Abstract

Drug management in hospital is one of important hospital management especially in the planning and procurement stages. Inefficiency can induce bad condition on hospital, both medically and economically. This study was conducted to describe procurement of drugs for public patients in Sukoharjo Regional General Hospital. These stages were chosen because of the success of the drug planning and procurement will greatly determine the quality of the service at the Pharmacy Installation of Hospital.This is non-experimental research with descriptive designs. Data were collected concurently and retrospectively in Sukoharjo Regional General Hospital, a primary and secondary data. Primary data were obtained at the time of the study by conducting in-depth interviews, and secondary data obtained by tracking the documents prior year.  The result of this study showed the percentage of available fund compared on total needed fund 96.16% and the percentage of drug items held with the planned was 82.16%, the procurement frequency of each drug item was 1-6 times in annual, drug invoice failure frequency was four times of 41 samples, and the frequency rate of delayed in payment by the hospital to the time agreed was 36.45 days.

Abstract

Ceremai leaf (Phyllanthus acidus (L.) Skeels) is the one of the potential plant which contain flavonoid that had antibacterial activity. Carbopol is a gelling agent that is easily dispersible in water and provide consistency to the gel, while the glycerin is a humectant that can improve the softness of the gel. Carbopol can provide viscosity / hardness in the gel it is necessary to combine with glycerin to soften the gel and the increase of the spread The aims of this research to know the optimum composition from carbopol and gliserol in antiseptic gel formulation of ceremai leaf ethanol extract by Simplex Lattice Design (SLD). The method of extraction used maseration method with ethanol 70 % solvent. extract made of gel with components carbopol 940(0-100%) and glycerin(0-100%) with respond criteria physical properties such as pH, spreadability, sticking and protection power. The optimum formulated based on Simplex Lattice Design was the combination of carbopol 50 % : glycerol 50 %. Optimum results are obtained gel has a good physical properties. The test results showed that the effectiveness of antiseptic hand gels have generated a good antiseptic. Acceptability test results showed that the gel can be accepted by society.

Abstract

Pangan berpengaruh terhadap kesehatan tubuh, sehingga pangan dapat mencegah dan mengobati penyakit seperti penyakit diabetes melitus. Pencegahan dan pengobatan diabetes melitus salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan biji labu kuning (Cucurbita moschata Duch). Kandungan biji labu kuning kaya akan protein, rendah lemak dan kalori. Protein biji labu kuning dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai diet hipoglikemik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas pemberian diet pakan ekstrak biji labu kuning terhadap peningkatan berat badan mencit dan untuk mengetahui aktivitas hipoglikemiknya pada mencit diabetes melitus terpapar streptozotocin. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan desain penelitian post test only control group design. Mencit sebanyak 21 ekor dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok, kelompok I sebagai kontrol normal, kelompok II sebagai kontrol diabetes, kelompok III sebagai kontrol diabetes diberi metformin, kelompok IV-VI sebagai kelompok perlakuan diet pakan ekstrak biji labu kuning dengan konsentrasi 10%, 20%, dan 40%. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap pengukuran  berat badan dan kadar glukosa darah. Data hasil penelitian dilakukan analisis statistik menggunakan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian diet pakan ekstrak biji labu kuning konsentrasi 10% berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan berat badan mencit sebanyak 0,25 gram serta lebih efektif menurunkan kadar glukosa darah sebanyak -29,25 mg/dl. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian diet pakan ekstrak biji labu kuning berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan berat badan dan penurunan glukosa darah mencit diabet terpapar streptozotocin.

Abstract

The main focus of the research is cancer by a viral infection such as nasopharinx and cervical cancer that have high incidence in Indonesia. Cervical cancer is due to the viral infection known as the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and nasopharing cancer is a cancer that is caused by EBV infection (Eppstein Barr virus). The main priority of nasopharinx  and servix cancer treatment is the use of chemotherapeutic agents, but it might also lead to diverse side-effects. The focus of this study was to develop the potency of non polar fraction from Annona muricata L. leaves by observing the cytotoxic effect on Hela and Raji cancer cell line.

Abstract

Pembangunan di bidang kesehatan dipengaruhi pertumbuhan penduduk. Provinsi Jawa Barat memiliki populasi penduduk terbanyak di Indonesia. Upaya pemerintah menekan laju pertumbuhan penduduk ialah melalui optimalisasi penggunaan kontrasepsi pada program Keluarga Berencana (KB). Metode kontrasepsi terbanyak di Jawa Barat, khususnya Kota Bandung dengan KB oral dan KB suntik. Optimalisasi kinerja tenaga kesehatan diperlukan agar mampu memberikan informasi yang relevan kepada akseptor KB untuk meningkatkan kepatuhan. Interprofessional Education (IPE) merupakan satu upaya mewujudkan program pelayanan KB yang berkualitas, melalui peningkatan kompetensi pelayanan KB. Kolaborasi interprofesi diharapkan mampu memberikan peningkatan kompetensi, sikap, dan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan untuk bekerjasama secara efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat pengetahuan tenaga kesehatan (apoteker, asisten apoteker, dokter, perawat, bidan, dan Sarjana Kesehatan Masyarakat) di Puskesmas yang bertanggungjawab dan berkaitan langsung dalam pelayanan KB dan Petugas Lapangan KB (PLKB) penanggungjawab di tingkat kecamatan terkait obat kontrasepsi oral dan suntik serta mengevaluasi persepsi tenaga kesehatan terhadap IPE di kota Bandung. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimental tipe one group pre-post test design. Hasil analisis menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan tenaga kesehatan, sebanyak 5 orang mengalami penurunan, 152 orang mengalami peningkatan dan 4 orang tidak mengalami perubahan. Sedangkan hasil analisis mengenai persepsi tenaga kesehatan terhadap IPE, sebanyak 22 orang mengalami penurunan, 114 orang mengalami peningkatan, dan 25 orang tidak mengalami perubahan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah IPE Focus Group Discussion secara signifikan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan tenaga kesehatan tentang KB oral dan suntik serta secara signifikan meningkatkan persepsi untuk berkolaborasi antar profesi.

