Abstract

This research aims to describe the mathematical representation of ninth grade students of Hidayatullah Palu Integral Junior High School in solving circle problems in terms of self-efficacy. This research method is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection is done by self efficacy questionnaire, written test, interview and documentation. Data validity uses member check, extended observation, and dependability. The results of this study indicate that subjects with high self efficacy can use all indicators of mathematical representation optimally, able to express their mathematical ideas in three representations namely visual representation, symbolic representation and verbal representation to solve problems from a problem. Students with moderate self efficacy can use all indicators of mathematical representation but not maximally. students with low self efficacy have not maximally fulfilled the indicators of visual mathematical representation ability and have not been able to fulfill the indicators of symbolic representation and verbal representation. Conclusion, students with high self efficacy have high representation skills, students with moderate self efficacy have moderate representation skills, and students with moderate self efficacy have moderate representation skills. with moderate self efficacy have moderate representation skills, and students with low self efficacy have high representation skills. students with low self efficacy have low representation ability. low. Abstract

This research aims to obtain students' mathematical reasoning abilities in solving sequence and arithmetic series word problems in terms of learning style. The method used is providing learning styles, written tests, interviews. The results of this research show that of the three visual, auditory and kinesthetic subjects the ones with the best mathematical reasoning abilities are the visual and kinesthetic learning style subjects. In conclusion, the mathematical reasoning ability of visual subjects is able to fulfill four indicators, namely representing ideas, determining solution strategies, implementing solution strategies, realizing solutions and interesting conclusions. The auditory subject's mathematical reasoning ability is able to fulfill four indicators, namely representing ideas, determining a solution strategy, implementing a solution strategy, solving a solution and drawing conclusions, but in the process there are errors so that the results obtained are less precise. Meanwhile, the mathematical reasoning ability of kinesthetic subjects is able to fulfill 3 indicators, namely representing ideas, determining completion strategies and implementing completion strategies. Abstract

This study aims to describe the problem-solving profiles of eighth-grade students in the fraction material at SMPN Model Terpadu Madani, based on adversity quotient. The subjects of this study consist of 3 students selected based on the results of the ARP questionnaire and the recommendation of the mathematics teacher. The results of this study show that: (1) The problem-solving profile of students in the climber category can understand the problem by stating what is unknown and what data is given. However, they are less complete in writing down the known data from the problem, designing a well-structured solution plan, carrying out the plan as initially created, answering correctly, and checking their answer using a different method. (2) The problem-solving profile of students in the camper category can understand the problem by determining what is unknown and identifying the given data, designing a good and complete solution plan, carrying out the plan as initially made, and answering correctly, but they do not check their answer afterward. (3) The problem-solving profile of students in the quitter category can understand the problem by stating what is unknown and what data is given. However, they are less complete in writing down the known data from the problem, designing a good and complete solution plan, failing to implement the plan as initially made, not answering correctly, and not checking their answer afterward. In conclusion, there are 3 categories of students that require different treatment and attention from the teacher. Climber students need more attention in writing down the known data and checking their answer using a different method. Camper students need to be encouraged to check their answer after completing the problem, and quitter students require more intensive guidance in understanding the problem and carrying out the solution plan correctly. Abstract

Using Quizizz media, this study intends to examine the substantial impact that Project Based Learning (PJBL) has on students' mathematical problem-solving skills in classes XI DKV 1 and XI DKV 2 at SMKN 1 Seberida. A quantitative approach combined with an experimental method is the methodology employed. All pupils in class XI DKV SMKN 1 Seberida, which consists of two classes, XI DKV 1 and XI DKV 2, made up the study's population. Two essay questions with markers of mathematical problem-solving skills served as the research tool. The study's findings demonstrated that students' ability to solve mathematical problems using Quizizz media was significantly impacted by the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) paradigm. In conclusion, students in classes XI DKV 1 and XI DKV 2 at SMKN 1 Seberida's mathematical problem-solving skills are effectively enhanced by the use of Project Based Learning (PJBL) supported by Quizizz media. Abstract

