Abstract

The reliability of transformer insulation is a crucial factor in preventing damage that can lead to fatal accidents and serious disruptions in electrical systems. Aging insulation can cause performance degradation in transformers, necessitating a comprehensive evaluation to detect potential damage at an early stage. This research aims to evaluate the condition of transformer insulation using several testing methods, namely Breakdown Voltage (BDV) and Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA). Among these methods, DGA is the main focus due to its ability to detect internal disturbances early, such as heat release, arcing, and overheating. Dissolved gas analysis in insulating oil provides critical information to detect anomalies, allowing preventive measures to be taken before the damage becomes more severe. In this study, testing data from both BDV and DGA methods were obtained through experiments and observations on transformers that have been in operation for a certain period. The obtained data were thoroughly analyzed and compared with international standards, such as IEEE and IEC, to identify potential failures, such as insulation degradation, overheating, or abnormal energy release. The analysis results show that combining several testing methods, particularly DGA, can provide accurate results in detecting potential damage at an early stage. This research makes an important contribution to transformer management, especially in the implementation of predictive maintenance, to enhance the safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of transformers.

Abstract

This paper examines the theme of perseverance in the animated film Kung Fu Panda (2008), focusing on the journey of the protagonist, Po, as an embodiment of resilience and determination. The story follows Po, an overweight and unskilled panda, who dreams of becoming a kung fu master. Po is unexpectedly chosen as the Dragon Warrior, tasked with protecting the Valley of Peace. Through hard work, belief in himself, and overcoming self-doubt, Po demonstrates that perseverance, rather than natural talent, is the key to success. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Po’s character arc reflects the importance of perseverance in overcoming adversity and achieving personal growth. The research adopts a narrative analysis approach, focusing on Po’s interactions with other characters throughout the film. This paper explores how Po’s perseverant journey aligns with Albert Bandura’s concept of self-efficacy, where persistence, belief in one’s abilities, and overcoming negative feedback led to eventual success. The analysis reveals that Po’s perseverance is key not only to his success as the Dragon Warrior but also to his self-acceptance and personal fulfilment. The conclusion highlights how the film serves as an inspirational narrative, teaching audiences that persistence and belief in oneself are vital components of achieving greatness, regardless of one’s initial circumstances.

Abstract

This article investigates how the plot twist in Lloyd F. Loux’s A Clever Catch is done through foreshadowing. The action of foreshadowing is to introduce subconscious clues to the audience without spoiling the result. Loux’s story is about a man who has an obsession with a thief woman and intends to catch her. At last, he succeeds in catching the thief and brings her before the magistrate, but then the magistrate does not punish her but gives best wishes to both of them. Through qualitative method and explorative approach, this paper underlines that the plot twist is preceded by the senses of law, starting from the thief, the accusation, the man as the detective, and the magistrate. At last, the punishment is not severe, but happy since all of the symbols eventually indicate a man who goes after a woman he loves. In conclusion, the foreshadowing in Loux’s story brings suspense and anxiety to the audience which then later presents a grateful happy ending as the plot twist.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of land size on the income of rice farmers in SP9 Jabamaru Village, Tanah Miring District, Merauke Regency. The research is motivated by the significant role of agriculture in Indonesia's economy, especially in areas where most residents are farmers. Land size is one of the critical factors influencing the success of farming activities, as it affects production capacity and directly impacts farmers' income. This quantitative research uses a survey method involving 53 rice farmers as a sample from a total population of 214 farmers. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with IBM SPSS version 25. The results show that land size has a positive and significant effect on farmers' income. The regression coefficient of 9,585,807.223 indicates that each additional hectare of land significantly increases income. A significance value of 0.000 (smaller than 0.05) and a t-statistic of 16.262 (greater than t-table 1.675) support this result. Therefore, the hypothesis that land size affects farmers' income is accepted. The study recommends that farmers improve land management efficiency and optimize land use to enhance their income levels.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of citizen participation in disaster mitigation efforts in Serang City, Indonesia, a region frequently affected by hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and strong winds. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, the research was conducted through field studies involving residents in disaster-prone areas and the local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). Data were collected via observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using an interactive model consisting of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that while public awareness of disaster risks is relatively high, actual participation remains sporadic and reactive. Factors such as limited disaster literacy, economic pressures, and unequal access to information hinder active involvement. Government programs aimed at promoting preparedness—such as simulations, training, and the creation of disaster-resilient villages—have been implemented but are often centralized and lack follow-up. The study finds that strengthening community-based mitigation efforts requires a shift toward more inclusive and continuous engagement strategies that integrate both structural and non-structural approaches. Enhancing institutional coordination, ensuring equitable access, and building local capacity are identified as critical elements in fostering a more proactive and resilient community.
