Abstract

This study discusses of the internalization the value of Kekidungan Javanese in Hindu youth Pringsewu Regency-Lampung. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive method. This study tries to reveal how the understanding and internalization of Kekidungan Javanese grew through the internalization process in the Hindu community, especially the Hindu Youth in Pringsewu-Lampung. This study resulted in the following findings: (A) The Hindu Community’s Understanding of Kekidungan Javanese of Song in Pringsewu Contains: 1) Understnading of Kekidungan as kinaryo dungo (mantra); 2) The types of chants that have developed include (a) Kekidungan macapat such as kinanthi, asmarandana, asmarandana, dhandanggula, pangkur, megatruh, pucung; and (b) Kekidungan panembromo such as the ayak-ayak pamungkas, and ibu pertiwi; 3) Understanding is shaped by experience. (B) The internalization of Javanese chant in the Hindu Community in Pringsewu-Lampung contains: 1) the song is internalized at religious events such as kliwonan, purnama, tilem and social events at people’s homes (anjangsana); 2) The learning process is carried out in the Paguyuban and self-study; 3) kekidungan is able to mobilize Hindu Youth to learn Javanese culture which occurs through the internalization process; 4) internalization of Kekidungan Javanese values in the Hindu community in Pringsewu-Lampung includes (a) aesthetic values, (b) social values, (c) religious values. This research is expected to be developed, so that it can be a guide for human life to achieve safety and peace.

Abstract

The background of this scientific work is taken from the curiosity of the writer to know the effect of the learn results of students grade 5 primary school in Pasraman Candra Prabha Jelambar through the process of memorizing and singing thea spell. Teaching students to memorize a spell using the usual method of memorizing is very difficult to remember because students are easily feel bored. Therefore, by applying singing method in memorization a spell as a method of learning expected to improve the effectiveness remember students in memorization a spell. Based on it, formulation of the problem in this research is whether a method of singing can increase a memory of students in memorization a spell. Research aims to understand the increase in memory of students in memorization a spell. Design in this research using the kind of research the act of a class that requires the collaboration between practitioner and researchers in understanding agreement about the problems and the decision-making process finally delivery sameness of action. Therefore, in this research researchers conducted collaboration with teachers (homeroom). Variables used in this research is the variable free and output variable. Data collection techniques are done through observation, test, assessment and literature. Data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative analysis. This research result indicates that method singing can increase the remember students in memorization a spell. Based on the data the result of this research, the average class that uses the method memorization < method of singing in remembering a spell is 65 < 86, so that can be concluded that method sing in memorization a spell able to increase memory students. Students who formerly less excited in following learning became more motivated because singing is the funnest thing. Based on the outcome of this research, it is suggested that method of singing be able to apply in their learning in the pasraman or at school, because it is very suitable when there is a a learning process that require rote.

Abstract

This study discusses: Study of Human Values at the Nyulubang Ceremony in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province. The Nyulubang or Mekingsan ceremony in Mesuji Regency is very important to study because it is carried out from generation to generation but not many understand its function, and meaning, but in general people believe there will be impacts if the tradition is violated. the meanings and values of humanity that are written and implied in it. In general, this study aims to describe the data and facts that occur in the field so that it is expected to be a guide and provide guidance to the public in order to know how the procession of the Nyulubang Mekingsan Ceremony in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province; This study uses qualitative research methods to systematically obtain data, determine data sources, data processing, and data analysis so that it can be understood about the Human Values at the Nyulubang Ceremony in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province. The results of this study reveal that the Nyulubang/Mekingsan ceremony is carried out by Hindus in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province, because there is no good day to carry out the pitra Yadnya ceremony (burying the corpse carrying out the Pengabenan Ceremony). The Nyulubang/Mekingsan ceremony is a procession of burying corpses carried out by Hindus in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province secretly (not reporting to Kelian Adat, Parisada, and other Village Officials, therefore the implementation is only attended by the closest family). The purpose of carrying out the Nyulubang / Mekingsan Ceremony is so that the body is not long left in the house. The human values contained in the Nyulubang/Mekingsan ceremony are the values of compassion, non-violence, the value of peace, the right attitude, and the truth.

Abstract

This study discusses the understanding of the Autotu Nimoe (corpse burial) ceremony as a learning process for the Hindu theology of the Nuaulu ethnic group in Lama village, Sepa village, Central Maluku district. This study discusses the understanding of the Nuaulu ethnic community towards the form, meaning and function of the Autotu Nimoe (corpse burial) ceremony. This study aims to determine the understanding of the ethnic community of Nuaulu Autotu Nimoe Ceremony (corpse burial). In this study using an approach approach, with interview and library techniques. The results of the study reveal that the Autotu Nimoe (corpse burial) ceremony is still applied by the Nuaulu ethnic community until now in the same form. The understanding of the Nuaulu ethnic community about this ceremony is that it has been carried out by ancestors from ancient times.

Abstract

This study examines the Meaning of worshiping clothes to Increase Understanding of Ethical Values in Hinduism (A Case Study of Hindu Society in DKI Jakarta). The worship phenomenon worn by Hindu society in general, and teenagers in particular turned out to cause some problems from the point of view of Hindu ethics. This study aims to determine the meaning problem related to the changes and shifts in ethical values and clothes aesthetics of prayer based on the Balinese customs inherited in the urban environment in DKI Jakarta. The method applied in this research is qualitative method. The theoretical frameworks used as the basis for data analysis are ethical theory mainly related to ethical education, aesthetic theory, and theory of symbol related to the symbolic meaning of the temple worshiping clothes to the temple. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded: (1) change and shift of ethical value of worshiping clothes to temple for teenagers in DKI Jakarta influenced by some dominant factors, among others: the development of popular mode, multiethnic urban culture, and just follow the trend, 2) the waning of the prayer-dress ethic education is related to Balinese customs, and (3) in spite of the change, but its essential meaning is still maintained because ethics values (aesthetics and propriety) and aesthetics (harmony, beauty) are still taught in the family environment and pasraman education at the tempels.

