Abstract

Education is a process of change or personal development of the students in all aspects of life, forming a complete personality (Insan Kamil) either as social beings, as well as individual beings, so that they can adapt and live in the wider community well, including being responsible to yourself, others, and God. Character education is a system of cultivation of character values that include components of knowledge, awareness or willpower, and actions to implement these values, either against God, ourselves, and others, the environment. When character education is applied systematically and sustainably, a child will be better in emotional management. This emotional intelligence is an important provision in preparing children to meet the future, because someone more easily and successfully to face all kinds of life challenges, including the challenge to succeed academically. This paper elaborates character education in the perspective of the Quran as a holy book of Muslims.

Abstract

Constructivist approach in cooperative learning model can encourage students to be able to build knowledge together in a group. They are encouraged to find and construct the material being studied through discussion, observation or experiment. Students interpret together what they found or they were discussed. In this way, the subject matter can be built together and not as a transfer of a teacher. Knowledge formed together based on experience and interaction with the environment in the study group, causing mutual enrichment among group members. Students are also able to build and maintain trust, open to receive and impart opinions and ideas, willing to share information and resources, would give support to others with sincerity. Students are also able to lead and skillfully manage the controversy into a problem solving situation, criticize ideas, not a personal one. This cooperative learning model can be implemented properly if one can improve the learning environment that enables among students and between students and teachers feel free opinion and ideas, as well as free in assessing and exploring important topics in the curriculum. Teachers can ask questions or problems that must be solved in the group. Students strive to think hard and discuss each other in the group. Then the teacher and other students can pursue their opinion about his ideas and different perspectives. Teachers also encourage students to be able to demonstrate understanding of the problem issues that were examined by way of the group.

Abstract

Character comes from the Latin word chiseled. However, it differs from the Greek, which means Karasso blueprint, the basic format prints, such as the fingerprint. This terminology usually refers to an idealist-spiritualist approach in education, it’s known as normative educational theory. The priorities are transcendent values as the motor of history, both for individuals and for social change. National Education Act states clearly that a noble character is an important aspect in educating children. Even the character of a nation is determined by the character of his people. In addition, Formation of character would be attempt to the shape of character. Character education is the provision of views on various values of life, such as honesty, intelligence, caring, responsibility, truth, beauty, goodness, and faith. Thus, character-based education can integrate information obtained during the study to be a way of life that is useful for reduction of life issue. Character-based education will demonstrate its identity as a self-conscious human beings, human beings and citizens.

Abstract

Islamic education philosophy is an educational philosophy based on Quran and al-Sunnah as a source of Islamic teachings. In addition, Islamic education philosophy also adopts sources from others that are not contrary to Islamic teachings. Thus, the source of guidance for Islamic education philosophy consists of two categories: the source of normative and historical sources. Normative sources are sources derived from the Quran and al-Sunnah (nash); while the historical source is a thought about the philosophy of Islamic education adopted from outside of Islamic teachings. Thus, there are three schools in the philosophy of Islamic education: the liberal, conservative, and critical groups that combine the two earlier groups (sholih li kulli zaman wa makan). This paper will discuss the subject matter of Islamic education philosophy and the sources of the three groups of flow by discussing the elements contained in the teachings of Islam, such as God, man, and nature. The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding that the basic principles contained therein can be applied in Islamic education.

Abstract

Lesbi is one of the small parts of social community. Many of ordinary people do not want to know and understand them. People perception shows that it is social human life. In fact, the lesbians want to exist and express into group social community and make it as a place for accommodating their needs. Nowadays, with facebook, they can communicate fast and easily to their friends in sharing information also to introduce and look for a partner. They realize that as human being they have same need to be fulfilles and can be accepted into social community. Political and legal realities in Indonesia are seen differently by each individual. There is a view that politics and law (the wheels of government) has been running well. There is also a view that politics and law are still very less in implementation. This situation makes the emergence of many forms of resistance (opposition expression) that is delivered by the community. This resistance statement is conveyed through the hard form or known by the demonstration that will bring unrest, or in a subtle form, namely in the arts. The song is born as a form of articulation that society has not been exposed to the public. What the public has perceived only in community conversation without the realization to submit to the competent authorities such as government and the police. In Madrasah of Gontor there is problem about this discourse. So, this article describes it.