This study aims to develop students' mathematical creative thinking skills in the process of making Tabut miniatures as learning objects at the junior high school level. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach, and data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and semi-structured interviews. The study was conducted at SMPN 03 Bengkulu Tengah with the research subjects being class IX-A students. Data analysis techniques used include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach in making Tabut miniatures can develop students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The conclusion is that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach can develop students' mathematical creative thinking skills through making Tabut miniatures. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa pada pembelajaran matematika melalui Tabut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriftif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan Etno-STEM. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas IX-A SMP Negeri 03 Bengkulu Tengah pada semester ganjil 2024/2025. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan melalui pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembuatan miniatur Tabut dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis Etno-STEM dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the effect of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) learning model on the creative thinking ability of class X SMKS 10 Telkom students on the material of arithmetic and geometric rows and series. The method used in this research is quantitative and descriptively analysed using the quasi experimental design research method. The study population consisted of all students in class X TJA SMKS 10 Telkom Bengkulu City, with 10 students in class X TJA B as the experimental class and 10 students in class X TJA A as the control class. Homogeneity, normality, and hypothesis tests were used to analyse the data for testing the results of this study. We used SPSS 25.0. The results showed that Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, thus indicating that the Project Based Learning learning model assisted by RPG Maker MV affects students' creative thinking skills on the material of arithmetic and geometric rows and series. Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mathematical reasoning ability in solving story problems of two-variable linear equation system. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The results showed that; (1) students with visual learning styles understood the information well through graphs, but were less thorough in numerical manipulation and verbal instructions, causing calculation errors and mathematical modeling (2) auditorial students were able to understand the problem and plan the solution well, but were less thorough in calculations and had difficulty transferring information to mathematical form, resulting in incorrect answers, (3) kinesthetic students understood the problem and planned the solution, but experienced errors in calculations due to difficulty understanding abstract information, lack of accuracy, and difficulty focusing for a long time. Therefore, it can be concluded that the reasoning ability of 8th grade students of SMPK BK Palu is quite good, it just needs to increase the accuracy of the students themselves.   Keywords: Mathematical Reasoning, SPLDV, Learning Style.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain a description of the Analysis of Students' Mathematical Concept Understanding of Grade VII SMP Negeri 3 Ampibabo in Integer Arithmetic Operations who have high, medium, and low mathematical abilities in solving integer arithmetic operations problems. This type of research is qualitative research. The subjects in this study were 3 students taken from 20 grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Ampibabo in the odd semester of 2024/2025. Subjects were selected based on test scores and subject teacher recommendations. Data were obtained from the results of written tests and interviews with research subjects. The results showed that subjects with high abilities could meet 3 indicators, namely restating concepts, Classifying objects according to certain properties, and Presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation. Subjects with medium abilities could meet 2 indicators, namely restating concepts, and Presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation. Subjects with low mathematical abilities only met 1 indicator, namely restating concepts. Thus, it can be concluded that the level of students' mathematical concept understanding of integer arithmetic operations varies depending on their mathematical abilities. Students with higher mathematical abilities demonstrate better and more comprehensive understanding of concepts.   Keywords: Analysis, Conceptual Understanding, Integer Arithmetic Operations, Mathematical Ability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving literacy and numeracy problems based on Kastolan's stages and to identify the factors that contribute to these errors in order to minimize them during the learning process. This research employs a qualitative method with a study case. The subjects selected were six students out of a total of 36 students in class X-2 at SMAN 94 Jakarta. The results of the study indicate that the level of students’ literacy and numeracy skills influences the types and frequency of errors made. The conclusion reveals the factors behind each type of error: (1) conceptual errors occur due to a lack of understanding of the material and basic concepts, which leads students to choose incorrect formulas; (2) procedural errors arise from students’ inability to organize the steps of problem-solving in a sequential and systematic manner; and (3) technical errors result from inaccuracy in modeling the problem into mathematical form, such as writing incorrect variables or numbers.   Keywords: Erros Analysis, Kastolan Stages, Literacy and Numeracy Issues
