Abstract

Participatory development communication is a communication model that is adaptive to various social conditions of the community. One of them is the Bur Telege tourist park located in Hakim Bale Bujang village, Takengon city, Central Aceh. Bur Telege was established due to the local community's concerns about the high level of violations of Islamic law that occurred, the second reason being the difficulty of finding employment at this time. An interesting thing to study is of course because the Bur Telege tourist park is managed directly by the Village-Owned Enterprise BUMD which works together to find the best solution to the problems faced. This study will try to review how development communication is used to empower the local community. Four pillars were found until finally the empowerment model used can be stimulated. Starting from the preparation of the vision and mission of the Bur Telege tourist park, then continued with a common perception, promotion, education and motivation, then continued with the institutionalization stage, then entered the support mobilization stage and finally the action stage.

Abstract

Humans are social creatures that cannot be separated from socialization activities carried out through interactions with others. One of the activities carried out is communication. Basketball is an example of a big ball sport that requires interpersonal communication. This study aims to determine the Interpersonal Communication used by coaches in motivating basketball athletes Mountain Gold Timika so that their students in building quality so that their abilities become an achievement. The type of research used is qualitative. This research uses an interactive analysis model, which after the data collection process, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Based on research that has been conducted by researchers regarding "Interpersonal Communication of Mountain Gold Basketball Coaches and Players in Building Motivation and Achievement", researchers can draw conclusions that interpersonal communication can help coaches in training and developing the achievements of Mountain Gold Timika basketball players.

Abstract

Podcasts, a rapidly evolving form of audio content distribution via the internet, are experiencing significant growth. Spotify is a frequently utilized platform for podcasts, such as Podkesmas, a content creator promoting itself as "Always funny and full of laughter". Podkesmas is strategically working to expand its listener base. Through qualitative descriptive research, the study comprehensively outlines the strategies and concepts implemented by Podkesmas to captivate its audience. The primary data collected from in-depth interviews and secondary data from documents and literature underscore Podkesmas comprehensive approach, including program planning, production and procurement, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Additionally, Podkesmas effectively employs the S-T-P (Strategy, Targeting, Positioning) concept to attract listeners, exemplified by its inclusion in Spotify's prestigious exclusive podcasts.

Abstract

The meeting between President Jokowi and Minister of Defense Prabowo at a dinner on January 5 2024, is suspected of Jokowi's political neutrality in the 2024 presidential election which is increasingly being questioned. This issue of partiality has been widely reported by online media, one of which is Tempo.co. The news selection was chosen on 5 - 7 January 2024 with the consideration that at that time the third presidential candidate debate would be held on 7 January 2024. So, the momentum of Jokowi and Prabowo's dinner was allegedly a form of covert support from President Jokowi for the presidential candidate Prabowo who will face the debate. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a constructivist paradigm. Researchers framed news about Jokowi and Prabowo's dinner on Tempo.co using Robert N Entman's framing analysis method. The results of this research show that Tempo.co framed the issue of partiality in the 2024 presidential election in the Jokowi and Prabowo dinner news by reporting balanced information. This is proven by the existence of news information that contains pro and con parties in this report. This also shows that Tempo.co strives to maintain neutral news balance and has implemented Bill Kovach's journalistic elements of broadcasting comprehensive and proportional news.

Abstract

The Influence of Wensen School Indonesia's Instagram Content on Brand Image Andini Amelia CG191120543 The phenomenon of branding in Indonesia at this time has begun to shift, because the intended target consumer comes more from social media. The use of social media to improve brand image is considered appropriate through interaction with the audience on the content it creates. Many schools in Indonesia have used Instagram social media to create a brand image, one of which is a school called Wensen School Indonesia. Instagram is used by Wensen School Indonesia to upload photos and videos of various activities, and programs that are being run, as well as create interesting content to build a good view for followers. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine and analyze how much influence Instagram content has on the brand image of Wensen School Indonesia. This type of research uses quantitative descriptive method of distributing questionnaires online to Instagram followers @wensenschoolindonesia. The results of this study showed that with a sample of 100 followers, the output value of the coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.588 or 59.3%. This shows that wensen School Indonesia's Instagram content has an influence on brand image of 59.3% while 40.7% are influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This research is done with the purpose of analyzing the framing used by Fox News and CNN to frame the issue of the U.S. President, Donald Trump’s, interview with politics journalist, Bob Woodward, for his new book, “Rage”, which discusses the president’s downplay on the COVID-19 pandemic. The theory used in this research are Agenda Setting theory from Maxwell McCombs-Donald Shaw, and Propaganda theory from Harold Lasswell. This research will also use the study of hermeneutics as its research model. To collect data, Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis modelwill be used. As for the result of this research, it is discovered that FoxNewsdan CNNeach uses a different set off raming to frame President Donald Trump regarding news about COVID-19 in the United States. The frame used is especially heavier on news broadcasting of the downplay issue found in the Bob Woodward interview tapes. Fox News tend to defend President Donald Trump’s act of downplay, in order to protect his image. The media also constantly credits the president’s success on handling the COVID-19 pandemic. CNN on the other hand, is keen to expose the president’s carelessness and negligence in handling the pandemic, by bringing to light the false statements he made in the interview with Bob Woodward.

