Abstract

Abstract

The commodity of coffee in Indonesia was first recognized and brought by the Dutch to be cultivated on the island of Java. Coffee production in Indonesia is a superior product in several regions, including in Jember Regency, East Java. However, the abundant coffee production, unfortunately, is only sold for coffee or its raw materials. In addition, the main problems of coffee farmers include coffee quality, capital, and marketing. Even though the potential for coffee in Silo District is the largest supplier in Jember Regency, breaking the 40% mark. The research method uses Aset Based Community Development (ABCD) by utilizing geographical assets of regional natural resources and economic assets in the area of Pace Village, Silo District, Jember Regency. The goals in this community engagement are (1) knowing the potential of Pace Village, and (2) being able to make alternative products for processed coffee cakes. The results of community engagement, namely processed coffee products in the form of coffee cakes, are an alternative to increasing the economic value and potential branding of coffee in Pace Village.

In doing so, the community outreach program conducted several stages, from planning to evaluation with government servants in the district and sub-district of Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Indonesia. A total of 52 participants were involved in this program in an onsite class with fully functional learning tools. As a result, content related to the service is excellent in fundamental knowledge, and quizzes to discover their abilities in handling different customer traits have been successfully delivered effectively. However, this program has time limitations, suggesting that future workshops have complete material prepared to emphasize participants understanding. This theoretical and practical contribution is discussed.

Abstract

The rapid development of communication technology goes hand in hand with the increase in hoax information that reaches the community, including in the environment of students. Therefore, critical thinking is needed to analyze information, namely by increasing digital literacy among students. In simple terms, digital literacy is the ability to understand and evaluate, so that the information accessed is correct and safe using digital technology. This community service aims to improve the digital literacy of students through anti-hoax strategies on social media. The community service was carried out at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) Al-Manar on December 5, 2022, by using lecture and open discussion methods involving 40 students who were given a pre-test before the activity was carried out and a post-test after the activity. The results showed that 90% of students had received hoax news whereas during the pre-test 77.5% of students involved in this socialization activity had not been able to distinguish between hoax news and real news. However, after the digital literacy socialization activities, the post-test results showed 97.5% of students were able to distinguish hoax news on social media and were familiar with the term digital literacy.

Abstract

"Ngidam Muncar" is a culture-based tourism village located in Muncar Village, Susukan District, Semarang Regency. Muncar has the Jaran Kepang Langen Turonggo Jati (LTJ) community which has so far contributed to strengthening tourism potential in Muncar, however based on the findings there are problems including: 1) lack of regeneration of Jaran Kepang dancer cadres; 2) lack of human resources in terms of understanding and skills in Jaran Kepang dance because they are self-taught; 3) have not been able to wear fashion make-up independently. This problem is urgent to be resolved immediately because currently tourism in Muncar Village has started to revive after yesterday's hiatus due to the Covid 19 pandemic. The program implementation method starts with FGD, training for 5 meetings and evaluation. The results of the activities that have been carried out include 1) forming a cadre of 20 young people and youngsters; 2) participants have basic dance knowledge and movement skills; 3) participants have the knowledge and skills to wear fashion make-up independently. The conclusion of this activity program is that there is an increase in the understanding and skills of the participants. These skills will get better if honed continuously.
