Abstract

The development of a reduce-reuse-recycle (3R) based solid waste management system was studied in the Pariaman City Beach Tourism Area which consists of Gandoriah Beach, Cermin Beach, Kata Beach, Angso Duo Island and Tangah Island. Solid waste managed is 2,646.813 m3/day. Development based on Permen PU No. 3 of 2013, with a scale of area management that serves 100% of the waste generated. The planned waste management system includes: sorting and storage, collection, processing at the Solid Waste Processing Site by Reduce Reuse Recycle approach (TPS3R) and transport to the landfill site. The needs of infrastructure and facility for solid waste management includes 100 liter of communal storage with three categories (compostable waste, recyclable waste and others) as many as 21 sets and 20 sets of communal storages as much as 4 sets. Waste collection uses indirect communal patterns with a 1.5 m3 motorized pedicab and one rattan basket 0.5 m3, processing at TPS 3R in by composting, grinding of coconut shell, making plastic handicrafts and selling recyclable plastic, paper and glass waste to third parties, transferring using a 6 m3 container followed by transportation from TPS 3R to Tungkal Selatan Landfill using arm roll truck.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to know the physical characteristics (water vapor transmission  rate, water absorption), mechanical characteristics of edible film (maturation, tensile strength), morphology(functional group) and the edible film thermal properties made of corn starch and keratin. In this research, keratin extraction method of chicken feather waste is continued to know the influence of keratin preparation as filler material. Keratin concentration was used for each variation with comparison to corn starch matrix with keratin ie 0%, 3%, 5%, 7% and 9%. In the research used type sorbitol plasticizer which is a sugar substitutecompound that is non toxin. The data obtained from the results of the study in the analysis to see the properties of feeding for food packaging with a low rate of water vapor transmission with a value of 0.00334 g / cm2 / day. From the testing of mechanical properties for tensile strength and elongation, the optimum percentage of keratin addition was 9% whose values were 25.02 MPa and 3.64% respectively. Thermal analysis and functional groups with the addition of keratin increase the melting temperature and decomposition temperature by mixing physically. From all tests, the best percentage of keratin addition was found on the 9% keratin composition.

Abstract

The problem that often appears in the distribution of economic assistance is miss-targeting assistance. This miss-targeted distribution is also faced by Baitul Maal Yayasan Al-Anshor Asmawiah, a foundation that receives and distributes economic aid. This obstacle is faced due to the many criteria attributes of potential recipients, confusing the foundation in selecting aid recipients and some parties are still cheating. Information provided by potential beneficiaries is often incomplete so there is a lack of data on the prospective beneficiary forms. The method for selecting economic aid is the C4.5 algorithm, which is an algorithm that forms a decision tree as a reference for selecting economic assistance. After obtaining the rules, the foundation implements the system in assisting. This system makes it easier for the public to fill out economic assistance forms and it is easy to immediately find out information whether they reserve the right to economic assistance or not and make it easier for administrators to get information divided to whom reserve the right to attain assistance.

Abstract

Floating net cage activities can cause  water quality to decrease. The feed remains and the metabolism of the fish  from these activities produces nitrogen and phosphorus .  The objective of this study  is to obtain the calculation model and the amount of phosphorus released into the waters of Laut Tawar Lake  as a result of floating  cage activities. The resulting  formula  was Pw = (F x [P]p) – ((It – Io) x [P]i), where their variables were given feed (F), phosphorus concentration of feed ([P]p), the final weight of fish (It), the initial weight of fish (Io), and phosphorus concentration in fishes ([P]i). It can be used to predict the increase in phosphorus waste based on the increase in floating net cage area. The weight of tilapia increases exponentially with the  day of cultivation in the equation Y = 12.70e0.02x and the goldfish followed the formula  Y = 2.28e0.03x. Phosphorus in tilapia varies  from 1.58% to 2.23% with an average of 1.97%. Goldfish contain  1.19 - 2.02% phosphorus, with an average of 1.52%. Goldfish  growth  was not optimal due to inadequate feeding,   so  without excessive feeding and did not generate  phosphorus waste. The cultivation of  tilapia releases  0.09 Kg P/m2 of phosphorus waste from floating cages .

Abstract

According to Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No.03-7065-2005, the building with more than 500 inhabitants, should prepare plumbing system design. The plumbing sewerage design of student flats building referred to SNI 03-6481- 2000 and SNI 03-7065-2005. Sewerage system for black- and grey water was discharged separately. Black water comes from the closet and the toilet clean out, while grey water comes from the lavatory, sink and floor drain. The wastewater flow rate is determined based on the plumbing fixtures. The sewage flowed partially full in horizontal pipe, and discharged into the standpipe in the the building shaft then flowed to the wastewater treatment plant i.e anaerobic-aerobic bioseptic tank. Grease traps are mounted at the sink to separate oils and fats. Each wastewater fixture is equipped with a fixture vent connected to the standpipe vent which extended through the roof to outdoors. Vent system consists of the vent circuit that connected to the toilet and the floor drain respectively, and the single vent that connected to the sink and the lavatory respectively. Black water sewerage pipes used 3-4 inches PVC, while  the grey water sewerages used 1 ½ - 2 ½ inches PVC, and vent used pipe 2-4 inches PVC.

