Abstract

LSLC was an innovative learning program. Much research has been done regarding the implementation of LSLC, but few have focused on its sustainability. This study aimed to discover the sustainability of LSLC in Batu City. This study was a quasi-research using multivariate multidimensional scaling analysis. The population used was all the piloting LS schools and LSLC experts from universities. The results obtained present a good result on the development side of students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Good development was revealed in the dimensions of pedagogic, competence, and commitment. In the subsidy and socio-cultural dimensions, shows unfavorable results and requires serious attention. It can be concluded that the sustainability of LSLC requires special attention to several dimensions. Therefore, various studies that can be focused on that dimension need to be done, so that the right model/solution can be found to ensure the sustainability.

Abstract

Learning outcomes have an important role in the learning process. This is because learning outcomes can be used as a benchmark to determine the extent to which students experience changes after receiving their learning experiences, are observed and measured in the form of knowledge, attitudes and skills. This study aims to analyze teaching skills and teacher learning interest towards historical learning outcomes. The research method used in this research is ex post fact, which means after the fact, by taking survey data. The population and sample in this study were high school students. In the data description analysis stage, the writer describes the problems related to student learning outcomes and the observation data of teacher teaching skills in the learning process. The correlation stage consists of the following steps: analysis prerequisite test and hypothesis testing. Based on the data analysis, the regression equation Y = 44.533 + 0.506 x was obtained, meaning that each addition of the teacher's teaching skills variable by one unit, the student learning outcomes variable increased by 0.506 units. So, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between teacher teaching skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate “Photo Math” in teaching Elementary Algebra.  Specifically, it aimed to identify the effect of teaching Elementary Algebra with the use of “Photo Math”. To achieved these objectives, the researchers used qualitative, quantitative and experimental design. This was conducted through a separate teaching demo in Elementary Algebra of the two Grade 7 sections. Pre-test was administered before the conduct of the demo and post-test after the teaching demo. The study showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of the section with “Photo Math” as intervention. Moreover, there was also a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of the section without the said application as intervention. However, it showed that there was no significant difference between the two section. The first section showed that there was an effect to the performance of the students when “Photo Math” was applied as teaching tool but it was not fully claimed when compared with the traditional method of teaching. This was because the sample size of the study is small so it was recommended to have a larger number of sample size to see the effect of “Photo Math” in teaching Elementary Algebra. The study implied that Photo math as a teaching tool had an effect on teaching elementary algebra.
