Abstract

This study aims to determine how the effect of the growth of black soybean plants (Glycine max L.) with a verticulture system. This research was conducted on Jl. Ekarasmi Gg. Ekanusa III Kec. Medan Johor, Medan City, from September to November 2022. This study used a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) consisting of one treatment factor with 3 levels and 6 repetitions, namely: M1 = 2 kg soil, M2 = 2: 1 (2 kg soil + 1 kg rice husk), and M3 = 2:1 (2 kg soil + 1 kg cocopeat). This research was designed by doing 6 repetitions. The parameters used in this study were plant height, leaf area index, total and total chlorophyll a b content, relative growth rate, N uptake, and number of root nodules. The results of this study were that the planting medium had a significant effect on almost every parameter but the planting medium had no significant effect on one parameter, namely N nutrient uptake, with levels of M1 and M3. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of planting media to the vegetative growth of black soybeans has an influence on the vegetative growth of black soybeans on almost all parameters, but on the parameters of nutrient absorption, black soybeans have no real effect with planting horticulture systems.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the types of bacteria that are able to fix nitrogen and dissolve phosphate in liquid rubber waste in Perdamean Village, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research method used is the description method with bacterial isolation techniques, and then tests are carried out, namely testing the ability of nitrogen fixation and testing the ability of phosphate solubilizers. The results showed that bacterial isolates capable of fixing nitrogen were found to have high absorbance values, namely 1,340 ABS. In the phosphate solubilizing ability test, there were 2 isolates that were unable to dissolve phosphate. In conclusion, isolating nitrogen and phosphate fixation bacteria from liquid rubber waste is a way to prevent pollution and the destruction of existing ecosystems in the environment. Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the verticulture system and spacing on the vegetative growth of two cultivars of black soybean (Gylcine max L.). This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two treatment factors and 4 replications, namely F1= cultivar (P) consisting of two levels, namely P1= soybean cultivar Detam 1 and P2 = soybean cultivar Detam 4 Prida. F2= plant spacing consists of two levels, namely J1= 20 x 10 cm and J2= 20 x 20 cm. The parameters used were plant height, leaf area index, chlorophyll a, b and total content, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, and number of root nodules. The results obtained from this study plant spacing had a significant effect on several parameters with the best level, namely J2= 20 x 20 cm and soybean cultivars with P1= detam 1 level had a significant effect on plant height parameters. But the plant spacing and the two soybean cultivars (Gylcine max L.) did not have any interaction in each parameter. It can be concluded that the regulation of planting distances and two soybean cultivars has a significant effect on several parameters such as plant height, chlorophyll content tests a, b and total as well as measuring relative growth rates. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of degrading bacteria in the Simangalam river containing palm oil wastewater in Gunung Melayu Village, North Labuhanbatu Regency. This research was conducted using a survey method on the presence of bacteria and the characteristics of bacterial isolates degrading palm oil industrial wastewater and the data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that only HB1ST1 and HB2ST2 were circular, while HB3ST2, HB4ST2, HB5ST2, and H62ST2 were irregular. After gram staining, three gram-positive bacterial isolates (HB1ST1, HB4ST2, and HB6ST2) and three gram-negative bacterial isolates (HB2ST2, HB3ST2, and HB5ST2) were obtained. The HB1ST1 isolate motility test showed negative results, while the other five isolates (HB2ST2, HB3ST2, HB4ST2, HB5ST2, and HB6ST2) showed positive results. The conclusion of this study is that there are 6 bacterial isolates that are able to degrade oil palm liquid waste in the Simangalam River from 2 samples of oil palm liquid waste. Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical and chemical factors that contribute to the diversity of macrozoobentos in the Aekburu River, NA XI-X District, and North Labuhan Batu Regency. A descriptive approach was used to study the diversity of macrozoobentos in the Aek Buru River, Batu Tunggal Village, NA IX-X District, North Labuhan Batu Regency, and North Sumatra. The results showed that macrozoobenthic species were found in the Aek Buru River, with 15 species of the phylum Mollusca, and the highest relative abundance value was in the species Nerita albicilla at Station 1, with a percentage of 7.447%. From this study, it can be concluded that the abundance of macrozoobentos, diversity index, uniformity index, and dominance index are the types of macrozoobentos found.

