Abstract

Swell didominasi kategori tenang (0,1–0,5 m) sepanjang tahun, mengikuti perubahan arah monsun. Simpulan, korelasi antara kecepatan angin dan tinggi gelombang menunjukkan hubungan lemah (r = 0,36), menandakan adanya pengaruh faktor lain seperti arus laut dan swell regional.   Kata Kunci: Gelombang Signifikan, Selat Makassar, Swell, SWAN, Monsun.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model influences problem-solving ability. The type of research used is experimental research with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research subjects were tenth-grade high school students who were divided into two groups: the experimental class, which received learning using the PBL model, and the control class, which received conventional learning. Data were collected through a problem-solving ability test and analyzed using the t-test. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of students taught with the PBL model was better than that of students taught with conventional methods. In addition, PBL learning also enhanced students’ teamwork skills and fostered a sense of responsibility in solving the given problems. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze how students’ cognitive styles influence their thinking processes in mathematical problem solving through a Literature Review approach using the PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The review identifies and synthesizes various studies related to the relationship between cognitive styles—such as field-dependent (FD), field-independent (FI), reflective, and impulsive—and students’ critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills in mathematics learning. The analysis results show that cognitive style has a significant influence on students’ thinking strategies, mathematical representations, and metacognitive abilities. Students with FI and reflective styles tend to think more analytically and systematically, while FD and impulsive students demonstrate strengths in cooperation and communication when provided with scaffolding support. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) are found to be more effective when aligned with students’ individual cognitive styles. Furthermore, evaluation of logic-based educational programs and internal quality assurance systems is necessary to ensure adaptive and sustainable learning. Overall, understanding students’ cognitive styles is crucial for educators in designing flexible, reflective, and learner-centered teaching strategies to optimize higher-order thinking skills in the 21st-century education era, So it can be concluded that cognitive style can significantly influence students' thinking processes regarding thinking strategies and mathematical representation. Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' critical thinking skills in solving numeracy problems in terms of self-esteem levels. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with 25 eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Asembagus selected through purposive sampling technique based on high, medium, and low self-esteem categories. Data were collected through self-esteem questionnaires, numeracy essay tests, and interviews. The critical thinking ability indicators used refer to the six Facione indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. The results show that students with high self-esteem are able to fulfill all critical thinking indicators completely, demonstrated by understanding the problem context, calculation accuracy, drawing logical conclusions, and the ability to reflect on the solution process. Students with medium self-esteem only fulfill some indicators, especially in interpretation, analysis, and evaluation, but are still weak in explanation and self-regulation. Meanwhile, students with low self-esteem tend to only fulfill the basic indicators and are not yet able to provide coherent explanations or recheck their work. The conclusion of this study shows that the level of self-esteem is related to the quality of students' critical thinking skills in solving numeracy problems, where the higher the student's self-esteem, the more complete the achievement of critical thinking indicators. This finding emphasizes the importance of paying attention to affective aspects, especially self-esteem, in efforts to improve the quality of mathematics learning and strengthen numeracy.   Keywords: Critical Thinking, Numeracy, Self-esteem