Abstract

Multiculturalism is a tool, vehicle or the equivalent notion of ideology, function to enhance human dignity. Since multiculturalism is a tool then the sense of culture or ideology embodied in the term multiculturalism should be viewed from the perspective of function for human life. Multiculturalism has always been built on basis of philosophical outlook of a nation on the meaning of life and life, and relationships with environment as well as the creator. Then every nation in giving practical meaning of multiculturalism will be colored by its philosophical outlook. The multicultural education paradigm led to the creation of attitudes of learners who want to appreciate, respect for ethnic, religious and cultural society. Then, too, multicultural education gives awareness to students that differences in ethnicity, religion and culture as well as the other does not become a barrier for students to unite and cooperate. Thus, Pancasila as an ideology of education is needed, especially considering the posture of Indonesia in the form of an archipelago, and pluralistic world is at a cross position. This article describes multicultural education in Ponpes Nurul Jadid East Java.

Abstract

Educational development should anticipate global tendency that will happen. Some trends can be identified, namely: (1) the process of investment and reinvestment, (2) the development of industry, communications and information, (3) a shift of education from back to basic to forward to future basics, which relies on improving the ability of TLC ( How to think, how to learn, and how to create), (4) the development and spreading the idea of democratization that gave rise to the demands of the implementation of school based management and site-specific solution, and (5) requires the way to solve the problem in analysis system, which not only rely on the analysis of cause and effect. The trends mentioned above requires a different quality of human resources with a quality that is today. So the question that is arises is whether our education produces graduates with adequate quality

Abstract

Religious mental development of the student is not started at Islamic boarding school (pesantren), but family. The family plays a very dominant. The child is born into the world begin to receive education and up bringing-educational treatments, starting from his parents, then from another family, all of which provide the basics of personality formation. The coaching of personality is supplemented and enhanced by Islamic boarding school. Religion becomes the controlling moral for someone. The religion should be included in the development of his personality and an inseparable element in personal integrity. If not included in his personal coaching, then the religious knowledge that will accomplish is science (science) who does not share control of behavior and attitude in life. Then will we will get intelligent people who are talking about the laws and the rules of religion, but not compelled to comply. The religious sense does not necessarily encourage people to act in accordance with that understanding. Maybe it happens and will look familiar, if we understand the dynamics of life and drives for every action. An action or attitude is the result of co-operation of all functions of the soul, which is covered in it understanding, feelings and habits. Similarly with religion, it will be a mental controller, if understood, perceived and familiarized (rational, emotional, and practiced).

Abstract

This paper discusses the increasing students’ learning motivation using a new learning model known as jigsaw learning on the subject of the Quran Hadith. The results of this study shows that the jigsaw method can foster students' learning motivation by itself, because in this study it provides an opportunity for all students to be actively involved in the thinking process and learning activities. By providing many opportunities for students to actively learn the group in memorizing short letters to make the students' ability to read and memorize to be good because there is a process of brainstorming and complementary reading and memorizing students.

Abstract

This study is designed to improve the students’ reading comprehension ability through webbing strategy. It is conducted in order to find a strategy of teaching and learning that occurs, especially, in the teaching of reading skills. The strategy is selected because it is believed to be able to stimulate or activate the students to be more involved in the reading activities and to facilitate the students to comprehend the texts, especially expository texts. Thus, this study is directed to solve practical problems in the teaching and learning process. The research problem is formulated as follows: “How is the reading comprehension ability of the fourth semester students in school. Listening is one of the skills that are badly needed for everyone including those who are studying English. It is due to the fact that they spend much of their time in school listening. Besides, research demonstrate that people spend 60% of their time listening. Yet, students have not got good result yet in the subject of Listening Comprehension. This study is conducted to answer the research problem that is “Is there any effect of applying dictogloss on students’ Listening Comprehension achievement”? Thus, it is intended to obtain reliable information whether there is a significant difference in the students’ Listening Comprehension between the Experimental Group and the Control Group. This article describes about that.