Abstract

This study aims to provide light on various aspects of education, including student activities and critical thinking, as well as the implementation of PQ4R learning methodologies. True Experiment study is conducted using a quantitative research methodology. A control group with a pretest-posttest design was used in the study. Probability sampling is a technique used in sampling that allows for population analysis. Class X SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya was the random sequence used to choose the sample using the lottery method. Written tests and observations served as the data collection methods. Descriptive and statistical T-tests were used in data analysis. The study's findings indicate that there are two categories for how well learning is implemented: fairly good and extremely good. This study demonstrated that learning strategies had an impact on students' critical thinking skills by using statistical tests with a significant level of 0.05 and a significant value of 0.00 to show that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. According to data on student learning activities, the first meeting scored an average of 81.8, which is in the "very good" category. Therefore 66.9 is generally considered to be "good." The second meeting qualified as "very good" with an average score of 92.5. According to the research, the implementation of learning management utilizing the PQ4R technique along with the Quiz Team model on critical thinking abilities and student activities at Meeting 1 and Meeting 2 fell into the Pretty Good and Very Good categories, respectively. Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of spacing and cultivars for the growth of black soybean plants with an intercropping system (Gylcine max L.). This research method used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factorials and 4 replications. Factor I (K) cultivars were K1 = detam 2 soybean cultivar and K2 = detam 4 soybean cultivar. The interval (J) consisted of three levels: J1 = 10 x 20 cm, J2 = 15 x 20 cm, J3 = 20 x 20 cm . The observed variables were plant height, leaf area index, root nodules, relative growth rate (LPR), chlorophyll content, and net assimilation rate (LAB). The results showed that treatment with K2 (detam 4) had a significant effect on plant height 14.28 HST, relative growth rate, chlorophyll a, b and total. The treatment of J1 spacing (10 x 20 cm) had a significant effect on 14 DAP height and leaf area index. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the intercropping system and black soybean cultivar had a significant effect on plant height, relative growth rate, chlorophyll a, b, total, and leaf area index. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to be able to explain how growing media and spacing affect purple eggplant's vegetative growth responses. In this investigation, two treatments with six replications each were employed in a randomized block design (RBD). F1: J1 = 30 x 40 cm and D2 = 50 x 60 cm are the two levels of spacing. F2: There are two levels for using planting media: M1 = soil + sand 2: 1 and M2 = soil + cocopeat 2: 1. Plant height measurements, tests for the chlorophyll a and b leaf area indices, and relative growth rates as well as total and net assimilation rates were the variables employed in this study. The study's findings recommend using planting media with the best level of M2 = soil + cocopeat for plant height criteria. The ideal level for spacing the parameters for the chlorophyll test and the rate of net assimilation is J2 50 x 60 cm. According to the research, the planting medium and spacing, particularly on the variables of plant height, chlorophyll test, and net assimilation rate, have a substantial impact on the vegetative growth of purple eggplant.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an e-booklet, namely the Lemea Lebong electronic booklet as a learning medium for biotechnology material. This research method is research and development. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, interview guides and observation. The research instruments were observation sheets, needs analysis questionnaire sheets, teacher interview guides, student readability test questionnaires and expert validation sheets. Data analysis techniques are descriptive and quantitative analysis. The results showed that the Lemea Lebong e-booklet as a learning media for biotechnology materials for students was very feasible to use based on the results of the validation test. Student responses to the readability of the Lemea Lebong e-booklet as a medium for learning biotechnology material for students showed a very good category. In conclusion, the Lemea Lebong e-booklet as a learning medium for biotechnology material is suitable for science learning on biotechnology material. Keywords: E-booklet, Lebong, Lemea

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the types, diversity, and distribution patterns of herbaceous plants based on variations in height. The method used is the survey method with the squared plot technique by purposive sampling at two heights of 1,009 masl and 1,144 masl with a plot size of 5 x 5 meters. The results showed that the herbaceous plants found at an altitude of 1,009 meters above sea level, namely 22 species with 14 families, the most species at an altitude of 1,009 meters above sea level were Impatiens sp., while the herbaceous plants found at an altitude of 1,144 meters above sea level, namely 15 species with 9 families, the most species at an altitude of 1,144 meters above sea level, namely Selaginella subalpine Aldrew. The diversity of herbaceous plants seen from the IVI value. The IVI value obtained at an altitude of 1,009 masl is found in Taenitis blechnoides Sw. of 36.268. At an altitude of 1,144 masl there is the highest IVI value, namely Selaginella subalpina Aldrew. of 48,400. The diversity index at an altitude of 1,009 masl was 2.313 while the diversity index at an altitude of 1,144 masl was 2,200. From the diversity index data for herbaceous plants, the diversity index was moderate. The distribution pattern of plants at an altitude of 1,009 masl is 2.66 and the pattern of distribution of herbaceous plants at an altitude of 1,114 masl is 2.89. The conclusion of the research is that the diversity of herbaceous plants in Batang Gadis Resort 6 National Park is classified as moderate, while the distribution of herbaceous plants found in Batang Gadis Resort 6 National Park is in groups.
