Abstract

The prime objective of the present study is to examine the impact of visual and touch stimuli on repurchase intention. Furthermore, the mediating role of airline image is assessed in the present research as well. The data was collected in the form of questionnaires from the international airline customers of Pakistan airlines travelling from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad airports. Multi-stage sampling technique was employed for the collection of data. The usable response rate of the questionnaire was 68%. PLS-SEM was used for statistical analysis and hypothesis testing. The findings of the study revealed that touch and visual stimuli have a significant (positive or negative) impact on airline image and repurchase intention. Additionally, airline image also mediates significantly between touch stimuli, visual stimuli and repurchase intention. The findings of the study are essential for the practitioners and policymakers of the airline sector as they can use the study to derive policies regarding customer retention. The study also fills the gap of limited studies regarding the impact of sensory stimuli in the airline sector. Moreover, the study also helps the policy-makers of the airline industry and marketing experts to derive the strategies in order to retain the customers.

Abstract

Coffee production represents the livelihood of many peasant families in underdeveloped countries. In Mexico, coffee production has social, ecological, and economic significance. However, the Mexican industry coffee needs to determine a logistic strategy for improving its competitiveness. This work proposes a methodology to help coffee producers in Chiapas, Mexico. This methodology has four stages. First, we did SWOT Analysis to understand the environment of the coffee sector from a literature review. Second, from SWOT analysis, a survey was designed. An expert group in coffee production linked to Chiapas coffee producers answered this survey. We use Cronbach's alpha coefficient to validate answers. Third, we assessed external and internal factors matrices to define generic strategies. Finally, it selected the best option from the Quantitative Matrix of Logistics Strategies. The results show several areas of opportunity for coffee producers concerning strengths and opportunities. The resulting logistic strategy is oriented to increase the participation of coffee products in the current market —this action help to make a differentiation of the brand through the denomination of origin and geographical indication.

Abstract

Globalization has diverted the attention of top executive sitting in big buildings towards global supply chains instead of organizational ones. Manufacturing organizations have also developed some systems like Internal Manufacturing Network Integration (IMNI) and network globalization to survive in global supply chains. However, these systems often need sustainability to perform well in global supply chains. This research has aimed to see the role of IMNI and network globalization in Thailand, producing assembled products, which include machinery, transportation equipment, automotive and electronics industrial sectors. The mediating roles of sustainable production and sourcing have also been analyzed in this regard. As far as methodology is concerned, middle and top-level management has been surveyed through questionnaire who belong from such manufacturing organizations of Thailand that are operating globally. SPSS and AMOS were used to analyze the data for reliability, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Results have shown that both IMNI and network globalization have significant impact on global supply chain performance while mediating roles of sustainability sourcing and production were also significant in this regard. Originality of this study is in the fact that supply chain sourcing and production have not been previously used as mediators between network globalization, IMNI and global supply chain performance.

Abstract

Abstract-Supply chain management strategy plays an important role in agriculture industry which is the most complex topic in negotiations between the United States and the European Union on the agreement to establish the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. This paper describes the US activity on greater access of American corporations on the European market and differences in approaches of the US and the EU to the quality and security food standards and to the use of genetically modified foods. Strained relationships between the US and the EU in 2016 is a result of the publication of the US intentions to secretly push American standards and rules into the draft agreement. That would mean deviation from the European agricultural regulatory requirements that is why it has caused a backlash among European partners.

Abstract

This paper describes the experiment conducted in order to support or reject the hypothesis that the effect of the odd pricing technique depends on the gender of the customer. Analysis of the recent studies in the field of customers’ price perception and, more narrowly, the odd-even pricing, failed to formulate the mutually shared point of view on the problem: whether the odd pricing effect exists or not? Empirical evidence from one group of researches prove this effect is significant while other group of researches prove the opposite. This led scholars to the conclusion there are some individual and contextual factors impacting price perception by customers. So we assume one of these factors is gender. In this study, we have made 2 samples including 3 grocery shops each: initial settings and control settings. During all the experiment we were registering the gender of buyers who were purchasing goods from the predetermined list accounting 10 items (for the experiment there were chosen the goods which are well known by the customers, frequently bought, and normally bought in a similar amount by both genders). As a result of the experiment, we’ve found a significant difference in odd pricing effect among genders: female customers are more perceptive to it comparing to male customers. Keywords— Pricing, price perception, odd pricing, odd-even pricing, price ending, gender differences in price perception.
