Abstract

The foremost objective of the current study is examining the trade-off between environmental performance and cost performance in the presence of the sustainable supply chain. In particular the study has examined the impact of sustainable supply chain implantations namely sustainable procurement, sustainable distribution, sustainable production and sustainable reserve logistic on the cost and environmental performance. The study has broached the argument that the financial performance and profitability of a firm can be enhanced using SSCM activities or not. Research is limited in the context of developing economies. However, extensive research is available on developed economies. It is considerable to know about the influence of SSCM initiatives on the production sustainability in the developing countries. There is need to understand the relation between performance and SSCM initiatives among the firms in developing regions including Indonesia. There is need for creating a balance between economy and environment in these economies. Employing the survey-based methodology, the PLS-SEM technique is used to test the hypothesized relationships. So, current study has used PLS-SEM as statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in this study and research objectives envisaged in the current study. The findings of the study have provided support to the theoretical foundation and proposed hypothesis of the current study. Current study will be helpful for policymakers and practitioners in understanding the issues related to sustainable supply chain implementation and supply chain performance. In author knowledge this is among very few pioneering studies on this issue.

Abstract

In recent years, lean healthcare has been used by numerous scholars as a major trend for exploring the purpose of practicing lean healthcare in an operational context but apparently not considering the human or social factors. Furthermore, less studies have been conducted on how social or sociotechnical aspects of lean enables the achievement of sustainability in healthcare organizations, which also includes the three main pillars, namely economic, social, and environmental aspect. Therefore, this paper intended to examine the link between sociotechnical aspects of lean and sustainability in the healthcare sector. It also discussed theoretical approaches that explain these variables, namely Sociotechnical and Stakeholder theories. Finally, this paper has given important significance for academic researchers who intend to study the sociotechnical aspects of lean and sustainability as well as practitioners who deal with complex problems. Conclusions and future works are also included in this paper.

Abstract

The current study aims to assess the role of control mechanism in supply chain management and quality performance of the firms. For this purpose, the current study examines the impact of two control mechanisms named as “formal control” and “social control” on the internal supply chain management (SCM) of the firm. Furthermore, the current study investigates the influence caused by internal SCM on quality performance of the firm. To accomplish the objectives of the current study. The data was collected from 294 manufacturers of Thailand through questionnaire based survey study. The quantitative research methods was used to collect data about the formal control, social control, internal SCM and quality performance of the firm and the collected data was then put into analysis through SPSS and AMOS in which different key tests were applied to reach the acceptance or rejection of hypotheses. It is found through current study that control mechanisms have positive influence on internal SCM because the social control and formal control showed significant positive influence on internal SCM. It is further found in the current study that internal SCM has significant positive influence on quality performance so, the improved and effective internal SCM tends to enhance the quality performance of the firm. The current study has important implications in literature and practice due to its significant contributions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze (1) the dispute of construction service through adjudication in Malaysia and New South Wales, Australia; and (2) the legal conception of construction dispute through adjudication in Indonesia. The methodology used in this research was the normative legal jurisdiction with the statute, conceptual, comparison, and comparative approach. The results show that (1) the dispute of construction service through adjudication in Malaysia and New South Wales, Australia, is a legal process where the appointed adjudicator is responsible to solve the dispute between the conflicted parties. Furthermore, the adjudication process is carried out by assigning a dispute adjudication board. Since there is no obstruction in the fieldwork when this process is applied, therefore it is considered more effective; and (2) the legal conception of construction dispute through adjudication in Indonesia is preferable to reflect on CIPAA 2012 which is successfully applied in Malaysia.

Abstract

This research paper assesses the role of supply chain uncertainties on the supply chain performance in the manufacturing companies while considering the role of organisational centralisation. This paper has made use of quantitative data where survey questionnaire was used to collect data from 355 employees and managers working in the manufacturing sector. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) has been used as the main data analysis instrument. The results of this paper suggests that supply chain uncertainties cannot be considered as an individual factors during the decision making because the organisation structure play an integral role in explaining the relationship of uncertainties with supply chain performance. The model has suggested that customer demand uncertainty has a significant impact over the supply chain performance due to the sig value obtained from the SEM. However, the remaining factors that are: manufacturing uncertainties, customer delivery uncertainty, and supplier performance uncertainty does not have a significant impact on the supply chain performance of manufacturing companies.

Abstract

Abstract—The study considers the impact of supply chain management strategies on the performance of small and medium-sized businesses. It is shown that developed 4PL operators are economic integrators of countries dominated by small and medium-sized enterprises. The study deals with the data of the Federal Republic of Germany, China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation. The research hypothesis has been statistically confirmed: higher-level business models of supply chain management (for example, 4PL) are used in countries where there are significant investments in information and communication technologies. This positively affects the turnover of small and medium-sized enterprises. Logistics providers are supply chain integrators. It has been established that the higher the share of small and medium-sized businesses in the country's economy, the more developed the supply chain management system is. It has been shown that developed small and medium-sized businesses are integrated into a single management system with the help of 4PL operators; this makes it possible to increase the efficiency of both small and medium-sized enterprises and logistics operators. The scheme for increasing the efficiency of small and medium-sized businesses based on e-logistics has been presented.
