Abstract

The current research intends to analyze the implications of three aspects of supply chain integration (SCI) on three types of firm performance (FP) from the organizational capability (OC) context. The analysis examines the associations between internal integration (II), consumer integration (CI), supplier integration (SI), supplier-oriented performance (SOP), market-oriented performance (MOP), and financial condition from the organizational capacity point of view, based on the data of 670 firms in Indonesia. The structural equation model is used to carry out the analysis. The findings suggest that internal integration strengthens external integration and explicitly and implicitly increases FP through internal and external collaboration. Furthermore, complete or partial meditation between supply chain integration and FP are revealed and thus demonstrate the contradictory results regarding SCI on FP in earlier investigations.

Abstract

In this paper we survey existing literature from scholarly journals and practitioner literature published from 1980 to 2017 on the risks and mitigation factors of strategic sourcing in Africa and append the same with a detailed exemplar based on a large utility provider in South Africa.  The paper identifies the various supply chain risks facing organisations, contextualizing the same for Africa, and where applicable, the mitigation strategies thereof.  The preliminary finding was that there is generally an underrepresentation of Africa in supply chain management literature. Further, it was found that studies discussing supply chain risk and mitigation issues in Africa have focused mainly on challenges of sourcing in Africa.  A further observation was that literature provides some limited insights on how supply chain management tools such as total quality management, negotiation and supplier selection, and just-in time procurement may be implemented in African countries. However, the available literature manifests significant limitations in scope, both empirically and theoretically, when compared to the vast amount of contributions from emerging economies in Asia as well as developed economies. The study thus demonstrates that that there exists an untapped opportunity for future research in supply chain risk management in order to develop an integrated framework for risk management in strategic sourcing in Africa.

Abstract

Abstract- Global supply chains have a distinct geography that involves the dimensions of production, distribution and consumption. This geography, at the heart of many sourcing strategies, is often neglected by supply chain managers, or at least scholars investigating supply chain management. The land investment has a positive impact on boosting a region's financial strength through a Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) burden. The amount of PBB-P2 payable is determined using the Sales Value of Taxable Object (SVTO) in the relevant Land Value Zone (LVZ). However, the value of SVTO is lower than and is not proportional to the land market value. This study aims to identify the land value zone and determine the factors that influencing land value zone and regional tax purposes in commercial zones with the highest SVTO in Medan, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. This quantitative analysis tested using multiple regression and performed by Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS-20). The result of this study showed that location has a positive and significant effect on the land value zone, while the land area has a negative and significant effect.  Appropriate location can save energy thereby increasing the land value zone.  It implies that decision-makers must consider location when determining land value zone and establishing the SVTO.

Abstract

Supply chain management in human resource management of the workers in the large scale can be more efficient. Migration of highly skilled workers abroad and to the Russia’s central territories is becoming a significant problem for Primorsky region which located in the key geopolitical zone in the Russian Far East. Every year due to migration losses the population engaged in the economy squeezes by 0.3-0.4 percent.  It determines a loss of public services’ quality in healthcare and education, and stipulates a degradation of business environment, which in turn limits the economic advances. Migration losses cause a change in demographic and ethnic structure of employment in the region, which in the long term will determine a structural imbalance in the labor force market. In addition, the outflow of labor force preconditions a slowdown of the economy and diminish the geopolitical status of the Russian Federation in the Far East due to depopulation process at the border’s areas. It can be managed by supply chain strategies to manage the forces properly in their own requirements. Migration of skilled workers, or "brain drain", is a crucial factor for the economy of the Russian Far East. The consequence is a negative impact of migration processes for the age structure of the labor force, considering a fact that the major part of migration, some about 70 %, is due to outflow of the working age’s people. Next consequence is reducing of the engaged population in the economy and, accordingly, shrinking supply of labor resources in the market. The processes of population’s decline and labor migration off the region may squeeze the skilled workers offering in the labor market. Adequacy of qualified specialists will not exceed 40 percent following to the graduates’ forecast of higher and secondary vocational education - 21.0 thousand annually. In this situation a "gap" will probably occur between supply and demand in the labor market as a result of deficit of specialists in long run period.

Abstract

Abstract- The company's financial performance is a significant aspect which can be affected by supply chain management. The company's financial performance is measured by the profitability ratio of Return on Assets. This study uses supply chain management that is consistently listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2014-2018 periods and has complete data that can be processed and analyzed. The result of this study shows that Turn Over Inventory and Total Asset Turn Over have a positive and significant effect on Return on Assets, and Debt to Asset Ratio has a negative and significant effect on Return on Assets. But Current Ratio, Cash Turn Over, and Debt to Equity Ratio have no effect on Return on Assets.

Abstract

Labor resources remain the main factor of production and the national wealth of the state, while improving the efficiency of the supply chain management and the use of labor resources is currently the main task of the economy. This is particularly true of labor in agricultural production, because it is this sector that ensures the food stability of the state. Thus, the purpose of this article is to consider the innovative methods of supply chain management and labor regulation, which are applied in agricultural organizations in general and in women's work in particular. To achieve this goal, a set of complementary research methods, statistical and comparative analysis, a systematic approach to the study of economic phenomena and processes were used. This article describes the main approaches to the innovative methods of supply chain management and to labor incentives, aimed at increasing the motivation and interest of employees. A regression model of the human resource potential of the agricultural region was also constructed, which makes it possible to predict changes in the rural labor force in the region.

Abstract

The current state of development of world urbanistic community shows that the main accents in competitive interdependence between basic subsystems of territories are transferred from nation-wide - the national level on more local-regional and local: cities and city systems. The digital economy which key factor of production data in a digital form - digital technologies act gives great opportunities for the development of the city, acts as a factor of increase in its competitiveness. In relation to the cities of the Russian Federation, the main, most objective indicators of competitiveness are productivity (efficiency), employment, the standard of living, quality of the urban environment. Introduction of the digital economy is accompanied by a number of risks. In relation to the cities and agglomerations, it is necessary to provide actions for minimization of the risks connected with a problem of creation of the corresponding infrastructure. Digitalization potentially influences the majority of parameters of quality of the urban environment and promotes improvement of quality of life of citizens: welfare and employment, level of expenses, education level and human capital, existence of free time and nature of its use, level of environmental pollution, existence and quality of social communications, general satisfaction with life.
