Abstract

The aim of this study was to explore the impact of strength-based feedback provided by two different agents (assessor and direct supervisor) to improve employee’s competencies through the implementation of an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Data were collected sequentially with quantitative methods where participants filled out an IDP comprehension questionnaire and qualitative method by conducting semi-structured interviews with selected participants to deepen their understanding regarding the given feedback and IDP. Total participants were 39 employees. The results showed there was no significant difference regarding participants' understanding of their assessment results from the two different feedback agents. Although there were some differences in the experience of participants in the process of receiving feedback, in general, participants understand about the development that will be planned through IDP. In order to optimize the impact of feedback, several things are necessary to be considered i.e. feedback need to be delivered in personal situation and aligned with concrete behaviors at work, and it is important to monitor and evaluate the progress achieved by the employee.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explain the description of commitment to the organization of lecturers and academic support staff at DKI Jakarta private universities. This study uses a quantitative approach method, and the analysis technique was done by descriptive analysis. The subjects in this study were lecturers and employees at at DKI Jakarta private universities, with 432 participants consisting of 216 lecturer and 216 employees. The sampling technique used in this research is cluster random sampling. The scale used was organizational commitment. The results of this study have described that lecturers and employees at DKI Jakarta private universities have different commitments. The lecturers have affective commitment (AC) and employees have continuance commitment (CC).

Abstract

Children with intelectual dissability often experience obstacles in their social skills. This will affect the development of children, especially those related to relationships with other people which are feared to cause impacts such as loneliness and isolation. This study aims to  train childrens’s social skills with group play therapy. Group play therapy is predicted to improve children’s social skills because it involves group activities. The approach in the research used is a qualitative approach with a casestudy reasearch method with single subject. The data colletion process was carried out using interviews, observation and documentation. The subject in this study was a child with mild mental retardation. The results showed that group play therapy can improve social skills in children with mild mental retardation which involves interaction with peers and participation in playgroups.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the correlation between Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in terms of family functioning. The subjects of this study consisted of 364 undergraduate students in Central Java. The research population was taken through random sampling technique. The measuring instrument in this study uses the Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) scale consisting of 20 items with reliability value of 0.384 and validity range between 0.72 to 0.94, and the family functioning scale consists of 26 items which have a reliability value 0.874 and validity items between 0.72 to 0.92. The method of data analysis in this research used statistical analysis. The quantitative data analysis technique used is Pearson's product moment correlation technique using calculations through the SPSS for windows 19.0 program. The results of this study showed that 1) There is a negative significant correlation between family functioning and Fear of Missing Out (FoMO); 2) The most influence aspects of family functioning to Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) are growth and adaptability; 3) There is 88,7% of students access the internet because of entertainment purpose; and 4) There is 50,5% of students access the internet more than 7 hours a day.

Abstract

Overseas students must adapt to various adjustments and aspects of daily life. In addition, because they are not directly under the authority of their parents, overseas students are more likely to carry out activities independently. This can cause them to neglect their studies and lead to a delay known as academic procrastination. Low self-regulation is one of the factors that have an impact on student procrastination. The method used in this research is quantitative with 137 overseas students as respondents. The scale used is the SSSRQ and APS scale. For sampling, this study employs a purposive sampling strategy. correlation approach The product-moment Pearson was employed in this study as the hypothesis test. Based on the results of testing the hypothesis, it shows that there is a very significant negative relationship between self-regulation and academic procrastination in overseas students.

Abstract

The pre-prosperous family is a family that is in level of less of everything so they should spent their time to fulfill their economic necessity. Meanwhile, other tasks couldn’t be touched include educational is the main duty of parents who have important role in children psychological progress. Basically, the child's character is formed and forged by the environment around them through value education, this education becomes knowledge of value. This research intends to describe parent's role of children character education at pre-posperous family using qualitative approach with a method of case studies. The informant of this research were parents (father and mother) with children in middle school (13-15 years old), had a incapable paper of pre-posperous family were about 16 informant (6 fathers , 6 mothers, and 4 children.) The subject of this research was chosen by purposive sampling. Data collection with a semi-structured interview and the validity of triangulating data sources as well as analysis techniques used by thematic analysis.The result of this research reveals that the values that are considered as important value include the value of worship, the value of responsibility, the value of well-mannered, the value of bear a hand, the value of living independently, the value of self – suffeciency, the value of respect, the value of discipline and the value of honest.The relation between parents and children concerns on parental attention, child reaction, constraints in the deliver of character values, child opennes to parent, parent's role and method in transmitting the child character values to Pre-Prosperous  family by giving an advice, setting and example, administering punishment, perfoming oversight.The child applies the character values implanted by their parents in daily activities as well as the discipline of worship, speaking with manners and respect.