Abstract

This research provides an overview of the necessity for developing pasraman as a vehicle for religious education, especially for young Hindu generation and the community in Fena Leisela Sub District, Buru District, of Maluku Province. The discussions in this research are: 1) How is the Public Perception espacially community in Fena Leisela Sub District about it; and 2) How is the real potential of Community for concern issues. The aim of this research is to ansure that Community in Fena Leisela Sub District can build Pasraman as a vehicle for educate the Community. In other word the developing of this pasraman is very important because there are still a lot of Hindu people in that region who do not understand the teachings of Hinduism. When the Pasraman can be build then the convertation will not heven in the Community. The theories used in this research are 1) Swot Analysis Theory, 2) Human Capital Improvement Theory, and 3) Development Theory. The method in this research is a description method, with the qualitative approach. Research  data, especially primary data carried out by directly discussion  in the field by with several Hindu religious figures or institutions and community leaders. On the contrary, the secondary data have got from some references to support the results of research. The results of concern research namely: Community have understood the benefits of establishing Pasraman in Fena Leisela Sub District; the Community have ability to develop the Pasraman; They also have ability to maintain pasraman security; Land for developing Pasraman have been ready; Availability of the Teacher candidates for Pasraman have fullfil the standar; Curriculum for Pasraman generally have been developed by the government and community should add the row material for specific identity value; Controler for Pasraman have been ready per-standart.

Abstract

This research will discuss about lastare as a communication symbol used by the indigenous people of Buru Island in sending messages. Today the influence of information and communication technology is very massive, this condition has an impact on the traditions of the people who use cultural symbols of their local wisdom as communication symbols, the traditions of the people of Buru Island who use the last symbol as a symbol of communication feel the impact. The main problem in this research is why the lastare message is considered a symbol of communication in the culture of the Buru Island people, and what is the meaning of the lastare message in the communication of the Buru people. The purpose of this research is to use a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation studies, then the theory used is symbolic interaction. The findings of this study are lastare as a symbol of communication which in the process is an agreement between the tribes on Buru Island, the role of lastare as a symbol that bridges communication between them. Lastare as communication has meaning and understanding based on agreement, then in the communication message there are also other symbols used to interpret the message owned by the communicator.

Abstract

In Balinese society, it has been proven that many women are capable of carrying out tasks as befits men, such as being a sulinggih, pampangku (jan bangul), but women are generally reluctant to choose this opportunity to become the field they are engaged in. Scriptures or guidelines in ejection are often used as an excuse to perpetuate injustice regarding the provisions that must be obeyed by women in religious activities/prayers. Women play an important role in being involved in religious ceremonies and other Yajna activities. One of the important roles of women is their involvement in the Pitra Yajna ceremony, namely the Ngaben ceremony. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of women in carrying out the cremation ceremony in Wana Sari Hamlet, Swastika Buana Village, Seputih Banyak District, Central Lampung Regency and to analyze the shape of the role of women in the Ngaben ceremony in Wana Sari Hamlet, Swastika Buana Village, Seputih Banyak District, Central Lampung Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method related to field research which is usually research related to the social sciences. The results of the study are that women have a social role in society and secondly, the role of women is to strengthen a sense of solidarity in the effort to transform religious values and the division of responsibilities for the implementation and development of religious rituals, especially at the Ngaben ceremony, is sustainable. The role that women have in carrying out the Ngaben ceremony is that the women specifically make Banten Upakara, while the men handle other equipment that requires more manpower, such as making bade and others. The rights of Hindu women in the Ngaben ceremony greatly determine the Atman and all of their ancestors in order to achieve perfection and happiness in God's realm.

Abstract

Since ancient times, the Javanese people have had very complete traditional ceremonies in traditional wedding ceremonies. The marriage procession is divided into three stages, the first stage is pre-marriage, the second stage is during the marriage ceremony, and the third stage is after marriage. This study aims to determine the Javanese traditional marriage procession in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using data collection methods through library studies, observation and documentation. The results of the research are: 1. The procession of the event before the wedding, namely watching, applying, asak tukon, paningset and srah-srahan; 2. The procession at the time of marriage, namely the tarub and tawuhan ceremony, siraman ceremony, ngrik ceremony, midodareni ceremony, ijab ceremony, panggih ceremony, bridal pawiwahan and pahargyan (reception); 3. The procession after the wedding is bringing the bride and groom. The Javanese traditional marriage procession from the start of the application to the boyongan is full of educational values of noble character through the symbols of offerings or uborampe. Uborampe offerings in every procession of Javanese traditional wedding ceremonies have very noble meanings and values that must be understood and preserved, and we serve as guidance in carrying out traditional ceremonies inherited from our ancestors.

Abstract

The Mayah Ikut tradition contains educational values. The strictness of tradition can defeat all global civilizations that want to disturb existing traditions, so symbolic thoughts and ethical actions are characteristic of human dignity that underlies all progress of local culture and society. Cultural acculturation is a custom and its concrete form is the norm. The actions of the local community become customs and traditions, because actions that are successful and profitable tend to be repeated in the same way, over and over again to form. Mayah Ikut has a very deep meaning if it is studied and absorbed, even though it only looks like an offering, but behind it there is something that needs to be revealed to be known together. The values contained in the Mayah Ikut tradition are the value of discipline, the value of togetherness and cultural values
