Abstract

This research aims to analyze and understand the application of innovative communication in public services in Beji District, Depok City. A qualitative approach was used with data collection methods through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The collected data was analyzed systematically to gain an in-depth understanding of relevant aspects of innovation communication in the context of public services in Beji District. The research results show that there are several innovative communication initiatives that have been implemented in public services in Beji District, such as the use of social media, mobile applications, and providing information online. This innovative communication helps increase accessibility, transparency and public participation in obtaining information and utilizing public services. However, there are challenges that need to be overcome, such as the lack of public awareness of these innovative initiatives. Therefore, further efforts are needed to increase public understanding and participation in the communication of innovation in public services. This research makes an important contribution to the understanding of innovation communication in the context of public services at the local level and can be a basis for the development of more effective communication strategies in the future

Abstract

The victory of Barack Obama in using the internet and social media to win the presidential election attracted the attention of many politicians around the world to use the internet and social media in politics. This has also attracted the attention of politicians in Indonesia to use social media to build image and voters’ participation. One of the politicians who used social media was Deddy Mizwar, namely during his time as deputy governor and when he was a candidate for governor. This study was aimed to find out the branding image built by Deddy Mizwar on the @Deddy_Mizwar Instagram account, and how he interacted with his followers. The method used was quantitative analysis with purposive sampling. This study found that Deddy Mizwar is a leader who has serving character, competent and commendable integrity.

Abstract

Apart from implementing appropriate strategies to increase understanding of the risks of COVID-19 and how to reduce the risks, COVID-19 communication risk requires various efforts to foster public interest and willingness to carry out COVID-19 risk reduction behaviors by implementing health protocols and vaccination.By using the Extended Parallel Process Model (EPPM) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), this research explores and analyzes the risk communication strategy of the PKMM-CBA LPBI NU program in increasing public understanding and awareness of the risks of COVID-19 and efforts to reduce them in Metatu & Punduttrate Village, Benjeng District, Gresik Regency, East Java Province, accompanied by disclosure of factors that encourage people to take actions to reduce risks.The research results show that in addition to appropriate risk communication strategies, there is a need to provide facilities and support to foster public interest and willingness to comply with health protocols aswell as community social awareness to remind each other about compliance with COVID-19 health protocols and also vaccination.

Abstract

In an increasingly competitive world, personal branding is not only applicable to celebrities or famous entrepreneurs. Everyone, from professionals to students, can take steps to build their own positive image. Personal branding helps to differentiate oneself from others, strengthen reputation, and influence how others perceive us. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of Rachel Vennya's Personal Branding on the Instagram account @temanbaik.rachelvennya towards Social Campaign interest. This research uses a quantitative associative research method, using data collection techniques through questionnaires, documentation, and literature study. The results of this study indicate that with a sample of 100 followers, it shows that the Personal Branding variable has a strong and positively patterned relationship with the Social Campaign interest variable. The results of the coefficient of determination testing show that Rachel Vennya's personal branding on the Instagram account @temanbaik.rachelvennya has an influence on social campaign interest.

Abstract

Communication is a key factor in the effective delivery of messages. Therefore,every individual must possess the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.Public speaking is one form of effective communication that requires specificskills. A lack of communication skills can hinder an individual's confidence whenspeaking in public. Public speaking is often called "pidato" (speech) in Indonesian.A speech involves delivering ideas or thoughts to an audience using clear, polite,and understandable language. The ability to speak in public should be cultivatedfrom an early age, especially during schooling, so that students develop confidencein expressing their opinions. Self-confidence is the belief in one’s abilities,enabling individuals to remain unaffected by the opinions of others and to act inalignment with their desires while maintaining happiness, optimism, tolerance, andresponsibility. The purpose of this study is to examine the role of public speakingtraining in fostering self-confidence among students, particularly those at SMAN 7Bekasi who have participated in public speaking training. This research employs aqualitative approach and is based on field research. Data were gathered throughdirect observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis of books andjournals relevant to the topic. The research was conducted between March andMay 2024. The findings of this study indicate that public speaking training plays asignificant role in enhancing students' self-confidence. This is evident from thepositive changes reported by students after attending the training, includingincreased courage to speak in front of an audience, reduced fear, and a noticeableboost in self-confidence