Abstract

Achievement motivation is needed by students in undergoing education at tertiary institutions in order to achieve the desired achievements. Trigger motivation is influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Learning self-regulation is one of the intrinsic factors that influence student efforts in designing achievement targets and goals while academic culture is an extrinsic factor that influences the effectiveness of achievement motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of SRL and academic culture on achievement motivation and to obtain an overview of SRL and academic culture on student achievement motivation. Quantitative descriptive research with a sample of 131 students at "X" University using accidental sampling technique. Data analysis with multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that SRL has a direct effect on achievement motivation while academic culture has no direct effect. This motivating research shows that intrinsic factors have a stronger influence on student achievement than extrinsic factors. In addition, it was also found that there was influence from other factors that also influenced the level of student achievement motivation so that it could be reviewed further.

Abstract

Emotional eating is an eating behavior that is influenced by various kinds of negative feelings or coping responses to negative feelings such as sadness, stress, anger, anxiety, depression, and others that can trigger the potential formation of impulsive purchasing behaviors, especially food products. This is because the desire to eat to meet their emotional needs will indirectly lead individuals to make impulsive purchases. This study aims to determine the role of emotional eating on the potential formation of impulsive food buying behavior in students who are in their thesis. Research is carried out by quantitative methods. The population is 333 with the sample used is 179 thesis students for the 2021/2022 even academic year class of 2015-2018 Setia Budi Surakarta University. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The measuring instrument of this study used the Impulsive Buying Tendence scale and the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire scale. The data analysis method used is a simple linear regression analysis. The results of data analysis show a coefficient correlation value of 0.301 with p = 0.008 (p0.05). This proves that Emotional Eating plays a positive role in the potential formation of Impulsive Food Buying Behavior, the higher the Emotional Eating, the higher the Impulsive Food Buying Behavior. So in this case the proposed hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memvalidasi skala coping stres dengan model rasch, mengidentifikasi gambaran coping dan kecenderungan coping stres mahasiswa yang sedang menyusun skripsi di Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo ditinjau dari jenis kelamin. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian ini mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo yang sedang menyusun skripsi dengan sampel berjumlah 327 mahasiswa dengan teknik sampling insidental. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala psikologis tipe Likert yang diadopsi dari penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Sipayung, Nurliana. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan model rasch. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan reliabilitas Alpha Cronbach 0.85, person 0.91 dan item 0.87 tergolong sangat baik. Secara deskriptif terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara rerata penggunaan problem focused coping 61.1% dan emotional focused coping 38.9% pada mahasiswa laki-laki serta rerata penggunaan problem focused coping 38.2% dan emotional focused coping 61.8% pada mahasiswa perempuan. Kesimpulannya masih banyak mahasiswa perempuan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo memiliki strategi coping stres yang kurang efektif saat menyusun skripsi.

Abstract

Mental health is one of the essential aspects that should be watching out in student evolution proccess. The growths of a student contain frustation and over learning pressure vulnurable to cause mental disorder occur to student. Occerences of mental issue occurr everywhere. For instance, based on the result of KPPA survey in 2020, retrieved almost 3.200 (13%) student of elementary school and students of senior highschool from 34 provinces in Indonesia undergo symptoms depression both mild to severe tiers. Therefore, refer to that issues, this article aims to describe school contribution to strenghtening students mental health. The method of this research uses library research. The result shows that there are several measures which are using by school to amplifing mental health. First, through learning strategy. Second, provisioning counseling guidance services. Fourth, giving motivation to students. The last one is giving time to take a break.
