Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Perbedaan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scramble dan Make A Match; 2) Perbedaan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scramble dan Make A Match; 3) Perbedaan kemampuan koneksi dan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scramble dan Make A Match.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MAS Sirajul Huda Tigabinanga yang berjumlah 60 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan oleh peneliti sampling jenuh, yaitu kelas XI A dan XI B yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa untuk dijadikan kelas eksperimen I dan eksperimen II.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen kemampuan koneksi matematis dan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis varian (ANAVA). Hasil temuan ini menunjukkan: 1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scramble materi pokok Integral Tak Tentu dengan FHitung = 5,952 > Ftabel pada taraf (α = 0,05) = 4,007; 2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan  kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scramble materi pokok Integral Tak Tentu dengan FHitung = 1,254 < pada Ftabel pada taraf (α = 0,05) = 4,007; 3) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan koneksi dan penalaran matematis siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Scramble materi pokok Integral Tak Tentu dengan FHitung = 6,375 (model pembelajaran) dan nilai FHitung = 1,628 (kemampuan koneksi dan penalaran matematis) > Ftabel pada taraf (α = 0,05) = 3,923.

Abstract

This research was a type of development research. The objective of this research aimed to develop pocket books with Islamic nuances based on HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) and contextual material on the Pythagorean theorem and know how the feasibility, effectiveness, and practicality of pocket books with Islamic nuances with HOTS-based and contextual material on the Pythagorean theorem. The research model used in this study was the 4-D model. Data collection techniques used in stages were observation, interviews, questionnaire instruments from material experts and media experts, as well as teacher and student responses to HOTS-based and contextual pocket books and test instruments. The results of this study are in the form of pocket books with Islamic nuances based on HOTS and contextual material on the Pythagorean theorem that is feasible, effective, and practical.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengeksplorasi elemen etnomatematika yang terdapat pada bangunan Pos Bloc di Kota Medan, yang merupakan bekas gedung kantor pos era kolonial Belanda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghubungkan prinsip-prinsip matematika, seperti geometri, transformasi geometri, perbandingan, dan matematika terapan (graf), dengan unsur budaya dan arsitektur bangunan. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian etnografi kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berbagai konsep matematika dapat ditemukan pada elemen-elemen bangunan, seperti jendela, lantai, dan tangga. Temuan ini menyoroti pentingnya integrasi etnomatematika untuk memperkaya pembelajaran matematika yang kontekstual dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

  The decrease in students' mathematical abilities is caused by students' low interest or motivation in mathematics and the use of teaching approaches that are not suitable for students' learning styles, which is decreasing their interest in learning and struggling to understand mathematical materials. This quantitative study with experimental method aims to find out how influential RME (Realistic Mathematics Education) through role play method is on students' mathematical representation ability. A total of 66 students were positioned as research subjects. Data on students' mathematical representation ability was collected using a test of 5 description questions and analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of averages and analytical statistics in the form of t-test (Independent Sample Test). The results showed a statistically significant difference between the mathematical representation ability of students who applied RME and students who only applied conventional learning. And if there is a difference then there is an effect of the treatment given to the experimental class. Following up on the findings in this study, RME with role-playing method has a positive effect on students' mathematical representation skills and can be applied in learning mathematics considering that it can encourage students to be actively involved and create a new circumstance in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing a problem-based learning model assisted by video learning media on the mathematical reasoning abilities of class VIII students of MTS PP Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hajoran. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of the study involved 64 students, with class VIII A as the experimental class using a problem-based learning model, and class VIII B as the control class. Data were collected through a mathematical reasoning ability test and analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed a significance value (Sig.) of 0.000, which is smaller than the significance level of α = 0.05. This shows that there is a significant difference in students' mathematical reasoning abilities between the experimental class and the control class, so that the problem-based learning model assisted by video media has proven effective in improving students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Abstract

