husbands and spouses. Couples that have the guts to communicate their wants and opinions honestly, strongly, and with respect rather than by being combative or defensive will typically report higher levels of marital satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of playmat games on the motor skills of mild mentally disabled children at SLB-C YPAC Palembang. The data source in the form of primary data was obtained from the playmat game scale and motor skills. The sample in this study was mentally disabled children aged 10 to 14 years who were still active at SLB-C YPAC Palembang, totalling 11 people. Data analysis used quantitative analysis using one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the hypothesis test ( paired sample t-test), the average pretest motor skill score was 46.33. As for the posttest score, the average value of motor skills is 68.00, and the probability value is sig. (2-tailed)=0.000 then p < 0.05, p < 0.01. data: So, there is a difference between motor skills in the pretest and posttest, which means that the playmat significantly influences motor skills in mentally disabled children aged ten to fourteen years at SLB-C YPAC Palembang. There are playmat activities; children become more active and excited. Playmats are effective for attracting children's attention in learning and improving motor skills because they are considered interesting and easy to do. They can arouse enthusiasm for learning to achieve targeted indicators of fine and gross motor achievement for children.

Abstract

The transition to parenthood has proven to be challenging and stressful for most couples. The COVID-19 pandemic has created even more hardships, creating the potential for increased parental stress and can significantly reduce marital satisfaction. It is known that parents' coping methods can affect the level of perceived stress and marital satisfaction. This study aims to examine the buffering effect of supportive dyadic coping in reducing the impact of parental stress on marital satisfaction in the transition to becoming new parents. To test the hypothesis, we conducted a study using the Parental Stress Scale (PSS), Dyadic Coping Inventory (DCI), and Couple Satisfaction Index (CSI). In Indonesia, we collected data from 112 new parents (N mothers = 90%, M age = 27.9, SD age = 2.8). The dimension of emotion-focused supportive DC was found to be significant in moderating the role of parental stress on marital satisfaction F(1, 111) = 11.21, p<0.005. In contrast, problem-focused supportive dyadic coping F(1, 111) = 26.39, p> .005 was found not to be significant in reducing the impact of parental stress on marital satisfaction. The researcher found that parental stress F(1.112) = -2.964, p<.05, significantly predicts marital satisfaction regardless of the level of supportive dyadic coping. In addition, we found that there was a direct effect of emotion-focused supportive dyadic coping on marital satisfaction with a value of β = 6.04, 95% BCa CI [2.52, 9.55], p<0.01 and a direct effect of problem-focused supportive dyadic coping with β = 6.24, 95% BCa CI [1.81, 10.66], p<0.05. The results show that in the transition to parenthood, couples must consider the importance of supportive dyadic coping to maintain marital satisfaction.

Abstract

This Study Was Conducted To Examine The Role Of Interpersonal Communication Between Parents And Children On Bullying Behavior In Students. The Research Method Used In This Study Is A Quantitative Approach. The Object Of Research Focuses On A Sample Of 51 Students And Uses Saturation Sampling Techniques. This Research Instrument Uses An Adaptation Scale With A Likert Model On Interpersonal Communication Between Parents And Children, Bullying Behavior. The Interpersonal Communication Scale Was Obtained From Issom & Damayanti With Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Of 0.964. The Bullying Behavior Scale Was Obtained From Putra With Cronbach's Alpha Reliability Of 0.891. Next, Data Analysis In This Research Uses Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. Research Results Conclude That There Is A Negative Relationship Between Interpersonal Communication Of Parents And Children With Bullying Behavior At Sm Muhammadiyah 4 Porong With A Value Of R = -0.395 With A Significance Value Of 0.004 (P < 0.05). Interpersonal Communication Between Parents And Children Contributes 15.6% To Bullying Behavior. So It Can Be Concluded That Interpersonal Communication Between Parents And Children Makes A Considerable Contribution In Influencing Bullying Behavior.