Abstract

The problems that occur in the company is the production system make to order, for example PT. XYZ. Unknown certainty the amount of the order lenses will be produced. So it is not known how labor should be allocated to each shift. Then used the approach of dynamic programming to optimize the number of workers per shift in the PT. XYZ. This study aims to determine the analysis of the dynamic programming optimization to allocate the amount of labor per shift to be effective. The type of research data is primary data obtained through direct observation in PT. XYZ. The results of the research based on the calculation of the forward recursive dynamic programming: shift 1 = 105 people, shift 2 = 104 people and shift 3 = 104 people. While the solution of the optimal allocation of labor for each shift based on the calculation of the backward recursive dynamic programming: shift 1 = 105 people, shift 2 = 104 people and Shift 3 = 104 people. Then the PT. XYZ should allocate 313 workers, so that the allocation of labor to each shift is optimal according to the order received

Abstract

The act of theft is an act carried out without being known by the owner. It takes vigilance in maintaining security at home, shops, buildings and other places. This study discusses how to design a room security system equipped with sensors placed at the entrance or at other locations that are equipped with security system applications. The study used ultrasonic sensors mounted on the door of the room and the Arduino microcontroller as a tool to process and the buzzer that functions to issue a warning sound. Cameras IP used to display indoor images and website applications to display and control streaming. The application works to detect when there is a movement approaching at a certain distance to the sensor. When there is a movement, the sensor will send a signal to Arduino and then Arduino sends a notification to the user. Users receive phone call notifications and can view room conditions through camera access on the website application. Website application is equipped with a control menu display that functions to turn on and off the alarm. The system prototype can send notifications to users via mobile phones if there is movement in a room with an IP camera.

Abstract

In palm oil companies in carrying out the production process, there are still potential hazards in the work area such as at the sterilizer station, thresser station, press station, clarification station and other stations. The method used in solving these problems is the HIRARC method, which aims to reduce the increased risk and create a good work environment. Based on the risk assessment that has been carried out by the author, there are four risk level categories, namely extreme risk, moderate risk, high risk and low risk. At an extreme risk, one of which is broken bones, which can take lives. At moderate risk, one of them is hitting the head on the floor. While at high risk, namely fractures, and sprains. Lastly, the low risk is one of sprains. Risk assessment is given a level in each risk category so that the most dangerous risk is obtained, namely the sterilizer gets level 15, thresser gets level 6, pressing gets level 8, while clarification gets the lowest level, namely 3. Risk control is carried out by providing risk mitigation such as wear PPE, apply SOPs, clean the work area.

Abstract

The trophic status of Laut Tawar Lake was increasingly leading to an alarming level of degradation. Efforts to anticipate an increase in trophic status require scientific knowledge of the trophic phenomena of the waters empirically. This research examines the trophic status parameters to produce a model of the trophic status of Laut Tawar Lake. The proposed model was a modification of Carlson's Trophic State Index Method. Analysis of the relationship examined the interaction of water clarity (SD) with chlorophyll-a (Chl), Total Suspended Solid, and Total Dissolved Solids, and the interaction of chlorophyll-a with nutrient concentration (TP, TN). Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively, correlation, and regression. The results showed that the waters of Laut Tawar Lake contain phosphate (TP) 34 µg/L, Total Nitrogen 687 µg/L, chlorophyll-a 10 µg/L, Total Suspended Solid 47 mg/L, Total Dissolved Solid 84 mg/L, and water clarity 4.0 m. The regression test showed that the abundance of phytoplankton (Chl) was affected by nutrient phosphate with the empirical model equation Chl = 0.565 TP – 9.161. Nitrogen nutrients did not partially affect the concentration of chlorophyll-a in the waters of Laut Tawar Lake. Water clarity is influenced by chlorophyll-a and TSS, where TDS has no effect partially. The empirical model obtained is Ln SD = 1.757 – 0.013 Chl – 0.008 TSS. Modification of Carlson's TSI by substituting the two equations obtained the equation TSIdlt = 13.46 + 8.08 ln TP + 0.04 TP + 0.04 TSS. This model simulation gives an estimation rate of 91.06%.

Abstract

Quality control is an activity to certify that the process meets the enterprise's standards. The Quality Division of CV GGG has been encouraged to find suitable methods to decrease current larger than common defects. This research aims to evaluate the quality of the carton box production line based on the new seven tools approach. This approach begins with affinity diagrams followed by interrelationship diagrams, tree diagrams, matrix analysis diagrams, activity network diagrams, and process decision program charts. The study identified two defects: untidy paint quality and fragmented fractions throughout the production line. Furthermore, implementing the new seven tools has been distinguished primary factors causing defects. The first factor is the unavailability of manual Standard Operational procedures for maintenance schedules. The next factor is unnecessary movement during storage and transfer of materials and improper working environment on the production workshops. Several scenarios have been proposed to eliminate such defects and increase productivity.