This research examines the application of ethnomathematics to the architecture of the Maha Vihara Maitreya Complex Cemara Medan with a focus on mathematical elements such as geometric shapes, symmetry patterns and building proportions. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data collection was carried out through direct observation and document study. The research results show that the temple design, including triangular roofs, octagonal windows, fractal ornaments, and tubular columns, reflects the integration of mathematics and Buddhist culture. These elements not only beautify the building but also function as a contextual source of mathematics learning. This research highlights the importance of linking mathematics education with cultural values ​​to increase understanding and preservation of local traditions.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find elements of mathematics (ethnomathematics) in the swimming pool tourist attraction in Tanjung Morawa, Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach. The data used is data obtained from literature studies, observations, documentation and interviews. Observation and documentation are used to identify ethnomathematics at the Kuala Mega Swimming Pool tourist attraction. Meanwhile, literature and interviews were used to find out more about the architectural artistic values in Kuala Mega buildings. The results of this research are that there are elements of mathematics (ethnomathematics) in the Kuala Mega tourist attraction, namely the concepts of rectangles, circles, octagons and parallel lines. Through the activity of observing the Kuala Mega building in mathematics learning, the ethnomathematics approach explains that cultural elements can be used in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Mahavihara Maitreya in Cemara Asri Medan Complex is one of the largest monasteries in Indonesia and is known as a religious tourism destination that can attract tourists from various backgrounds to see and understand the richness of typical Buddhist architecture. The study of ethnomathematics at Maha Vihara Maitreya can provide benefits, both for academics, tourists, and the general public who want to understand the relationship between mathematics, culture, and spirituality. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach. This type of research is field research, namely research that is carried out systematically to collect data directly in the field. The data collection instrument in this study is by means of observation and documentation. The conclusion based on the results and discussion, this study shows that the exploration of religious tourism and ethnomathematics at Maha Vihara Maitreya not only provides a new perspective in the study of mathematics, but also enriches the understanding of the ways in which culture and religion integrate science in their lives, which in turn increases the educational value and tourism experience for visitors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan etnomatematika pada objek wisata kolam renang Kuala Mega yang ada di Tanjung Morawa, Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Data-data yang digunakan adalah data yang didapat dari studi literatur, observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Observasi dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi etnomatematika pada wisata Kolam Renang Kuala Mega. Studi literatur dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengetahui lebih dalam nilai-nilai seni arsitektur yang ada pada bangunan Kuala Mega. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat etnomatematika pada objek wisata Kuala Mega, yaitu konsep persegi panjang, lingkaran, segi delapan, dan garis sejajar. Melalui kegiatan mengamati bangunan Kuala Mega dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan etnomatematika menjelaskan bahwa unsur budaya dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keaktifan siswa yang diajarkan dengan strategi pembelajaran rotating role dan firing line. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasinya adalaah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA SMA Swasta PABA Binjai. Sampel pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas X MIA-1 dan X MIA-2. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui keaktifan siswa yaitu berbentuk angket. Berdasarkan hasil uji F, didapat nilai Fhitung = 0,04 dan Ftabel =4,04. Diketahui bahwa nilai Fhitung< Ftabel. Ini berarti tidak terdapat perbedan keaktifan siswa yang diajar dengan strategi rotating role dan firing line. Kata Kunci : Keaktifan Siswa; Rotating Role; Firing Line.   ABSTRACT             This study aims to determine the differences in student activity taught by rotating role learning strategies and firing line. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental type of research. The population is all students of class X MIA PABA Binjai Private High School. The sample in this study consisted of 2 classes, namely class X MIA-1 and X MIA-2. The instrument used to determine student activity is in the form of a questionnaire. Based on the results of the F test, the value of Fvalue = 0.04 and Ftable = 4.04. It is known that the value of Fvalue < Ftable. This means that there is no difference in the activity of students who are taught by rotating role strategies and firing line. Keywords : Student Activity; Rotating Roles; Firing Line.
