Abstract

Teachers still do not pay attention to the minimum standards or basic competencies that must be achieved by students, so that in making assessment questions it is not according to students' abilities and the achievement of basic competencies from the subject matter being studied. This study aims to develop an instrument for assessing mathematics learning outcomes for fourth-grade elementary school students. This type of research is development research. The model used in this study is using the ADDIE (analyze), (design), (development), (implementation), (evaluation) model. The subjects used were 2 mathematicians/experts and 30 students as respondents. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, interviews, document recording, tests. The research results will be analyzed for validity and reliability. Instruments that have been designed to collect data are then tested first to find out the validity of the instrument. The results showed that the number of valid items was 18 items that were declared valid and 2 items that were not valid. After that, a reliability test is carried out. In this reliability test, it can be done if the items are declared valid. Instrument reliability can be tested using the Kuder Richardson 20 (KR-20) formula with the help of the Microsoft Office Excel application. The results of the calculation of instrument reliability obtained r11 = 0.82 has a "very high" consistency. Thus, the instrument for assessing mathematics learning outcomes for fourth-grade elementary school students is valid and appropriate to be used as an instrument for assessing mathematics learning outcomes. This research implies that the instrument can be used as a guide for developing other assessment instruments and can help teachers understand how to make good questions so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally.

Abstract

Distance learning requires learning activities that focus on the use of technology, so we need a digital learning media that not only functions as an evaluation tool, but can also convey learning materials. This study aims to produce “METALIQ” which was developed on the topic of Ecosystems for the sixth-grade elementary school students. This research was a development research based on the ADDIE model procedure. The subject of this research was "METALIQ" with the topic Ecosystem for sixth grade elementary school students involving four lecturers as experts who assess the validity of the product content, two teachers who provide practitioner responses, and 10 sixth grade elementary school students filling out student responses. The object of research was the feasibility of "METALIQ" which is viewed from the content validity, practitioner responses, and student responses. The data collection methods in this study were observation, interviews, document studies, questionnaires and instruments rating scale. To measure the validity of the content of "METALIQ", the instrument was used rating scale, meanwhile to measure the responses of practitioners and students’ responses used a questionnaire. The learning media validity data obtained were then analyzed using the Aiken’s V formula to measure the content validity coefficient. The mean is an analysis to determine the average score of teacher responses and student responses. The results of the analysis of the validity of the “METALIQ” data for content experts were in the range of 0.75-1.00 and learning media experts were in the range of 0.625-1.00. This indicated that the content validity of “METALIQ” was high. The practitioner response test got an average score of 4.3, and the student response test got an average score of 4.55. This means that all aspects of the response test to “METALIQ” have very good qualifications. Based on this analysis, “METALIQ” in the science content of the Ecosystem topic was feasible for use in learning.

Abstract

There are still many students who have difficulty learning mathematics. It is because students feel that learning mathematics is complicated. This problem has an impact on low student learning outcomes. One way to make it easier for students to learn is to use an appropriate learning model. This study aims to compare and correlate student response variables in the student team achievement division learning model of block and cube material and student process skills. This type of research is quantitative experimental research by comparing four classes using process skills variables and student responses to student team learning outcomes. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 144 students from a population of two public elementary schools and two Islamic elementary schools. The technique used to collect data is a questionnaire. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire. The data analysis used was quantitative with the help of SPSS 25 statistics to find descriptive statistics, test assumptions, and test hypotheses. Based on the t-test, it is known that there are significant differences in students' process skills in each school and student responses to the Student team achievement division learning model on the volume of blocks and cubes in each school. Based on the correlation test, there is a relationship between students' process skills on student responses with the student learning model of team achievement division on the material of volume of blocks and cubes between schools.

Abstract

As one of the subjects in the national education curriculum, mathematics has an important role in human life. Mathematics is not only used as a reference for continuing higher education but is also used to support one's career. However, in reality, students still find it difficult to understand the material being studied, including understanding the problems in mathematics. This study aims to analyze the use of gestures in solving mathematical problems in group discussions. This research uses qualitative research and uses exploratory, descriptive research. The research subjects selected consisted of 2 students in the low group, two in the medium group, and two in the high group based on discussions with the subject teacher. The observed gesture is when students solve problems in groups. The results of data analysis show that the gestures made by students have several variations. Students in the high group performed more gestures such as pointing, writing, and representational gestures, and they understood the problem better. Representational gestures used by high-ability students can provide conceptual understanding to their groupmates, while those with moderate and low abilities in the discussion process of solving mathematical problems are still confused in representing the intent of their problem-s.

Abstract

Learning that is usually done face-to-face has turned into virtual face-to-face learning. This certainly raises various problems, including theaspect context concerning government policies in the field of education, theaspect input relating to online learning supporting infrastructure, the process aspect concerning the readiness of educators to conduct online learning, and theaspect product relating to student learning outcomes. Therefore, this research is very urgent to find out whether or not the implementation of online learning from the previously mentioned CIPP component is effective. It is important to do this as an evaluation material that the government can do regarding learning during the covid 19 pandemic. This research is an evaluation study using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The subjects studied in this study were 698 people from the total population of 3,334. The method of data collection in this study, using the non-test method by distributing closed questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics, then converted into Z scores and transformed into T scores. Based on the data analysis, the results showed that  the components of the context variable were effective, the input variables were less effective, the process variables were effective and the product variables were effective, so it can be concluded that the implementation of online learning is in quadrant II (second) or quite effective. Recommendations for further research are that it is necessary to improve indicators that have not been running well/effectively and to find solutions to various obstacles in online learning, so that the quality of online learning increases.
