Abstract

AI-based recommender systems are widely implemented in e-commerce and digital platforms due to their ability to provide relevant and personalized recommendations. However, a key challenge in sustaining their adoption is establishing user trust, as limited trust can reduce continued usage intentions. This study investigates the effects of interactivity and personalization on intention to use, with trust as a mediating variable. A quantitative correlational approach was applied using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected from 170 Universitas Kuningan students who actively used recommender-based applications such as Shopee, Tokopedia, Netflix, and Spotify. The findings indicate that interactivity (β = 0.059; p = 0.493) and personalization (β = 0.210; p = 0.053) do not directly influence intention to use. Nevertheless, both interactivity (β = 0.233; p = 0.003) and personalization (β = 0.571; p < 0.001) significantly affect trust. Furthermore, trust has a strong positive impact on intention to use (β = 0.525; p < 0.001) and significantly mediates the relationships between interactivity and personalization with intention to use. The model explains 55.4% of the variance in trust and 53.7% in intention to use. These results emphasize trust as a critical mechanism linking user experience to continued use of AI-based recommender systems.

Abstract

Online shopping has become an essential part of modern society. Various e-commerce platforms have emerged offering a wide range of products, yet most still focus primarily on selling new items. In fact, there is a growing need for a platform that can accommodate both new and used goods transactions within a single, user-friendly application. Moreover, many existing platforms lack direct integration with instant messaging services such as WhatsApp, resulting in delayed transaction information and potentially leading to miscommunication. To address these challenges, a mobile-based e-commerce application was developed using Flutter as the frontend framework, Flask as the backend API, and MySQL as the database. The main advantage of this application lies in its automatic WhatsApp integration, which enables real-time transaction notifications. Testing results show that the application functions properly and remains stable. The main features include registration, login, product addition, and product listing, along with additional features such as favorites marking, live streaming, and automatic WhatsApp notifications. This application is expected to serve as an effective solution to overcome current platform limitations and to support efficient and convenient buying and selling of both new and used goods.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the major public health problems with a continuously increasing prevalence and is widely discussed on social media platform X. The dynamic and continuously flowing nature of social media data requires a Big Data-based processing approach capable of operating in real-time and in a scalable manner. This study aims to implement a streaming-based Big Data architecture (Kappa Architecture) using Apache Kafka and Apache Spark to process and analyze conversations about hypertension on the social media platform X in real-time. The proposed system integrates the X API as the data source, Apache Kafka as the immutable event log and streaming backbone, Apache Spark Structured Streaming as the real-time data processing engine, and MongoDB as the serving layer. The research methodology includes a literature review, system design, streaming-based data collection, real-time text cleaning and feature extraction, and performance evaluation using throughput, latency, and success rate parameters. A total of 10,000 tweets were collected over a two-month period and processed through a unified streaming pipeline. The implementation results show that the system successfully established a consistent end-to-end processing workflow, enabling real-time data ingestion and processing without separating batch and speed layers. The system achieved an average throughput of 19.23 tweets per second, a latency of approximately 520 seconds, and a success rate of 100%. This study concludes that the Kappa Architecture is effective, stable, and scalable for real-time processing and analysis of social media data in monitoring public health issues such as hypertension.

Abstract

Calibration of testing equipment is an integral part of public service, based on the Regulation of the Director General of Land Transportation No. SK2405/AJ.402/DRDJ/2014 concerning Standard Operational Procedures for the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Equipment Calibration. The motorized vehicle testing equipment that must be calibrated includes CO/HC emission testers, smoke thickness testers, headlight testers, brake testers, weight testers, sound level testers, front wheel toe-in/side slip testers, glass darkness testers, and speedometer testers. The side slip tester plays a crucial role in assessing vehicle durability and comfort. Currently, the calibration of side slip testers is performed using manual methods. This approach can lead to suboptimal calibration accuracy and a longer execution time. Consequently, this research focuses on the design and construction of a new calibration tool specifically for the side slip tester. The development of a microcontroller-based side slip tester calibration tool provides a significant improvement over the manual method. This new tool offers several advantages, including easier operation, a reduced need for personnel, and enhanced time efficiency. The implementation of this calibration tool is expected to lead to a significant performance improvement in the calibration process of side slip testers.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in military applications has raised a range of ethical and governance concerns, particularly regarding the use of Autonomous Weapon Systems (AWS) in making lethal decisions without direct human involvement. While these developments offer strategic advantages, they also introduce significant challenges in ensuring accountability, transparency, and compliance with international humanitarian law. This study aims to systematically examine and map the knowledge structure and global research trends related to ethical and governance issues of AI in the military domain. The research adopts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA protocol, combined with bibliometric analysis of 469 articles published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis is conducted using VOSviewer to identify thematic clusters, relationships among research topics, and the overall density of scholarly discourse. The findings reveal seven major thematic clusters, including ethical foundations and human-centric approaches, operational systems and decision-making, robotics and autonomous systems, military applications and strategy, governance and regulatory frameworks, ethical principles and accountability, and technical foundations based on machine learning. Network visualization indicates that ethical issues are closely interconnected with governance as the central focus of the discourse, while density analysis shows that the terms “artificial intelligence,” “ethics,” and “application” dominate the research landscape. The study also highlights a gap between normative ethical frameworks and practical implementation in the development and deployment of AI in military contexts. Therefore, stronger governance frameworks are required to ensure accountability and compliance with international regulations. This research contributes by mapping current research directions and identifying future research opportunities, particularly in developing more adaptive and context-aware AI governance approaches.

Abstract

The aplousing and maintenance activities of Shipping Navigation Assistance Facilities (SBNP) in the work area of the Tanjung Perak Type A Navigation District provide high efficiency in fuel use and travel time while minimizing the impact of environmental pollution. However, the shipping route so far has not been optimal, resulting in longer mileage, requiring excess fuel consumption and increased exhaust emissions. This study aims to optimize shipping routes through the application of the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) algorithm. The two approaches used are Heuristic Nearest Neighbor and Brute Force with case studies on 11 port points and islands in the waters of East Java. The simulation results showed that the Brute Force approach produced the most optimal route with a total distance of ±1,095.94 km more efficient than the Nearest Neighbor ±1,110.33 km and the initial route without optimization of ±1,284.3 km. This reduction in mileage has a positive impact on fuel savings, shipping time and reducing exhaust emissions. This study proves that the application of the TSP algorithm is able to increase operational efficiency and has the potential to be the basis for the development of technology-based decision-making support systems in environmentally friendly shipping route management.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize routes to improve fuel efficiency and voyage time, as well as reduce environmental pollution from state ship operations in Aplousing and Navigation Aid Maintenance (SBNP) activities in the working area of the Tanjung Perak Type A Class I Navigation District. To achieve this objective, the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) algorithm was applied to determine the shortest route connecting 11 port locations and islands in the waters of East Java. Two algorithmic approaches proposed in this study are the Heuristic Nearest Neighbor and Brute Force methods. Simulation results show that the Brute Force approach produces the most optimal route with a total distance of ± 1,095.94 km, which is more efficient than the Heuristic Nearest Neighbor approach at ± 1,110.33 km and the initial route without optimization at ± 1,284. The reduction in distance traveled has a positive impact on reducing fuel consumption, sailing time, and exhaust emissions. This study demonstrates that the application of the TSP algorithm can improve operational efficiency in shipping and can serve as a foundation for developing technology-based decision support systems for more environmentally friendly shipping route management.
