Abstract

Effective waste management is not only important for protecting the environment, but also has great potential as a sustainable economic solution. In Babakan Village, waste processed through the incineration process with REST-I becomes ash fertilizer so that it has economic value that contributes to waste reduction. The main challenge in the use of ash fertilizer is marketing that is still limited to the local scope. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to empower the community through digital marketing as a strategic step in creating sustainable economic solutions. Through digital marketing training and assistance, the public is invited to take advantage of digital technology such as social media and marketplaces to expand the reach of product marketing. Thus, ash fertilizer products can not only be accessed by the local market, but also reach consumers in various regions and can increase the income of the local community. PKM activities also focus on developing environmental awareness and community-based economic empowerment, with the aim of realizing an environmentally friendly and sustainable economy.

Abstract

This community service program addresses the critical literacy challenges in Indonesia, where PISA 2022 results showed Indonesian students' reading literacy scores of only 371 out of 600, ranking 62nd out of 81 countries. The program "GELIAT GUBUK BACA" (Integrated Literacy Movement with Empowered Teachers for Children's Reading Creation) was implemented at MIN 1 Banyumas to empower teachers in developing quality reading books with moral values using artificial intelligence (AI) and QR Code technology. The program employed a participatory-collaborative methodology through intensive training, digital mentoring, and strategic partnership with professional publishers. Twenty teachers participated in a five-day intensive workshop covering book writing techniques, moral content development, AI utilization (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Canva AI), and QR Code integration. Results showed significant improvements in teachers' writing competency from 45% (pre-test) to 78% (post-test), representing a 33% increase. The program produced 18 quality manuscripts with moral content, established a sustainable teacher-writer community of 18 active members, and created a digital platform managing 85 audio narrations through QR Code technology. Student engagement in reading activities increased by 40%, vocabulary comprehension improved by 35%, and reading comprehension scores increased by 25%. This innovative approach demonstrates the potential of technology-enhanced community empowerment in addressing literacy challenges while preserving local moral values.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of school learning communities through technical assistance in developing environmentally friendly ecobrick-based literacy gardens, utilizing the Pulau Bungin Urban Forest as an ecoedupark, and implementing deep learning-based instruction. The learning communities, consisting of elementary and junior high school teachers and principals organized in the Teachers' Working Group (KKG) and Principals' Working Group (K3S), were assisted through four stages comprising training, field practice, mentoring, and the development of contextual environment-based learning. The mentoring program was conducted over 32 instructional hours across eight sessions. The results strengthened the pedagogical and professional competencies of the learning communities in environmental management, optimizing the use of the Pulau Bungin Urban Forest as an ecoedupark, and designing contextual deep learning-based instruction. The program also facilitated the transfer of university research outcomes and appropriate educational technology to the community through the development of literacy gardens, ecobrick innovation, QR code-based plant identification as a simple educational technology, and strengthened collaboration among learning communities, thereby enhancing community capacity for sustainable environmental management. Integrating the program outcomes into deep learning-based instruction further enhanced teachers' competencies in developing contextual learning based on local environmental potential. The program also strengthened collaboration among universities, local government, and schools in environmental management. As a follow-up, the program fostered independent and collaborative learning communities that serve as role models for implementing environment-based learning and promoting sustainable community empowerment.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to introduce deep learning to elementary school teachers of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) across Bengkalis Regency through an experience-based workshop. The activity involved 26 IPAS teachers as participants. A participatory, experience-based training method was chosen because it allows teachers to experience for themselves the deep learning process they are expected to apply, making it more effective for building pedagogical understanding than one-way lecturing. This activity represents an effort to increase community capacity, particularly among teachers, by applying educational research results to classroom practice. The results showed that all indicators reached 100% and were categorized as very good. Qualitatively, participants stated that the workshop encouraged active involvement, exploration, discovery, and enjoyable learning, while also strengthening teachers’ readiness to develop simple experiment-based LKPDs. However, limitations in time, infrastructure, and school facilities remained important obstacles to implementation in practice. Therefore, an experience-based workshop can serve as a relevant initial strategy for introducing deep learning to teachers, although its sustained implementation still requires follow-up mentoring and institutional support.

Abstract

Beauty clinics as small and medium aesthetic health-service businesses often face fragmented administration, scheduling, service-history recording, inventory control, and reporting. This article aims to describe an empowerment program for clinic operational staff through assisted implementation of a digital clinic management information system as a downstream application of digital transformation research. The method consisted of needs assessment, feature-use training, workflow mentoring, and achievement evaluation using surveys and interviews. The target group was operational staff from ten beauty clinics using the digital system; the evaluation involved 120 respondents and nine informants. The results indicate that perceived digital transformation, operational efficiency, and operational performance were in high to very high categories. The evaluation model shows a positive effect of digital transformation on operational efficiency and clinic performance, with efficiency acting as a partial mediator. Interviews confirmed practical changes, including faster registration, more accurate data, improved staff coordination, and the initial use of data-driven operational decisions. This program contributes to strengthening digital capacity among beauty clinics and offers an appropriate-technology mentoring model for aesthetic service businesses.