Abstract

Political parties are an absolute requirement for Indonesian people who want to take part in the five-year political constellation called the General Election (PEMILU). Because to become a legislative member or to be elected President and Vice President, one must go through a Political Party in accordance with Indonesian laws and regulations. The Kebangkitan Bangsa Party (PKB) is one of the political parties in Indonesia.   Established in 1998, PKB has played an important role in the political arena in Indonesia. Since the era of President Abdurahman Wahid (Gus Dur) did not become President in 2001, PKB has continued to play an important role in Indonesia's political system until finally in the 2024 Election, the Chairman of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar participated as one of a Vice Presidential Candidate. This makes researchers want to examine more deeply what strategic changes occurred in the PKB in 2024 when compared to the 2019 elections. This research aims to provide insights and information about changes in communication strategies that occur in the PKB in facing the 2024 Election. The fact findings obtained from this research are that some of the usual approaches are tried to be more improvised in accordance with the times, plus the use of more active media and changing the face of PKB into a party that is more open to accepting various groups to become PKB members. This research uses a qualitative methodology that focuses on literature searches, direct interviews with officials at the Central Leadership Council of the National Awakening Party and also interviews with members of the DPR RI from the PKB faction whose membership in the party has been more than 15 years serving in the PKB so that the information becomes accurate and confirmed.

Abstract

The process of forming social identity does not occur automatically; it isinfluenced by various factors, one of which is communication within the family.Family communication plays a crucial role in shaping children's social identity.Through effective communication, families can help children develop self-confidence, social skills, and an understanding of the norms of social life. Thisresearch aims to analyze the role of family communication in the formation ofchildren's social identity, identify factors that influence the effectiveness ofcommunication within the family, and provide practical recommendations forparents and educators in supporting the development of children's social identitythrough effective communication. The research employs a qualitative approach.The findings indicate that the social identity of children in Kertajaya Village,Padalarang District, West Bandung, is shaped by traditional family structures, theparents' profession—primarily as teachers—and daily interactions that includesocial support, empathy, and openness. Parents' roles as teachers enable them toeducate their children both at school and at home, integrating educational valuesand discipline into the household.

Abstract

The ineffectiveness of the communication process has led to the public misconception that the Kampung Sedekah program is an initiative established by Susukan Village, in fact it is a program run by the Ngider Indonesia Charity Foundation. This study aims to identify and analyze the communication strategy used in the Kampung Sedekah program, employing the persuasive communication strategy theory proposed by Melvin L. DeFleur and Sandra J. Ball-Rokeach, which includes psychodynamic strategies, sociocultural persuasion, and meaning construction. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizingin-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis for data collection. The findings show that the Ngider Indonesia Charity Foundation implements three communication strategies aligned with the persuasive communicationtheory. Challenges in the persuasive communication and socialization processes are primarily due to the lack of trust from local officials in the Kampung Sedekah program and the absence of direct community engagement by the foundation. To address these issues, the foundation should engage directly with the community, carefully considering the appropriate timing and venue for socialization efforts, and facilitate regular meetings between the foundation and the community to foster good relations and establish effective communication.

Abstract

Bullying at school has become a serious problem that affects students' psychological and academic development. This phenomenon can cause various negative impacts, including decreased academic performance, increased stress levels, anxiety, and depression. This research aims to explore various communication strategies used by teachers in dealing with bullying at school. The method used in this research is qualitative research using a constructivist paradigm to understand and construct teacher communication strategies in overcoming bullying in the PGRI 7 Jakarta school environment. The research results show that teacher communication strategies at SMP PGRI 7 Jakarta have a central role in preventing bullying by implementing a holistic approach. First, build a positive school culture. Second, increase supervision through routine patrols. Third, openness in communication. Fourth, build personal relationships with students. Fifth, build communication with parents through regular meetings. By implementing this strategy comprehensively, teachers at SMP 7 PGRI Jakarta succeeded in creating a harmonious learning environment, free from bullying, and providing maximum support for students' overall development.