Abstract

Berkembangnya berbagai bentuk teknologi informasi tentunya sangat membantu masyarakat dalam mendapatkan berbagai bentuk informasi melalui media sosial. Hal ini ditandai dengan muculnya media instagram sebagai media yang paling populer dikalangan masyarakat. Instagram dijadikan media publikasi paling efektif untuk digunakan. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui perancanaan dari kegiatan publikasi yang dilakukan oleh Instagram @kuansingbacarito dalam mempublikasikan sejarah mendulang peradaban di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah wawancara dan melakukan observasi melalui analisis akun official Instagram @Kuangsingbacarito. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwasanya instagram @kuansingbacarito dalam publikasinya banyak menggunakan pilihan kalimat persuasif dengan bahasa yang ringkas dan sederhana sehingga masyarakat mudah mengerti. Kemudian beberapa makna pada gambar postingan yang dibagikan dikemas dengan sebaik mungkin serta membuat press release sebagai acuan informasi. Namun hal itu instagram @kuansingbacarito belum memanfaatkan banyak fitur yang disediakan instagram dalam memberikan informasi terkait sejarah maupun budaya, dan juga terhadap sejarah Mandulang Peradaban yang ada di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi.

Abstract

Social media is media created to facilitate communication for humans. Twitter is one of the social media that is currently used by many people, not only to communicate but also to write opinions, to news. Fans as a community gather online through social media Twitter. These fans are joined in a community for the presence of a brand. Indonesia is ranked 1st as a country that talks about K-Pop on Twitter the most. Apart from talking about K-Pop, Twitter users also talk about other music genres such as Korean Hip-Hop. Base on social media Twitter, is an account that accommodates people who have the same interests to share information and communicate. The purpose of this study is to find out how social media Twitter becomes a medium of communication for fans of Korean Hip-Hop music. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. The data analysis technique used in this study was by conducting interviews with six informants and one triangulator. The results of the study show that through User- Generated Content it produces an active community of Korean Hip-Hop music fans on the @khhfess account. That way the role of fans on the @khhfess account is very influential in the growth of the Korean Hip-Hop community on Twitter. This proves that Twitter social media can be the right communication medium for a community to discuss and share information.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of financial difficulties faced by a number of students in continuing higher education. BEMP IKOM UNJ as a student organization took the initiative to conduct the #TanganMas Campaign through Instagram social media to invite students to donate to help colleagues who have difficulty paying tuition fees. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the #TanganMas Campaign on the participation of UNJ Communication Science students Class of 2020 in donating. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The study population was all 82 active students of the UNJ Communication Science study program class of 2020. The sampling technique used saturated sampling, so that all members of the population became the research sample. Data was collected by distributing online questionnaires. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the #TanganMas Campaign had a significant effect on student participation in donating, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The magnitude of the influence of the #TanganMas Campaign on Student Participation was 46.5%. It can be concluded that creative digital media-based campaigns carried out by student organizations have proven to be effective in encouraging student participation in social issues in the campus environment.

While in the aspect of sending and receiving messages,theintensityoftheprocessofexchanginginformation,competence,namelyopennessincommunication,noisefromdisturbancesinthecommunicationprocess,theenvironmentalcontextinthecommunicationprocess,theimpactofeffectsthatoccurafterthecommunicationprocess,andethicalattitudesincommunicating,arestillnotwellestablishedsothathinderthecommunicationprocess.
