Abstract

Changes in the curriculum and its tools require competent teachers to make lesson plans. Teachers also provide challenges as educational actors who internalize character values through lesson planning. This study aimed to analyze the reflection of character education carried out by teachers in learning planning. This study uses a descriptive quantitative design with a survey model to collect documents related to the object under study. The sampling method was used to determine the participants who found 11 people. Data collection was carried out using observation techniques using instruments containing a statement of the indicator numbers produced, valid for as many as 20 statement items. The data processing technique uses a parametric calculation application. The results showed that elementary school teachers' reflection of character education in lesson planning had been implemented to invite students' awareness in responding as much as 45.55%. The conclusions in this study indicate that the teacher's character has an important role to be used as an example in the inculcation of character values so that it is possible to apply character values in learning planning to make it easier for teachers to integrate character values in learning.

Abstract

Obstacles found during this learning process can come from the teacher, the school environment, or the students themselves. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause students to have learning difficulties. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were one principal, two teachers, and 20 students. This research uses interview, observation, and documentation data collection techniques. Data collection methods are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The study results are the difficulty factors experienced by students come from within and outside the students themselves. Inside students include the enthusiasm and interest of students in learning, student intelligence, student body, and mental conditions. From outside the students themselves, namely the student's environmental conditions, relationships with friends, parents, and teachers, classroom conditions, advice and infrastructure, learning media, and difficulties in learning materials. Two factors that cause students to experience learning difficulties greatly influence student learning success. Students who are in elementary school have not been able to overcome the problems experienced, therefore students need to get more attention from teachers and parents to overcome the learning difficulties they are experiencing.

Abstract

Expectations for qualified primary school teachers in Indonesia are very high. The public is aware that education in elementary schools is an essential part of introducing a scientific discipline to students, one of which is science. To provide optimal science learning, teachers must have qualified Science Content Knowledge (SCK) so that students have no misconceptions and confusion. This study aims to analyze the mastery of prospective SCK teachers on biology subjects at the elementary level. The research method in this study is a descriptive method using a survey design. Data were obtained from 284 primary school teacher education program participants at the end of the semester. The instrument is a multiple-choice test with four answer choices with 40 questions. The device was then given to the participants and analyzed by calculating the percentage and putting it into a predetermined category. This study found that the mastery of pre-service teacher SCK needs to be considered because the average category of understanding is in the "Very Poor" and "Less" types. This study suggests the need for a professional program for both teachers and pre-service teachers who can combine SCK and pedagogy so that the learning provided is more optimal and offers a good learning experience.