Abstract

Several studied shows that some plants and part of them could protect human body from oxidation of lipid and free radical danger exposure. Various possibilities can occur as a result of the free radical danger exposure, including malfunctioning of cells, damage cell structures, until the occurrence of cancer. One of the compounds found effication as an antioxidant is flavonoid. This study has been done to examine ethyl ascetate fraction from Phaseolus vulgaris L., N. lappaceum L., andPleurotus ostreatus which has potency as radical scavenger. Antiradical activity assay was determined by DPPH method (1,1 difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil). Based on the study the radical scavenging activity respectively from the lowest to the highest activity are vitamin C (5,4 µg/ml) ; fraction from Nephelium lappaceum L (21,81µg/ml) ; fraction from Phaseolus vulgaris L (50,64µg/ml) and Pleurotus ostreatus(80,51µg/ml).

Abstract

One of the plants which can produce antioxidants is the bay leaves (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp).  Generally, extract have big size molecule and low solubility. To overcome low solubility of extract, it was formulated into self microemulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDDS) using oil Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) as a carrier oil. This research, aims to produce mikrometer-sized emulsion and thus can be used at low dose in SMEDDS mikroemulsion preparation. And this research was conducted to determine the antioxidant activity of SMEDDS bay leaf extract.  Palm kernell oil is used because its suitable for SMEDDS and has medium chain trigliseride that can Increase drug transport through lymphatics thereby reducing first pass metabolism. Optimization of surfactant, cosurfactant and oil phase was determined with trial and error method. The results showed that the optimum SMEDDS formula was tween 80 : PEG 400 : Palm Kernell Oil (1,6 : 2,4 : 1) in 5 mL. SMEDDS extract of bay leaves had emulsification time 13.93 seconds, average of droplet size was 218,9 nm and polidisperse index 0,203. Morphological observation showed the mikroemulsion particles had spherical shaped. SMEDDS product of bay leaf extract has powerful antioxidant potential, the value of IC50 is  40,7177 ppm.

Abstract

Ibuprofen merupakan obat non-steroidal anti inflamantory derivat asam propionat yang mempunyai aktivitas antiinflamasi, analgesik dan antipiretik. Ibuprofen dibuat dalam bentuk sediaan transdermal patch untuk menghindari efek samping iritasi gastrointestinal dan first pass effect di hati pada penggunaan peroral. Komponen utama pada sediaan patch adalah polimer. Polimer menetukan dan mengontrol release zat aktif dari sediaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi polimer hidroksi propil metil selulosa (HPMC) dan carboxymethyl cellulose natrium (CMC-Na) terhadap sifat fisik sediaan matriks patch ibuprofen. Sediaan matriks patch ibuprofen dibuat dalam tiga formula dengan perbandingan polimer HPMC: CMC-Na yaitu 3:1, 1:1, dan 1:3. Analisa data dilakukan menggunakan uji One Way ANOVA untuk mengetahui perbedaan sifat fisik dari ketiga formula selama 4 minggu, dilanjutkan dengan uji post hoc untuk mengetahui formula yang memberikan perbedaan signifikan. Hasil analisa menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan konsentrasi polimer HPMC dan CMC-Na dalam sediaan matriks patch ibuprofen memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap sifat fisik sediaan patch meliputi ketebalan, bobot patch dan kandungan lembab (p<0,05). Konsentrasi optimum kombinasi HPMC dan CMC-Na sebagai polimer dalam sediaan matriks patch ibuprofen adalah dengan perbandingan (3:1) karena memiliki kelenturan, ketebalan, nilai pH dan kandungan lembab yang sesuai dengan persyaratan matriks patch yang baik.

Abstract

Combinations of HAART using 2 NRTIs plus NNRTIs or PIs (zidovudine, abacavir or tenofovir plus lamivudine, or emtricitabine plus tenofovir) are preferred treatment of HIV infection internationally and in Australia.Some antiretroviral should not be combined due to overlapping toxicities and potential viral antagonism (e.g. Atazanavir + indinavir, didanosine + stavudine). The challenges for treating HIV infection will be to reduce adverse effects, drug resistance, and increased options for treatment-experienced patients (HIV patient with previously treated using ARV).

Abstract

Pneumonia is lung inflammation, mostly caused by bacteria. Antibiotics are the primary therapy in cases of pneumonia due to bacteria. This study aimed to determine the profiles of pneumonia patients and their use of antibioticsin Surakarta referral hospital.Data were collected retrospectively by using patient's medical recordand prescription on 2014-2015. Subject were obtained by purposive sampling. Patients diagnosed  pneumonia with antibiotik  therapywere included while patient with comorbide other infection were excluded. The result showed that the most pneumonia patient were aged 0-5 years old (27,71%, female and the average length of stay 11 days)   The most single use antibiotik   in pediatric patients and adults was ceftriaxone (21.09% and 66.12% respectively) . The combination of antibiotics that were widely used in pediatric patients were ampicillin-gentamicin (39.27%), while in adult patients were ceftriaxone and azithromycin (26.97%).
