An understanding of Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) cognitive styles is important for teachers because these two styles affect the way students understand and process information, which ultimately has an impact on the effectiveness of learning. This study aimed to build a decision tree model to map the cognitive style of students based on errors that students make in solving algebra problems according to Newman's error theory. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach with the ID3 algorithm in decision tree modeling. The instruments used include the GEFT test to identify students' cognitive style and the basic algebra ability test containing 6 aspects of algebra ability according to Lew, i.e. generalization, abstraction, analytical thinking, dynamic thinking, modeling, and organization. The decision tree model was built based on the errors made by students according to Newman's error theory. The results showed that the decision tree generated from algebra problems in the generalization aspect had an accuracy of 82.5%. This decision tree has a main attribute in the form of process skill errors, which can map the cognitive style of students as FI or FD. This decision tree formed three implication rules, which became the basis for classifying the cognitive style of students. This finding was expected to be a guide for teachers in designing a more adaptive and efficient learning strategy with an approach that is on the cognitive style of students to improve students' algebraic thinking ability. This study aims to test the influence of the ethnomathematical approach based on the geometry of the Maimun Palace architecture on the understanding of the sine and cosine rules of class X students in MAN 2 Model Medan. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group; that is, the experimental group is taught using an ethnomathematical approach, while the control group uses conventional learning. The results showed that the independent sample t-test produced a significance value (p < 0.01), which means that there was an influence of the ethnomathematical approach based on the geometry of the Maimun Palace architecture on the understanding of the rules of sine and cosine in students. The n-gain value test of the experimental group obtained 0.85, included in the high category, while the control group 0.65 belonged to the medium category. The conclusion of the study was obtained that ethnomathematical approaches based on local culture, such as the architecture of the Maimun Palace, are not only effective in improving students' understanding of mathematical concepts but also enriching the learning experience based on local cultural wisdom. This study aims to obtain a description of the mathematical representation of grade VIII students of SMPN Model Terpadu Madani in solving comparative story problems in terms of gender. This type of research is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study were 2 students of SMPN Model Terpadu Madani, namely 1 male student and 1 female student. Data collection techniques used in this study include written tests and interviews. The results of the study showed that male and female students used indicators of mathematical representation, namely verbal representation, symbolic representation, and visual representation when solving comparative story problems. The verbal representation of male and female students was able to write down the steps to solve mathematical problems according to the indicators. The symbolic representation used by male and female students was able to write equations, mathematical models, mathematical operations and solve problems involving mathematical expressions. The conclusion is that male and female students generally use visual representation, but there are differences between male and female students. Male students only use pictures to clarify while female students use pictures and tables to clarify and facilitate problem solving. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing a problem-based learning model assisted by video learning media on the mathematical reasoning abilities of class VIII students of MTS PP Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hajoran. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the study involved 64 students, with class VIII A as the experimental class using a problem-based learning model, and class VIII B as the control class. Data were collected through a mathematical reasoning ability test and analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed a significance value (Sig.) of 0.000, which is smaller than the significance level of α = 0.05. This shows that there is a significant difference in students' mathematical reasoning abilities between the experimental class and the control class, so that the problem-based learning model assisted by video media has proven effective in improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This study aims to examine the effect of the Team Quiz method on student learning motivation in mathematics subjects in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Poso Pesisir Utara. This research design uses a quasiexperiment method consisting of two groups, namely the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class was class VIII B consisting of 26 students and the control class was class VIII A consisting of 28 students. Data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire consisting of 30 statement items, which were used as pretest and posttest questionnaires in the Experimental class and posttest questionnaires in the control class. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and non-parametric statistical techniques, specifically the Mann-Whitney test as hypothesis data analysis. Hypothesis testing using the Mann-Whitney test showed a significance value (Asymp. Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000, which is smaller than 0.05. This indicates a significant difference in student learning motivation before and after the application of the Team Quiz method. Thus, it can be concluded that the Team Quiz method has an effect in increasing student learning motivation in mathematics learning in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Poso Pesisir Utara. This study aims to describe student problem solving based on the level of student learning independence. The method used is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of the study were three students of grade IX D SMPN 7 Palu, who were selected using a learning independence questionnaire, with high, medium, and low categories. The problem-solving indicators used are indicators developed by polya, namely, understanding the problem, making a problem-solving plan, implementing the problem-solving plan, and re-checking. The results showed that subjects with high and medium independence were better at meeting each problem-solving indicator compared to low subjects. So it can be concluded that the higher the learning independence of students, the better the problem solving will be. Keywords: Congruence; Learning Independence; Solution to problem

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' creative thinking skills in understanding linear equations. The method used is quantitative research with an experimental approach and descriptive analysis. The population consists of all seventh-grade students at SMPN 17 Bengkulu Utara, with a sample divided into two groups: VIIA as the experimental group with 22 students and VIIB as the control group with 23 students. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 22, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests. The results show a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a significance level (sig. (2-tailed)) of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H₁) is accepted. After implementing problem-based learning, students in the experimental group demonstrated better creative thinking skills than those in the control group. In conclusion, problem-based learning positively influences students' creative thinking skills in understanding linear equations. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by Quizizz. This research was carried out as many as II cycles, by following the predetermined stages. This research method leads to the steps of classroom action research (PTK) with a qualitative approach. The results showed that from cycle I to cycle II showed an increase in student learning completeness in learning addition & subtraction operations for numbers using the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by Quizizz, namely in cycle I by 40% and in cycle II by 78%. Given the determination of the success indicator has been achieved in cycle II with an average student score of 78%, learning mathematics using the TGT type cooperative learning model assisted by quizizz can be declared successful. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model assisted by the quizizz application can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence and how the ability to use the photomath application has on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This research is a quantitative research carried out at DWI SATYA Middle School with a pretest-posttest only one group design. The sample for this research was taken using a total sampling method of 15 students. This research instrument is a test of problem solving abilities in the form of a pretest and posttest. Furthermore, this research data was analyzed using a paired sample t-test after analyzing descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The research results showed that the average pretest score for students who studied using the Photomath application was 36 and the posttest was 66 from the ideal score of 75. There was an increase of 30, which means there was an influence of using the Photomath application on students' mathematics learning with an N Gain score of 0.78 in the high category. Simultaneously, there is a significant influence of learning using the photomath application on students' mathematical problem solving abilities where a sig value of 0.000 is obtained which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. This study aims to describe the literacy and numeracy abilities of class VIII students at SMPN 02 Darmpelas in terms of low, medium and high mathematics anxiety. The method used is a qualitative descriptive method with instruments in the form of mathematics anxiety questionnaires, tests and interviews. The results showed that subjects who had low math anxiety were able to meet 3 numeracy literacy indicators, subjects who had moderate math anxiety were able to meet 2 of the 3 numeracy literacy indicators, and subjects who had high math anxiety were only able to meet 1 of the 3 numeracy literacy indicators. In conclusion, for the category of students with moderate mathematics anxiety, attention needs to be paid to writing down known and asked data in detail and clearly, while for students with high mathematics anxiety, students need intensive guidance from the teacher to understand the methods used in planning problem solving and also in drawing conclusions to obtain correct and appropriate answers.
